A Way To Help

Joey's Perspective-

Warning: violence :S

Two Days Later-

The corruption around the other empires had been getting worse.

It came back and whenever they spoke to Wallis, he either didn't say anything or he repeated the fact that Scott was getting stronger and figuring out a plan to find the demon.

The job of the other empires was to look out for the demon in case he appeared. But that never happened.

Because of that, things got worse, and no one knew how to take care of it.

-

"Okay, I'll see you later tonight." Aeor said, walking Joey to the carriage.

Joey nods.

"Please, just try not to blow anything up. I know fWhip and his father, just keep your image."

"Right."

Aeor nods and he pats his son's shoulder before nodding to a knight, who helped Joey into the carriage.

As soon as they left The Lost Empire, Joey cleared his throat. The knight driving the carriage glanced back, slowing down the horses.

"Yes, Prince Joseph?"

"Take me to Rivendell."

The knight looked confused.

"Um- I'm sorry, but I have to take you to The Grim- "

"Take me to Rivendell. That's an order."

The knight gulps and he nods, changing directions.

-

"Joey? What are you doing here?" Wallis asked, standing out on the stairs of the palace with Scott.

Scott narrowed his eyes and put his sword away, as if hiding something.

"I came here to talk to Scott." Joey said, stepping out of the carriage.

Scott walked forward, his stance intimidating.

"What do you want?" Scott whispered.

"Please." Joey said in a soft voice, "I caused this whole mess for you, the least I can do is help fix it."

"What can you do that I can't?"

Joey gulped.

"I- I- "

"Can you even look the demon in the eyes without feeling guilty?"

"I- "

Scott sighed and turned around, walking away.

"Can you?" Joey asked.

Scott stopped and he looked down.

"W-well- "

"I know that I'm not the strongest person, but please. I can't just sit and watch as everything falls apart."

"Joey, look...you have no idea what he's capable of."

"But I know how he gets in my head. I know how he can mess with my emotions, knock me down. Half the battle is just ignoring what he says!"

Scott looked up, his eyes sparkling in realization.

"Please..." Joey whispered.

"Alright." Scott nods, "Come, let me show you everything I've got so far."

-

"So we have everything to take down the demon, we just don't know how or where he is?" Joey asked.

"Correct." Scott nods, "He may be back by those mountains where I found the Ruined Blade. I'm pretty sure that's what he was looking for when he saw me."

"And our main struggle with taking down the demon is the fact that it's your brother, right?"

Scott nods.

Joey hums and he sits down.

"I don't have much of a plan besides try and find the demon and see if I can fight him." Scott sighs, "And with this corruption getting worse and me who doesn't know how to take care of it, things are getting worse."

Scott sat down and he felt a pain in his heart.

He winced and his wings folded in around him as he fell down.

"Scott!" Joey shouted, running over.

Some guards ran in, and they saw Scott's antlers start to flicker and lose their glow.

"What happened?" They ran over, pushing Joey back.

"I- I didn't do anything! I promise!"

Wallis and Allison ran in and they both gasped, running to Scott's side.

Suddenly, a giant corrupted vine shattered through the window and grabbed Scott. Scott gasped but he was too weak to do anything. He saw the demon on the magical crystal, corruption circling the library tower.

"Ah, I've been waiting for this day forever!" He squealed, laughing before pushing Scott away, still in his grasp.

"Now, let's see how it feels to have all the power from you stripped away." The demon smirked and used his other hand to have the corruption seep into the crystal.

Scott yelled and he felt his body squeeze before going limp.

"LET HIM GO!!"

The demon turned around and saw Joey standing, gripping a sword tightly.

The demon smirked and he flew down, flicking up Joey's chin.

"What's the problem, boo?" He laughed as Joey smacked him away.

"Don't call me that, you traitor." Joey snarled.

"If anything, you're the traitor. You tried to be a good person but fell helplessly in love with a dumbass who made a deal with Satan." The demon kicked Joey in the stomach, and he fell.

A slash of corruption came down and Joey swiped his sword, tearing apart the corruption.

"You know, your dad's right. You're just too gullible. Too trusting. Allies won't save you, only you can save yourself." The demon smiled as he saw his words getting into Joey's head.

The demon flew down and Joey swung his sword. The demon quickly dodged, and tripped Joey.

The demon barked with laughter.

"And it seems you're even bad at that!!"

Joey fell and as he got back up, the demon kicked his neck, shoving him down.

"Give up, you're useless. You're nothing but an idiot used by others." The demon pushed down his weight and Joey felt tears form in his eyes.

He looked up at Scott, who was knocked out, and Wallis was trying to cut him down. A couple of knights ran over to get the demon off Joey, but the demon quickly pushed them off.

"Your story ends here, boy."
