Chapter three {3}

"I'm not scared of death anymore, I'm scared of being alone,"- lola

"You know when someone asks you how you are and you tell them that you're doing well because if you said that you're fine then they'd suspect that something is wrong, but if you tell them that you aren't good, then well, aren't you burdening them?

But that's the thing, that's not the only reason why. There's a thought that's drilled into our heads, a thought that slowly destroys everyone at some point.

It's the thought that screams that depending on someone else is unacceptable. No one comes to us and says that we can't talk to others about how we are actually feeling, but for some reason, it's in our head that they already don't care. So, we lean on ourselves.

But what if there's not much of us to lean on at all? What if we're just slowly withering away into dust but we still have to only hold on to ourselves even though we know that we could get some of the lost dust back? What if we are just tired of everything?

Even the things that aren't even happening to us and we just need something to hold on to but every time we try to get ahold of our hearts, it dusts away even more and we can't do anything about it because hey, depending on others is fucking weak," Lola stared off into the distance with her thoughts, the thoughts that she would never dare to say out loud.

"So, yeah, do you agree with what I said?" Kenna asked Lola, snapping her out of her zone.

"Yeah of course I do," Lola lied, still somewhat in her zone. She didn't hear a thing Kenna talked about but just figured that she'll understand.

"So you agree that all of us should just go back to ancient Rome and stab Caesar because Brutus was just like him, if not even better?"

"We should definitely do that," Lola nodded her head, still without hearing what exactly Kenna said.

Kenna gave out a groan as they snapped their fingers in front of Lola and tried to get her back.

"Wait what?" Lola asked, her gaze piercing into Kenna's black eyes.

"Oh, you didn't hear? Dylan over there just got us three tickets to go to ancient Rome and stab Caesar-

"What should we be talking about again?" Lola asked Kenna, rubbing her eyes.

"We are supposed to be talking about the fact that you are going to set me up with that hot friend of yours," Kenna asked her directly.

"All my friends are hot, which one are you talking about?" she asked Kenna with a chuckle.

"Danielle Baker, duh. She's the only one in your little three friends group who isn't either crazy or committed," Kenna told her with a small smile. Kenna then left out a deep breath.

"And what will I get I return?" she asked Kenna with a crooked smile.

"What if I let you tag along with me for my cousin's seventeen birthday? It's this Friday, her parents are going out with my parents, it's a good enough little party?" Kenna offered, which made Lola think a bit.

Her parents would most likely freak out and disown her if they knew that she would go to a party, which made the offer sound even more tempting to her. She pretended to put on her thinking face.

"There'll be hot guys over there, and girls and just hot humans to stare at as well," Kenna wiggled their eyebrows and she gave a sharp turn to her side when she heard the door open.

"And hopefully the only hot guy that you will stare at will be me," archer came inside the room with a half-smirk, his eyes going towards Lola.

"Arch, don't you have chemistry now?" Lola asked him as she got up from her seat.

"I'm pretty sure that I have a lot of chemistry with you, but I don't think that's what you meant," he said with a wink and Lola gave a tired sigh. For some reason, she was just feeling tired. She didn't even know why.

Is there even ever a real reason to feeling tired though?

"Archer," she raised her left eyebrow, questioning him.

"I skipped it because, well, because I can? Missing one class about how atoms work won't kill me, Lola. Anyway, I'm here for the drooling idiot that's asleep over there," he pointed towards Dylan.

Dylan McKinn, his best friend who was asleep at the last seat by the window, with papers spread all over his table, and his brown hair was almost more messed up then Lola.

Lola turned her head to see who he was pointing towards and saw Dylan's eyes flutter open slowly as Dylan took a deep breath and stretched his arms, and then stood up.

"Where are you guys heading to?" Kenna finally spoke up and got off the table and walked towards Dylan.

"We're just heading towards Jackson's home, I heard he and Brooke got expelled and were sent home," Dylan spoke up and yawned, and put his hand on his mouth, then realized that he was drooling.

"So stabbing Caesar in ancient Rome is off the plan?" Lola chimed in with a smirk to which Kenna have out a laugh.

"Why would we stab a dead person? For god's sake Kenna, I know that you are psychotic and will be a serial killer after you drop out but stabbing dead people is just weird," Dylan replied back as he wiped off his drool and stood next to archer.

"Right, and would stabbing you twenty-seven times with the help of all you're friends count as psychotic, or is that just weird?" Kenna attached back and Dylan gave a hiss in return. Archer just shook his head while Lola enjoyed their bickering.

"enjoy the little things, they'll not last forever," she thought of with a small smile.

"Is our plan still on, Lola?" Archer asked her with a smile as he leaned on the wall by the door.

"Depends on me, I'll just have to let you decide whether you'll go to the café, or you won't," she told him as she put on a tired smile and gave a small sigh.

"Then you'll hopefully see me there, bye Lola." He finished their conversation with a half-smile as he and Dylan walked out, with Kenna pointing the middle finger to Dylan.

"I have English next, I'll get going," Lola declared her exit as she saw Kenna do a little goodbye wave as Kenna got back to the seat. Lola walked out of the classroom and headed towards her right, walking past the same hallways again, but this time not many students were in it.

There were some girls talking by their lockers, some guys walking past her to their classes and some teachers freaking out over some split milk, quite literally, the janitor spilled over a milk carton in the staff room and she could see some teachers gossiping about it as they walked out of there.

But a part of her reminded her of Something else. The fact that rumors are just like the spilled milk that the teachers are obsessing over, rumors fall, and when they on the ground they spread everywhere like how the milk spreads.

And the teachers are just by-passers who go ahead and walk on them, spreading them more and more and obsessing over them because they don't have anything else to do, all while there's someone who's always left to pick up after them.

And then, while she was lost in her own mind, she bumped into Someone else, which lead to the other person's drink falling on her shirt. Her white top was now stained in the middle, the brown wet spot looking like a huge ink splatter. She inhaled a sharp breath as she gave out a groan, and then opened her eyes to see Jackson standing in front of her, his bag pack hung over his shoulder and a crumbled piece of paper in his right hand.

"Watch your way," he commented in an almost automatic voice as he tried to walk past her, but she grabbed his arm from the side, looking a bit pissed.

"You bumped into me," she replied back as she let go of his hand when he turned his head to look at her.

"It's just a top, you'd look better without it anyway," he commented as he walked past her, dropping the crumbled paper down and heading towards the entrance to leave.

"Fucking turd," she commented as she turned the other way and walked towards the restrooms, seriously pissed at the world. She was grumpy when she woke up, and a good top ruined because of some ass just made her mood even worse. What? Shirts are expensive.

She entered the restrooms with her mind screaming the words "I told you so,". At least she got some extra sleep beforehand. She walked towards the sinks, looking at herself through the mirrors. The yellow light probably made her tip look worse then it was, her nails were kind off bit, she knew it was a bad habit but she would just get very nervous sometimes, her hair wasn't very messy, her curls dropped to right above her chest and there were some dark circles forming under her eyes.

After she was done checking herself out, she moved her red bag pack forward and kept it on the counter as she took out a mint green top and observed it. It was wrinkled, a size bigger than her size but wearable.

No one was in the restroom other than her, she checked the stalls but her paranoid mind wouldn't do anything bold. She went inside the first stall, getting her bag pack with her as well.

She closed the door as she proceeded to remove her shirt but then she heard the restroom door open and two people walking inside. She heard the sound of one bag falling down to the white ground as another one hit the counter.

"You're filthy," Ashley commented as she removed her comb from her bag on the counter.

"For dropping my bag on the floor? I'm not nearly as filthy as the those fake Church girls," Danielle countered as she stood by the mirror and played with her blonde hair.

She put her bag on the counter next to Ashley's and looked at her, waiting for her to be done. Ashley looked back at her, her eyes staring into Danielle's star blue eyes. She kept her hand on Danielle's shoulder, a smile creeping up on her face as she indirectly asked her how she looked to which Danielle gave a thumbs up.

An awkward silence filled the room again, Ashley being conflicted about whether to remove her hand or not and Danielle being conflicted with her own battle. Danielle bit her lip nervously, Ashley gave out a small chuckle in return. Both their faces were inches away from one another, and Danielle felt like her lungs had stopped working for a moment.

And at that second, Ashley closed the distance between them and pressed her lips against Danielle's. Ashley expected Danielle to immediately push her away, but instead, Danielle put her hand on Ashley's neck. For a moment there, it felt like time had stopped. Ashley bit Danielle's upper lip, one taste would have been enough of her.

Danielle immediately opened her mouth to her, allowing Ashley inside her warm mouth. And Danielle kissed her back with the same passion as Ashley pushed Danielle against the wall, both of them not wanting to part themselves from one another.

And at that moment, lola made a pact in her head to never use school restrooms again in her life, or at least bring earphones with her to distract her from the loud noises of the people outside. She tried to keep as quiet as she could, and she couldn't even remove her top without her arms touching the stall door and making a noise. But then a thought crept up into her mind.

There she was, stuck in a small space, unable to move, unable to make a noise out of fear, unable to leave. While everyone else continued on without a care. While everyone made the noises that were heard, while everyone saw everything but choose to not care about anything that didn't matter to them, while everyone walked outside, she was in a box, in her mind and out.

Author's note: Heyoo! Guess which author is high? On a graphic and writer's high! Yep, it's still not over. I'm enjoying writing, And of course, muggle pancakes. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing this chapter! And yes, Kenna likes mean girls, the movie, because I like mean girls. Also, what's up with Ashley and Danielle? Sorry for the cringe. Thank you for reading! Hope you are doing well <3.
