Chapter Nine: Woody's misfortune

Another year had gone by and what am I doing? Looking for Woody's hat. Andy and him are going to Cowboy camp and Woody lost his hat. Andy will be leaving any minute now. We were looking everywhere for that hat but, alas, we didn't find anything. Woody was panicking about it too. I'm just thankful that Slinky found it but he had some bad news to accompany it. It was Buster, Andy's dog. He had the hat?

We heard his bark so we all hid from him. He started wrecking the room looking for Woody. When he did find Woody in Andy's bag, Buster threw him out and towered over him before giving him some kisses. Woody unfroze and congratulated Buster for finding him. Buster is not like Sid's dog and that's what I like about him. He's so playful and friendly. Woody gave him some belly rubs just as we heard Andy coming upstairs.

Time to be a toy. Andy came in and tried to do a  trick with Buster but he just walked off. Andy picked up Woody asking if he was ready for Cowboy camp. Andy's mum told him that they'd be leaving in five minutes. So, Andy played with us for the last five minutes. It wouldn't go as well as we wanted it to. Because, when Andy made Buzz and Woody link arms, Woody's arm accidentally ripped at the shoulder.

Andy's mum came in telling Andy it was time to leave. Andy showed her what had happened to Woody. His mum suggested fixing Woody on the way to Cowboy camp but Andy just said to leave him here. So, his mum put Woody on the top shelf, out of the way. The two left and we all unfroze. Poor Woody. And toys don't usually come down from there so that's even worse. We went to the bottom of the shelf where Woody's feet were just dangling over the shelf.

Bo asked if he was alright but he just took his feet up and stayed quiet. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. No one deserves to be on the shelf. They're just forgotten about once they're put up on the shelf. Well, having nothing much else to do, we went about our day. It was the next day that things got interesting, we were all asleep when Woody yelled at us to wake up. There was a yard sale outside. Again?

Woody told Sarge to do an emergency role call so we knew who was here and who might be taken away. We all lined up and Buzz called out everyone's names. We were all here. It ended early when we heard Andy's mum's footsteps coming up the stairs and towards the room. We all scattered and froze. His mum came in and started to look around for things to sell. They all seemed like minor things from where I was.

I almost thought she took Woody from the shelf but thankfully not. Woody called in Buster to take him down to the yard sale! What is he doing?! Buster came in and Woody fell off the shelf. Before we knew it, he was gone. Is this because of his arm? We went to the window and watched everything unfold. Woody was still on Buster, sneaking through the yard sale. He made it to a table where he climbed up and snuck into a box that was on there.

He's selling himself for 25 cents. Not that know how much that is. I'm french, I'm used to Francs, not this American Money. Even if he was selling himself, he's worth more than that. But Woody stood up, holding something. Wheezy! It was a penguin with a squeaker that broke months ago. Andy's mum said she went to get him fixed! What a liar! Either way, this was a rescue, not an attempt to have himself sold by someone else.

Woody got down from the table and put Wheezy under Buster's collar. They started heading back up to Andy's room. But something happened and Woody fell off of Buster. He froze as a little girl picked him up and asked her mother if she could have it. Noticing that Woody was broken, her mother tossed her aside. Woody's voice box went off which got the attention of an overweight man with a beard and almost balding head.

He looks familiar but I can't think of where I saw him before. He examined Woody, mumbling to himself. He got excited when he found Woody's hat and put it on him. The man heard Andy's mum tell Buster to quiet down and approach him. He covered Woody with some junk and started telling her how much he'd pay her for all of it. Woody not included. Andy's mum noticed Woody in his arm and wondered how he got down there.

The man just backed away and kept bargaining for the other stuff. But she just took Woody off of him and walked off. Okay, now walk away. But he walked back over and said he would pay $50 for Woody. I still don't know how much that is but it sounds like a lot. Andy's mum just told the man that Woody wasn't for sale and locked him in a little money thing. He even wanted to try and trade something for Woody but that wasn't happening.

But Woody's safe now. Time for the man to leave. Well, he was going to when he stood on a skateboard and gave a mischievous grin. He kicked the skateboard so it crashed into something, distracting Andy's Mum. She left to see what happened while the man started breaking into the cash box! He got in and took Woody! No!

Buzz wasted no time jumping out of the window and running after the man. The man put his bag with Woody inside in the boot of his car and drove off. But you could barely see Buzz grab onto the back and go away with the car. From there, we couldn't see what happened but Buzz didn't get Woody back. All he came back with was a feather. Why on Earth would someone want to steal a Woody Doll?

(A/N: I've returned. Kind of. Still not feeling that well but enough to keep writing. Turns out I have COVID. The test came up as negative the first time but I tried again and I am positive for the virus. I'm slowly recovering and I'll do my best to update this book. See you next chapter)
