Welcome all to the very first round of THE COVER WARS!! Get ready to push your limits and test your skills to produce some unique and fabulous graphics!

I decided to start of with a relatively simple prompt, so that you can showcase your style and your skill, placing yourself confidently, and comfortably, into the competition.

The theme for this round is neon - fluorescent, glowing, psychedelic. It's something I find peculiarly sensory and other-worldly, and it can transport any space into one colour, simultaneously drowning us in the brightness it brings. From parties, to street signs, to mysterious alleyways, neon has many interesting and nostalgically pungent connotations, and I really hope you push yourself to explore this in your entries for the round.

You'll be making two covers, both encapsulated under the theme of neon. One is totally under your control, and the only extra thing apart from the cover itself it must include is a sub title that hints and the storyline so that I get an idea of what it's about and that it is more than just a cover. You can make the title and image anything you want, however it must link back to neon comfortably ( you will be penalised if it doesn't ).

The second cover is quite similar, however this time I have prescribed the image(s) you must work from. You have three images to pick, as seen below. There is also a Pinterest board containing the full resolution images. Again, you can pick a title you want, and it must have a subtitle hinting at a plot. As for the links between these two covers it's up to you - they could be part of the same series, or completely separate. Whatever you think fits the visuals you imagine for them.
