"We're Burning Daylight."

I was barely getting up in the hotel room I was staying in. And the first thing I did as I always did, was go out for a nice long run. While out on my run, I had 'Cowboys' starring John Wayne blaring in my headphones. I must have run for close to an hour, maybe two. I soon headed back to the hotel to get some breakfast then head back to my room to re-pack my arena bag.

I then got showered, combed my hair, shaved, and checked the schedule. I had an interview, and a promo against Shinsuke Nakamura. But no match to speak of.

But when I reported to the arena. Shinsuke was called away due to a family emergency which I understood. So they told me that they'd half to have me work with Leah Dale otherwise known as Carmella. 'The Princess of Staten Island'. Which was going to be an interesting contrast in styles. Leah, more the flying around the ring and me more slow low to the ground kind of superstar. After the emergency meeting regarding the sudden changes, I went looking for my new partner in crime. I found her crying near the entrance to catering. R-Truth tried to cheer her up, but nothing was working.
I walked up and said, "Hey, Truth."
" Daniel."
"What's wrong with Mella?"
"I'll let her tell you." He stood up and let me take his place next to her."Im going to go and get something to drink."
"Hey." Leah looked at me. "What's the matter Mella?" I asked her as sweetly as I could without sounding pushy.
"Read for yourself." She tried to hand me her phone.
"I'd rather hear it from you." I told her.
She looked at me hesitantly as she pocketed her phone, then she moved her hair to behind her ear, breathed deep a few times, then wiped the tear washed mascara from her eyes and started. She told me that the wrestling news outlets got word of a fling between her and Corey Graves, and I know how lonely it can get on the road. But anyway, people were starting to label her as a homewrecker. Which I didn't think was fair. So after she finished. I told her that we'd be working together and that we'd be able to figure something out to deal with this recent scandal. She seemed to cheer up a bit and stood up with me. I sat next to her at a table in catering discussing what we could do to quell this wildfire scandal. I hated seeing Carmella so unhappy. But I was not going to let nosey wrestling news rags or anyone else ruin Leah's career over something as simple as loneliness. When Smackdown Live started. Leah was seated across from me as we watched the opening moments in catering, and of course the first thing up was the news reports of Carmella and Graves being embroiled in a scandal, I looked over and saw Leah try to put on a brave face. Eventhough, I could tell she was on verge of crying. So I got up and headed to the gorilla. She asked, "Where are you going?"
"To shut people up. Hard." I told her. "Stay here, and keep calm. I'll be back." I smiled and winked at her as I headed to the gorilla then to the ring. Nobody was expecting to see me so early in the show. Once I was in the ring I asked for a mic and held it as I paced the ring. Once I was ready, I stopped and put the mic to my mouth. "Alright. Now I'm not out here to make friends, but I do think y'all are taking this story between Corey and Carmella a little too seriously. Now for the record. They do feel bad about it. But eventhough the story just broke about a week or two ago, doesn't mean any of you have any right to judge." The crowd booed as I said that. "Now I'm certain some of you out there either watching at home, on the Web or wherever are probably saying, 'Well Corey was married, he should have known better.' or 'Carmella instigated it." I looked into the camera. "Well, let me tell you something. First off. We're all on the road 347 days a year, entertaining you. the WWE Universe. We are away from our families, wives, children and the like. For weeks, months at a time. It gets lonely on the road. So we, in desperation of companionship. Sleep with co-workers. But then again your so jonesing for a scandal you don't care who it hurts, just as long as it's a scandal and it's juicy. So you know what?" I looked to the canvas. "You guys don't deserve me or Carmella. In fact I don't care about what any of you think. I never have to be honest. I think its funny how in this type of scandal everyone always blames the girl or guy." I looked sternly at Graves at ringside. "Instead of what they do for a living. And Corey," He looked at me. "Your wife wants to take any more potshots at Carmella or anything close to it. You tell her to grow a pair. Come inside this ring and tell it to us in person. Because starting tonight. Carmella's under my protection. So if anyone out there has any problem with Carmella. Come see me. And I'll tell she if what she has to say is important or not or relevant or not. So in other words. Leave us alone. And if I see anymore stories involving Carmella in any way close to this. Whoever posted it better pray I don't find them. Now lets get the evening started, lets go, we're burning daylight."
I made my way to the back and was met by Leah. "Thank you, Daniel." She smiled.
"No problem, Le." I grinned. She leapt into my arms and I held her up. When I let her down onto her feet we decided to head to her locker room, courtesy of the fact that she had a match later in the evening against Naomi.

As she fixed her mascara she asked, "Hey Daniel? I was kind of wondering." She finished her right eye. And I waited for her to continue. "This may be an interesting if not an unusual question." She stopped fixing her mascara and looked at me in her mirror. "You defended me to the WWE Universe with such passion that it made me wonder, and I know you'd do the same for the other girls. But I was wondering?" She was extremely hesitant until I put a hand on her shoulder. She then breathed and smiled. "I was wondering if would you be interested in me despite what's going on?"
I smiled as I wrapped my arms around her, then leaned my head down next to her ear. And whispered, 'What makes you think I'm not?' I looked at her reflection in the mirror."Truth be told, I have been interested in you for a while. Just never had an opportunity to ask you out. But I think we should go on a date..."
"This Saturday Night." Leah smiled as she finished my thought.
"That was exactly what I was thinking." I hugged her tightly. She smiled as she finished fixing her mascara.
"Ha, ha, ha. Good." She turned her head and kissed my left cheek. "You know, let's just hangout here until my match comes up."
"I'd like that." I led her to the sofa and we sat down. "You know, Le." She looked at me as I wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "I know that you have had a lot of relationships like I have. And I hope you and I work." I told her.
"I think we will, Daniel." She slid her right hand over my left cheek and smiled. "I really do think we will." She pulled my face towards hers and kissed me. Our innocent kiss turned into a fiery, passionate, makeout session. Which almost caused us to strip down and shine the floors. until a tech knocked on the door letting us know that her match was up next. Leah groaned in disappointment.
"I know, Le." I smiled. "But we need to go to the gorilla and get ready for your match." We stood up, "But if we can curb our. 'Urges'. Until our date this weekend. Then we can pick up where we left off." I looked her in the eye. "Sound good?" she nodded.
"More than good," She kissed my cheek. "Sounds perfect. " We left the locker room and headed to the gorilla.
"Good." I smiled. "Do you want me to come out with you?" I asked.
Leah smiled and as we reached the gorilla, she turned around and wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me in for a kiss. Once she pulled away. She asked, "What do you think?" I adjusted my jacket and she adjusted my jacket collar and tipped the brim of my cowboy hat down a bit. Then kissed me once more. "I love you."
"Love you too, Leah." I smiled as she headed out first once her theme hit. She stood on the stage as I came out after her. Then when I was close enough to her. She slid her right arm around my left and we both made our way to the ring. But I stayed at ringside and Carmella passed me her hat, jacket, and her jewelery as Naomi made her entrance. She then slid her upper body between the middle and top rope and I approached her since the lights of the arena were still off courtesy of Naomi's GLOW entrance and we shared a quick kiss. "Love you, Leah." I smiled.
"Love you too, Daniel." She smiled. I passed her entrance gear to the timekeeper and resumed my post in Carmella's corner. I just observed and gave advice if and when needed. Leah looked damn good doing all those flips, and jumps.

30 minutes later, Carmella made Naomi tap out to the Code of Silence. I rolled into the ring and smiled as Carmella celebrated by standing on the second rope of all four corners. I really liked seeing my Princess of Staten Island smile and be happy. When I corralled her so we could head to the back. The moment we reached the back. We got ready to head to the hotel. "You were spectacular tonight, Leah Honey."
"Thank you, Dani Baby." We gathered our arena bags and Leah's entrance gear was returned and packed it with her gear. When we were ready to go, we went to the rental car, put our stuff in the backseat, then headed to the hotel.
"I hope this isn't presumptuous of me." I started as I parked the car. "But, I want you to sleep with me in my room from now on."
Leah smiled and after I shut the engine off, leapt into my lap and kissed me."No," She pulled away smiling. "It's not presumptuous at all. I wouldn't have it any other way." She kissed me again. I wanted her so bad, I could just imangine how she'd look, covered in only a towel or a sheet, or how her skin would glisten or glow in the moonlight coming through the window on a beautiful clear night like it was tonight after a nice if not, amazing round of making love or just good ol' unbridled, savage sex. I love Leah and I know she loves me. But like I said to her earlier. We would pick up where we left off if we could 'curb' our urges until after our date Saturday. And can I tell you by the way she and I were kissing and by extension fogging up the windows of the rental car, we were possibly not going to make it or resist each other until Saturday. It wasn't until the windows started to sweat from the amount of perspiration from the fog on the windows from our little intense makeout session. Did we both come to our senses, got out of the car, grabbed our arena bags, headed inside, I escorted Leah to her hotel room to get her things and then escorted her to my hotel room. Once we reached my room, she went straight to the bathroom to get ready for bed, I supposed. While she was getting ready for bed. A knock came to the hotel room door. I answered it and found Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Asuka, AJ Styles and a couple others. Including R-Truth.
"If any of you had a problem with What I said, get in line right behind Graves' wife."
"Actually," Sonya started. "We're here to say that you were right and we are very happy to see someone whose not afraid to speak his mind, no matter if he makes friends or enemies. It's actually quite refreshing really." She smiled.
Then Mandy stepped up. "And we're all happy to see that Leah has someone like you watching her back and looking out for her."
I looked to the bathroom and Leah was still getting ready for bed. I then looked to the huge group of friends of Leah and I's. Cassie and Jessie stepped up, "And we noticed how Leah was acting once you two were on the way to the gorilla, to the ring and to the back after the match. So,"
Jessica took the last part over from Cassie. "Don't think we didn't notice the kiss you two shared before her match against Naomi." I was stunned.
"You all noticed that?" I asked. They all nodded. I slapped my right hand against my forehead.
"We thought it was sweet." Jess said. Then continued. "That aside, we were wondering because of that kiss. If you and Leah are together?"
Before I could answer, the bathroom door opened and Leah came out wearing an extra large burgundy colored shirt and dark blue lounge shorts and said, "Yes we are." She approached me and stood in front of me as I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her neck making her giggle and smile.
"The only thing left to do is go on a date." I smiled.
"Which me and my Dani are going to do this Saturday." Leah smiled.
"Well congratulations you two." Lana said. After a few more questions and congratulations. Everyone left Leah and I's hotel room. Leaving us alone.
I closed the door and looked to Leah who was already in bed waiting for me to join her. "All ready huh?" I smiled.
"Just waiting for my handsome new boyfriend to join me." She playfully pouted. I giggled as I walked over to the bed and slid into bed next to her and we cuddled closer together and kissed each other, smiled as I took off my glasses and she took them and put them next to our phones, then looked back at me as I turned off the overhead light and once the light was off. I laid back down and she folded her right arm between my ribs and her chest and rested her head on my chest.
"Goodnight, Leah." I smiled as I kissed the top of her head. And pulled her closer and tighter with my left arm.
"Goodnight, Dani." She wrapped her left arm around my Waist and gently squeezed me.
"I love you." We both said in unison. We soon fell fast asleep.
