'Dear Xornoth,

I don't think I can live here for two weeks. Jaxon won't stop talking to me about how you're a demon and this and that. He makes me want to jump off the balcony. I hope you're doing better. I overheard mom and dad talking before I left, and they said how they were gonna help you walk around again and talk with Gem's mom to see if she can get the demon out of you. I hope it works.

'Dear Scott,

I wish you luck with dealing with Jaxon. Let me know what horror stories he's started about me; I'd love to hear them. And yeah, you were right, mom and dad helped me walk around my room today. It hurt a bit, and my back hasn't fully healed yet, but the nurses said it's getting better. Apparently, Gem's mom is coming to visit tomorrow to help the healing process. I'm pretty sure she's mad at me for...everything, so that's going to be fun. Let's hope she doesn't kill me for what I've done.

Today, Jaxon shared the wonderful story of you turning into the demon at night and how you feast on kids. He said I was lucky to visit because I might've been your next meal. I honestly have no idea what's going through his brain. I think the demon must've really done something to him because he seems stupider than he normally is. Good luck with Gem's mom, I'm sure she isn't mad at you. She's probably just worried about everything that happened. Let me know how it went.

'Dear Scott,

Today you get two letters. One from me and one from your little boyfriend Jimmy. I assume you haven't told him that you're at Frost Ford because it was sent to your room (which I was able to walk to and from today, no need to hold the applause). I may or may not have looked at what it said. I'm your older brother, I'm allowed to snoop in your love life. And Jaxon's stories sound very entertaining. Maybe he won't mess with me anymore since he's scared of me. That's the dream, right? Anyway, Gem's mom was stern with me. She said that she might be able to figure out a way to help me, but the chances of it working are slim. According to mom and dad, the demon said that there's just one thing that's holding it back from full power, and we need to figure out a way to get it out of me before that happens or else, it can take over fully. You don't need to worry though, it'll be okay!

Why did you snoop through my stuff?! We could've been talking about very important things. And please don't tell mom and dad about Jimmy, I want to tell them myself. And plus, I don't know how they'd react yet, so I'd like to wait. I'm sure we'll be able to get the demon back in its rightful place. He'll be out before his plan works. I know he will.

Tell me one time you've written a letter to one of your friends about important things. Is gushing about how much you two love each other important? (don't answer that, it was a stupid question. I just don't understand love). And I won't say anything to mom and dad, I'll just tease you and Jimmy next time I see you two together because I love you. I hope things work out between you and him, he sounds like he really cares about you.

Xornoth stared at the letter and sighed.

He didn't know if he should tell Scott about the dream he had with the demon last night or not.

No, I shouldn't. I don't want him to worry.

Xornoth dipped his quill in the ink and continued writing.

'Everything's going well here. I'm glad you're coming back home in three days.

Xornoth put the letter in an envelope and handed it to the owl, who flew off.

"Xornoth," Lumi gently knocked on the door and walked in, "Rose wishes to speak to you."

Xornoth takes a deep breath and nods, slowly standing up.

"Well then please lead me to where she is."
