Taehyung woke up a bit later than usual. Last night was a nightmare that he wishes wasn't true. He cannot believe he enabled this all to happen. What has his life come to?

Sitting at the breakfast table with his family except his dad who was already out meeting his friends. His father was finally living his retired life and everything is going the way he wants. He must be ecstatic right now. Taehyung saw Namjoon glancing at him every now and then as he took another sip of coffee.

Taehyung raised his eyebrow at him. “What? why are you staring at me like that?”

“How did the conversation with Jeongguk go last night?” Namjoon asked him the question with a playful smile. Seora, who was next to him, giggled.

“Good…why are you both laughing?” Taehyung wanted to be let in too with whatever these two were chuckling about.

“The talk went longer than we expected. So we were just wondering what you two were doing.” Seora said to him and Taehyung rolled his eyes.

“You both are so not serious. Nothing happened, okay I wouldn't have do something with him when our families are some feet away from us.” Taehyung replies, eating his toast in peace. Topics like these are very common with the two brothers as they are moon and the sun, cannot live without the other.

“So you would have done him if we were not there.” Seora added in, making her husband laugh. Taehyung stomped his feet. They were really messing with him.

“Don't tease me, okay!! you guys were worse than us. I still remember both of you sneaking off at every single gathering together. I noticed it all.” Taehyung replied and they just laughed. Deciding to stop teasing him. Seora was finished so she stood up and went to the kitchen to make green tea for herself.

“Taehyung, teasing aside. I hope you know I am always with you, okay? you don't need to worry about anything. If you don't like him or you don't want to marry him anymore, then let me know. I would make dad understand. Don't force yourself into something if you don't want it.” Namjoon patted his back and Taehyung felt more guilty than ever.

“Ofcourse, it's not a situation like that. We just need time to get to know each other more. I am glad you and dad both are so fond of Jeongguk.”

“Who wouldn't be? He's such a capable guy for you, Taehyung. He’s the CEO, he is able to carry himself up and be responsible. Very obedient to his parents and respects them. That's very important in families like ours, Taehyung. Beside all that, he is handsome too so you would have fun with him.” he winked at his brother and now he was back to teasing him.

“Hyung!” Taehyung whined to him. “Yeah, you are right. He is as golden as they say. I just need to take off his layers to see what else there is in him besides being a chaebol, you know?” Taehyung made eye contact with his brother and he was silent for a second and then started to laugh again. Taehyung slapped his arm playfully.

“how do you manage a company when you are this childish hyung, oh my god.” Taehyung complained and Namjoon started to apologize.

“Sorry, sorry it's not my fault. You basically handed that opportunity to me. But fine I would stop now. I have to go to the office, you start eating faster too if you don't want to be late. Take care, tae.” Namjoon ruffled his hair before he exited the room, leaving Taehyung with his breakfast alone.

A ping from his phone distracts him from his train of thoughts. He grabbed the phone and looks at his lockscreen to see he got a new text.

Park Sehoon (Boss man)

Without thinking much, Taehyung clicks on the notification and unleashes himself into a world that would be hard to be out of.

Jeongguk feels like there's a heavy rock on his shoulder that was replaced by an even bigger rock. There are expectations of the entire world that are to be fulfilled by him. Jeongguk has done everything according to the rule book. Why is it that even at 26 he still has to follow it? He is tired. The world is turning upside down and he cannot do anything to stop it because it would upset others.

Ever since he went on that date with Taehyung, it seems like everything has changed. He is not a big fan of the guy, never was and never will be. No matter how different he wants to be, in the end he will always be the youngest son of Kim Dohyun. Taehyung's attempts to try to be different from others make him laugh. He doesn't want to judge his entire personality off his three interactions with him but he never really gave him anything else.

But why is he the only one who sees that? For his father, Kim Taehyung is a great asset to add to their family, for his mother he would be an amazing option because he can uphold their standards and lifestyle and for his grandma, she thinks it's what Jeongguk wants, someone who can love her grandson unconditionally. Taehyung for her is the kindest and nicest man ever. Really handsome and a ‘perfect fit for my Gukkie’ as she likes to say. Kim Taehyung is the perfect candidate for his duty as a chaebol.

Jeongguk knew ever since he was young that he would be roped into an arranged marriage. He wanted to find someone himself and have a love marriage. Who wouldn't want that? To be with a person who you unconditionally love but living in his household where he has never seen any type of romantic love between his parents or any other couple he knows, Jeongguk did start to lose hope for himself. Maybe the Jeons are just unlovable. That's what the people say about them.

In a way he had prepared himself for this day and now that it's here, he's so conflicted. Taehyung hasn't talked to him since that day. There is still a chance he will say no, unlike him Taehyung is headstrong and he talks and others listen. Jeongguk saw how frank he was with his family and he envied him for a second. It's so easy for him. It won't be hard to say no either. Deep inside, Jeongguk wishes he would say no. He doesn't think Taehyung will fit in with them, he has been loved and would want that in future and Jeongguk wouldn't be able to give it to him.

He has put up a wall that no one crosses. Only his best friend,Jimin gets close to it and Yoongi hyung, his other friend, barely gets close to it. Jeongguk is aware he hides most of the things he feels and suppresses them. He doesn't want others to see him in different emotional states. It's a sign of his weakness like his father says. Jeongguk has never been in a solid relationship that he felt like it would last. He has never been so deeply in love that he would feel like he can't breathe when he is not near them.

Like right now, he can see the girl in the corner of the room with her friends eyeing him up and down. She's a brunette with bangs, pretty lips and has a tight red dress on. She's pretty and she's signaling him to come to him. She wants him. He knows how this would go, he would buy her a drink, they would have a small talk and soon enough they would be in some hotel or his apartment hooking up. By the next morning both of them will pretend they don't know each other. It's always how it goes.

“Jeongguk, are you seriously going to make a move on her right now?” Jimin asks him in disbelief.

“Why shouldn't I? I am not married yet so why are you already putting restrictions on me, Jimin-sshi?” Jeongguk says his name sarcastically. Letting out a laugh as he takes another sip of beer.

“I know, it just feels a bit wrong even if both you and Taehyung are nothing to each other. Besides, I was just hoping we could hang out. Yoongi hyung already ditched us and I don't want you to ditch me too.” Jimin feels like he is talking to a wall because Jeongguk isn't even looking at him. His eyes are stuck on the girl.

He sighs, it's a lost case. He watches his best friend order a drink. “You are an asshole for doing this to me.”

“Sorry Jimin. I just am on edge these days and with everything happening, I fucking need this so lets hang out some other time.” Jeongguk patted him on the back. He drank all of his beer in one sip, feeling the burn and the lightheadedness kicking in. He grabs the other drink and walks over to the girl.

Just like he predicted, making her flustered was not hard for him at all. He has a charm and he does overuse it at times but he makes sure he is not playing with anyone feeling…he tries his best to keep people away from his side but if they still fall for him it's not really his fault. Her name was Jiwoo and she was on a night out with her friends. He made sure she wasn't drunk before he proceeded to ask if she wanted to go to his place.

The girl didn't even think about it and immediately nodded. Everything was a blurry after that. Jeongguk only remembers reaching his apartment and taking off each other's clothes in a hurry, next thing he remembers is waking up next morning in his bed, fully naked, ready to repeat the week cycle all over again.

Though things were a tiny bit different this time. His dad called him to his office first thing in the morning. Jeongguk was curious, wondering what he did now for the old man to call him. Instead of going to his floor, he pressed his father's office floor. As the metal door opened, a bunch of employees greeted him. Giving him respect that his father was going to take away soon.

The Chairman was angry the second he stepped into his office. Jeongguk didn't make eye contact, he stood in front of him with his eyes on the floor. The fast pacing around the office and then throwing his heavy pen holder just some centimeters away from Jeongguk's face. Making a loud sound that shocked him. He was surprised because he has no idea what has made him so outraged?

“When will you change, Jeongguk?? How long will this continue!?” His father exclaimed in anger. His hands crossed around his chest as he tapped his feet on the ground.

“I don't know what you are talking about, Sir.” Jeongguk replied to him with calmness.

“This whole acting like a teenager phase you have going on. Sleeping outside, with new people every weekend. Do you know how much I have to fucking clean up after your reckless behaviours?” His father asked him, he heads over to his desk and grabs some of the files.  He threw them on his face, one of Them scratched him and made him wince.

“I got this the first thing in the morning, read it out loud for me.” His father demanded and Jeongguk nodded.

Grabbing the file off the floor and he sees the first page. It's an article from the most popular  news source right now. It has breaking news on the top and a picture of him…and the girl he was with last night going to a hotel and there was a picture of Taehyung attached next to it.

“The CEO of Jeon Group is seen going into his hannam-dong apartment with a different girl for the third time this month! Did the wedding bells stop ringing because the kims said no? or the old habits never die?” Jeongguk reads it to his father, feeling his feet sink deeper into the tiled floor.

“Do you have any idea how bad this makes us look? This makes you look like a cheater, someone who isn't faithful, who can't be trusted and shouldn't get married with Kim's youngest. because they are simply better than us, ‘cause their son isn't fucking new girls every night while he is ‘dating’ someone else.”

“But we aren't dating-” Jeongguk is cut off by his father throwing the files on his table right at his face, causing the paper to cut into his cheek. He doesn't even flinch.

“That's what you think. The world does not know that. The world thinks both of you are in love and into each other. They are waiting for the wedding news to come any day now. What they are not waiting for is to see you with someone who is not Kim Taehyung. You got that? So get your head straight and don't fuck this up, Jeongguk. This is the biggest partnership in entire  south korea. It will benefit our shares so fucking much as they have been going down from how many scandals of yours we have been cleaning after. So don't be selfish!!” His father yells at him. He could see his father getting so worked up over this.

Jeongguk might have been having a bit of a rebellious phase of going out every weekend and sleeping with different people but he doesn't get what's so wrong with that? He knows he's not a normal person and he can't get away from it as a public figure. He just thinks it's time people realize he is a grown adult who can do whatever he pleases. It's funny, he wants people to realize that when even his own father can't.

“I am not being selfish. I acknowledge this is a big moment for us and I have given a green flag for everything. I'm getting married to someone you guys choose. I apologize for yesterday. I didn't realize there would be paps outside my building. It won't happen again, I promise. I know I am to be married soon and I'll make sure no one has anything to complain about.” Jeongguk tries to reassure his father but it's not working.

“Start acting like it too. I have heard these words out of your mouth so many times and you never act on them. Jeon Jeongguk, don't think I'll be easy on you just because you are my only son. Don't even think you are anything without the Jeon Family name. I don't care who you spend the night with but until you are married to Taehyung, you have to stop this bullshit. I don't want any more scandals. They have asked me to pay millions to not make this article public, you know what would happen if they do right?” His father asks him. Jeongguk looks up and stares at him for a solid second.

“They will pull away from the marriage.”

“Yes and I won't let that happen. I won't let your foolishness stop this company from reaching the skies. Kim Taehyung is the most eligible bachelor in our community alongside you. Both of you together is something that will shake everyone up and our competitors would want to ruin that so expect more people following you. You should be lucky the boy said yes, He is an excellent choice for us. He has everything we need and everything others want. You know, even mins, your friends' family, were going to send a proposal to the kims? They held back when they heard about us being there first. Keep Taehyung close to you, he's valuable to us.” His father let him know and Jeongguk was surprised.

Yoongi didn't tell him about anything of that sort but the proposal was not sent so maybe that's why. He wonders if Yoongi would have said yes. Maybe they shouldn't have met. Yoongi would definitely be a better choice. Unlike Jeongguk, Yoongi's family is actually sane.

“I will brush this under the table but there should never be a next time. Now go, looking at you is making me more angrier. What a foolish son I have raised…” Jeongguk's father declares. Telling him to get out of his office.

Jeongguk is numb by now. The harsh insults and complaints, it has become a daily thing for him at this point. It has become a habit to stop taking him too seriously, he brushes the thoughts away immediately. Jeongguk has stopped the disappointment with just one decision.

He kept his father's pride and kept the sadness away from his grandmother's eyes. Since she is the only one in the family who wants him to have a genuine connection with Taehyung. He wonders what she sees in them together that he doesn't because from what he has seen so far they are two puzzle pieces that definitely don't fit together. Only the time will tell now.
