The End of The World

Scott's Perspective-

The Next Day-

Scott and Wallis rode their horses to try and find the portal to The End.

"Do you think Joey's already there?" Scott asked.

Wallis was silent before he rolled up the map he had and put it in his bag.

"I don't know." He said, "But we have to try and get there as fast as we can."

Scott nods and follows his father on his horse.

His mind wandered back to his date with Jimmy he had yesterday and how it all fell apart when Xornoth told him what had happened.

...

"Dad?" Scott's voice cracked a bit.

Wallis glanced back at his youngest son, "Yes?"

"Are you...mad at Xornoth?"

"I would say I'm more worried than mad. Why?"

"Just wondering." Scott whispered.

Wallis slowed his horse down to a stop and he put his hand on Scott's back.

"Are you mad at him?" Wallis asked in a gentle tone and Scott hesitated before nodding.

"I'm sorry," He said in a shaky voice, "I just...everything's seemed to fall apart ever since this. He shouldn't've gone into that cave. We shouldn't've run over there!"

"You two didn't know what would happen, it was just out of curiosity."

Scott sniffed and wiped his eyes on his sleeve, "The demon said Xornoth was strong enough to break the ice, do you think that means something?"

Wallis looked at Scott and sighed, "Yes, I think it does. Sometimes people are chosen to destroy, and others are chosen to create."

Scott looked confused and Wallis looked back at his map.

"Now come on, best not to dwell on it. We must keep going."

"...right." Scott nods, following his father.

-

They arrived at a dungeon and Wallis grabbed a torch, leading Scott through the labyrinth.

When they made it to the portal, they saw Joey starting to open it.

"Joey!" Scott shouted, running over, and pushing Joey away from the portal.

"Scott? What the heck are you doing?" Joey snapped, his eyes glowing red. He had purple vines crawling down his arms and growing from the crown.

Scott stepped back out of fear, and Wallis stepped over.

"Joey, you need to listen to me. You don't know what you're doing." Wallis said sternly, "You're unleashing great power to the world."

"Do you guys just hate your family? I'm trying to bring Xornoth to us."

"No, you're not. You're not working with him; you're working against him." Scott said and Joey looked hurt.

Scott quickly tried to grab the crown, but the vines had it stuck to his head.

Joey snapped back and pushed Scott towards the portal, which was slowly opening.

Scott gasped as he caught himself before he fell in.

"I know what I'm doing!" Joey shouted, kicking Scott.

Scott yelped as he stumbled in. His hand gripped to the edge of it and Wallis quickly grabbed his dagger, cutting the vines off the crown on Joey's head and throwing the crown away, causing it to shatter. Purple and red corruption dripped from it and the vines wilted and died.

Joey fell limp and collapsed to the ground. Wallis quickly caught him before he got hurt and he tried to grab his youngest son's hand, which slipped, and he fell into the End.

"SCOTT!" Wallis shouted, feeling his heart stop.

-

Scott hit the ground, and he groaned as he opened his eyes. He was confused about where he was, and his head hurt.

He heard a loud dragon roar, and he gasped, realizing where he was. He looked around, trying to find some sort of exit, but there was none.

He gulped, knowing the only way out was for him to kill the dragon.

I can't though. He thought, tears forming in his eyes. I can't bring the demon to full power.

He cried, feeling overwhelmed and lost.

There was no good option. Either stay in the End forever or kill the dragon and lose his brother.

Scott wiped the tears from his eyes and grabbed his sword.

"I'm sorry, brother." He whispered, running towards the dragon.
