Life in The End

Scott's Perspective-

Scott had set up a little hut near the place he teleported. He had tried to fight the dragon originally, but he just couldn't bear to unleash the demon.

It wasn't worth it. He would rather be stuck here forever than see his brother suffer.

Hours went by, then days, and then weeks.

But Scott didn't dare hurt the dragon.

Little did he know, Xornoth had other plans.

Xornoth's Perspective-

After Scott had been gone for three weeks, Xornoth couldn't take it anymore.

He was worried sick about his brother.

And after having no word from him since he left, Xornoth knew that he needed to fix what he had done.

This was his fight,

his problem.

And Scott shouldn't be paying the price for his mistake.

So that night, Xornoth snuck out and rode towards The End.

-

Scott heard someone fall on the roof of his hut and he walked out of it to see Xornoth.

"Xornoth?! What are you doing here?!" Scott asked, shocked to see his older brother.

Xornoth hopped down and hugged him.

Scott hugged back and Xornoth held him tightly.

"I'm sorry." Xornoth whispered.

"Sorry? For what?" Scott asked.

"I'm gonna go, but I'll be okay."

"What? What do you mean? Where are you- "

Scott cut himself off as Xornoth took off running, a bow and arrow in hand.

Scott's eyes widened as he realized what Xornoth was trying to do.

Scott grabbed his sword and ran after Xornoth, who had already taken down one of the dragon's health crystals.

"Xornoth! Stop!" Scott shouted, crying.

"I have to! You don't deserve to be stuck here!" Xornoth said, smiling weakly as he shot down two crystals.

Scott lunged forward, swinging his sword to block Xornoth's attacks.

Xornoth pushed past Scott and took down all the crystals as well as fighting the dragon.

With a final push, Scott overpowered Xornoth and knocked him to the ground. "I won't let you harm the dragon any further."

Xornoth stared up at Scott, defeated. "I...I understand. I'm sorry for my actions."

Scott extended a hand to help Xornoth up. "We may be stuck here, but we can still find purpose and meaning in our lives. Let's work together to protect the dragon and the realm."

Xornoth stood up and Scott smiled. He was about to hug Xornoth, who shot an arrow at the dragon, which died. Scott shouted, feeling tears stream from his eyes.

Scott hugged Xornoth tightly, who smiled and hugged back.

"Please," Scott whispered, "Stop. This has to be a dream."

"Scott, I'll be okay."

"No you won't! You'll be gone. You'll be corrupted. Please...I can't lose you."

Xornoth smiled softly and wiped the tears from Scott's eyes.

Scott looked up at Xornoth and he hugged him.

Scott heard a malicious laugh and Xornoth faded away as black fog surrounded him.

Scott leaned back and watched as the demon took over his brother.

"Lovely to see you again." The demon smirked, "Seems we'll be spending some time together."

Scott wiped his eyes, but tears were still falling.

"Aw don't worry. Your brother's in good hands."

"Let him go! Please..." Scott cried.

"Sorry kid, your brother's stuck with me. I won't be handing him over until I've had my fun." The demon cracked his neck before sliding across the ground, red corruption being left in his path. He smirked sickly.

Scott looked scared and he backed up as the corruption grew tentacles.

The demon cackled. "Ah your world is over, kiddo." He winked before snapping, causing the tentacle to grab Scott and throw him into the portal home.
