Saturday Escape | Chapter 6

"Straighten your back," the teacher smacked a ruler to your back. On Saturday's is when I met with my old piano teacher to go over things you already knew but your mother insists you continue attending to keep up the good habits. "Well done, darling. Now flip the page." She was an old lady who's way past her time, forgive me for my language. You glanced towards the clock, watching the time tick later and later. "Ma'am, I have a business party to attend to in an hour, and I'd like to get ready." You've never lied before, yet it slipped so easily off your tongue. Cursing yourself inside your head, she reluctantly lets you off. "Is your mother attending such an honorable event?" You hesitantly nodded,"Yes ma'am. She is hosting the party with her coworkers."

"She's never hosted a party before... I hope it goes well. Update me next Saturday, dear." A sigh of relief escaped you after you exited the clutches of the schedule. You knew what you were doing was bad, and your heart and mind were racing each other trying to figure out which way your mother would punish you if she found out. Once she found out- she never missed anything.

Once outside, the vast gardens to the main entrance would pose a great challenge. Before you would rue your actions, you strutted forward with poise. Suddenly a loud 'BEEP' filled your ears. When you looked, you saw your driver parked in the grand lot in front of your teacher's mansion. You bowed politely and waited for the car to pull out in front of you. "I thought you weren't supposed to leave for a few more hours?" The driver looked you up and down feeling something wrong. "N-no, an urgent matter came up. There are some things at the school I need to pick up. My mother asked me to specifically. It'll only be a little while so please do your job and take me there." As instructed, the driver drove to the school.

Showing people you care for their interests is very important when making friends, something you never had. You used to read stories of people making friends then going on an exponential journey with them until the very end. You wanted that happy ending, not a life of constant control. Scared. That's what you were. You knew exactly what you wanted but you never tried anything because you were too frightened of your mother.

"I'm gonna watch your game, and I'm gonna make sure you know I care...!" You walked to the school entrance instead of taking the back path to the gym. This way, the driver would actually believe you. Well, more than before. "I take a right here, then I should be- ah! The door to outside, yes!" You muttered excitedly to yourself. As you inches closer to the gym door, you could hear the crisp sound of the balls smacking the floor. You got nervous; there would be people here you don't know, but Hinata and Kageyama know. Will they judge you, you asked yourself. You shook your head, 'no, they seem like nice people. Give them the benefit of the doubt, (Y/N)...'

You raised your hand and knocked gently on the door. Your gloves muffled some of the sound. After a few moments, the door still didn't open. You waited, and waited. Again, you knocked and then the door opened. A tall slender male with light hair greeted you. "Hinata," his voice nearly echoed through the large gym. "Is this her?" The short carrot top looked your way and smiled brightly. "Yeah, so glad you could make it!" He ran up to you, jumping for a high five. You raised your hand and met it with his. "Uh, heh?" You looked at him for approval.

You stood next to the male from earlier on the sidelines waiting for the game to start. "You're the daughter of (M/N), huh?" You were startled, surprised that he had either done research or already knew who you were. "Yes, upperclassmen." "Wait until she comes here and hits you." You looked at him astounded at how he could say such a thing. "W-what?" You fiddled with your fingers, a wave of nervousness washing over you. "I asked if you liked playing piano?" "O-oh... Yes, I do. I've always loved it." 'What now? What do I do now that I'm here?'

Another male was standing next to the other male you came to know as Sugawara, "so what now?" "What do you mean?"

"What's your name?" Sugawara gave you a concerned look after you misheard his friend, just like you misheard him. "do you perhaps have a hearing issue? Pretty strange for a person who plays piano, haha." The brown haired male with a strong presence laughed while-heartedly. "Yes, haha." You forced a laugh. "My name is (L/N) (F/N). You may know my mother, (M/N) of the (C/N) company." You bowed, staring at your feet taking in intense detail.

The game started soon enough and you grew more impatient. The game caught the some of the time, but you couldn't focus. "What if she does come here?" You whispered. You knew no one could hear you over the sound of the volleyball smacking the smooth floor.

You didn't quite catch it, but at the moment the ball went flying past the other team everyone was shocked and the gym door flew wide open. Everyone was absorbed in the fast spike, that no one noticed your mother storming in.
