The Confession
Kiki had been sitting in the garden most of the day because of the lack of work needed to be done. She stared at the sky as the puffy, white clouds slowly floated by as the wind softly flew causing the autumn colored leaves to fall around her. She sighed at the calming feeling of the outdoors not really knowing what else to expect from a beautiful garden. Prince Zen and his family had decided to have a relaxing day as well, just staying inside and well being a family.
It's been almost seven years since Zen and Shirayuki got married about a year latter they had their little girl, Saris. Then almost 3 years later they had little Jerald with both of them being very hyper and curios children just like their parents.
Kiki could admit that she was a little jealous of how happy they seemed but she knew they had waited a long time for them to finally get married so she was extremely happy for them. In regards she and Mitsuhide had been together for a year today and were very happy. Though she didn't seem to express her feelings for him too often she knew he knew how she felt.
As Mitsuhide was walking through the empty halls that only seemed to have a guard at every corner he looked out the window to see Kiki sitting in the garden. He smiled as the wind once again blew causing leaves to stir around her and float back up into the air. He watched her follow a specifically bright red leaf with her eyes as it flew higher than all the others. It probably reminded her about how Shirayuki beyond great difficulty finally reached high enough to be with Zen.
He rushed down the stairs to go and talk to her, which was something he hadn't really had the time with lately with all the preparations for Zen's birthday ball coming up soon. It was supposed to be a surprise but who in this kingdom can actually keep a secret let alone from a prince. Which is why he never told anyone of the specific thing he wanted to talk to Kiki about except getting permission from Zen. Which he technically could have gone without but he honestly couldn't keep it to himself anymore and needed to tell someone else.
As he walked up to her as she sat down he smiled at her obliviousness of not noticing him walking toward her which was highly unusual with her stoic attitude. "I never expected to see you out her relaxing," Mitsuhide says while subtly sitting down next to her causing to surprisingly jump, whipping her heat to look in his direction.
"I never expected you would leave Zen's side," Kiki jokingly says back at him while causing him to dramatically cover his heart with his hand.
"I am wounded, I am my own person I can do what I please," He says looking away dramatically while she just gives him a look which causes him to sigh. "Okay I get like a half-hour break, I mean a party can't plan itself."
"It feels like I haven't seen you in so long," Kiki says laying her head in his shoulder making him chuckle and she looks up glaring at him.
"Okay, okay. Yes, I know how you feel but we work in a very big, very busy castle and we have respectabilities," He says pristinely trying to seem like royalty making her give him a 'Are you serious look?' "Yes, I am completely serious."
After a few minutes of silence as they stared at the large tree in front of them Mitsuhide sighs. "You know I love you, right," He confesses making Kiki's back stiffen. "I've loved you since the first time we met and I saw you standing on that balcony. I know it isn't fair to judge you on your appearance but the aura around you seemed calm and trusting though it seemed to be hidden behind your subtly blank expression. And over time I may have been stupid and completely obvious but I have never stopped falling. They when I asked you to go out with me I thought you would deny me right on the spot but here we are. Many, many years later still next to each other, still best friends, still together, but I want more. I want to be by you for the rest of my life, I want to grow old with you, and maybe possibly someday have our own kid. You parent may not approve of me but if I do honestly make you happy I would hope they would someday trust me. And at that I would like to ask you," He gets down on one knee in front of her and pulls out a ring nice while her hands fly up to cover her mouth. "Will you. Kiki Seiran, make me the happiest human being in the world and become my wife?"
She stood there staring at the most beautiful ring she could have ever seen in a small black box in front of her in the hands of the man she loved and she couldn't even mover. He began to get more nervous as she didn't say a word and she knew she had to say something before he though she said no. "Yes," he gasped out as the first tear Mitsuhide had ever seen from her slipped out of her eye. "Yes!" She yelled jumping on him as they fell backward onto the grass laughing happily. She lauded on his chest as he sipped it on her left ring finger. She smiled at him brightly and he smiled at her just as much.
She leaned down and kissed his lips slowly and softly and pulled away if only for a second to whisper "I love you." This had been the first time they both had said those three words to each other because before they didn't want to move too fast and to force the other to say it. But they were too happy now that they didn't even care that a certain couple was watching them from the top floor of the castle as they kissed and laughed together.
"I really am happy for them," Zen said to his wife as he had his arm wrapped around his wife's waist. "They both really deserved each other. They are both amazing people also Mitsuhide thinks they birthday is a surprise."
Shirayuki laughed, lightly smacking his arm and saying, "Hey it was my idea leave it alone. Anyways, I am glad Kiki had found someone to be with that she truly trusted. Many years ago, though she never truly voiced it I could see she worried about who she would marry when the time came. And if you told her than that it would be Mitsuhide that she would completely deny it. But here we are with them in love and engaged now that is a happily ever after if I do say so myself."
"Momma, Poppa!" A little voice yelled from the inside getting the couples attention. They look at each other and laugh quietly as Shirayuki pulls away from Zen's protective arms and begins to walk back in.
She stopped and turned her head to say, "You know I'm pregnant again, right?" She quickly walked away leaving a shocked Zen in her wake who then chased after her while calling her name. She just continued to laugh as their kids watched their parents slightly confused.
Then sitting on the top of the castle watching both couples as loving laughter still fill the air he says, "Now that's what I call a happily ever after."
