Chapter 2: Grillby's.

"So, dearie~, you are Y/N, correct?" You heard Mettaton sweetly say to you.

"Yep! Y/N who is going to have a blind date with Papyrus's brother, Sans, whom I met in the elevator." I shuffle over towards an empty chair that was in front of Mettaton's big, empty desk. Well, it had some nick-nacks like a Mettaton trophy or something.
Poop
"Like the forwardness darling. It seems to suit you well, even though I have only met you for a minute." Mettaton leaned back on their super comfy chair. "Definitely reminds me of Sans." Their gaze drifted towards something behind me.

"Hey MTT, so this's Y/N?" I heard a deep voice come from behind me. It was... Startling, to just hear someone behind you, but I slowly relaxed as I realized that the voice didn't sound one of mischief but more of...

"SANS! You weren't supposed to see her yet! Hence the name of a blind date!"

Laziness.

"Woops. Guess I just met-a-ton of problems that it just slipped my mind." I chuckled at the puns. They sounded so similar to mine.

"I knew it that she was good for him.~" I heard Mettaton whisper to them self. I would have made a pouty face, but I remembered that there was another presence right beside me. I finally looked at Sans, and was slightly surprised that he was a skeleton. Wait, why should I be surprised? I met his brother...Ah, it's because they are polar opposites. Yeah. That's what it is. I met Sans's gaze, and he winked at me.

"I heard that you applied for the job at Grillbs?" I blinked at the sudden forwardness that I was not prepared for.

"Y-Yes?" It sounded more of a question than a response, and also I stammered. Why?! Why mouth why?! Why would you stutter like that?!

"Heheh. Grillbys is awesome. I went to that place a skele-ton back in the underground." I snickered and hid my mouth. I've always wondered what the underground was like. Maybe he could tell me more on our weird blind date we are supposed to have. "Also, make sure to put some, backbone, into your work. You're gonna need it." I couldn't stop smiling either.

"Thank you, Sans, was it?" I asked. He nodded. "Like the comic you are?" He chuckled at my pun.

"Yep." He winked at me. I lightly blushed. "Welp. Cya at that blind date." Then he vanished right before my eyes. I blinked, to see if it was something in my eye, but I was wrong. Sans truly did vanish out of thin air. I turned back to Mettaton and they nodded. I cocked my head in confusion.

"Did he just-"

"Yes darling. He does that often." Mettaton had a hint of annoyance in their voice, and I wondered what Sans could have possibly done.

"Wait. He teleported?" I questioned not only to Mettaton, but also myself.

"Why yes dearie! ~That's a power he has with his magic.~" Mettaton put a leg over their other one.

"*huff huff*" I heard panting come from behind me, and the smell and sizzle of flames. I turned my head to see the one and only Grillby. I smiled wide, well, wider than I already was. My mouth may start to hurt soon.

"Ahh, Grillby you made it. I hope that stage wasn't too confusing for you.~" Grillby made a face. ಠ_ಠ

I guess the stage is really confusing.

"Hi!" I chirped while waving my hand, then putting it into place for him to shake. Grillby's stance from before was slouching, and from my formalities, he stood up straighter as if he didn't look like he ran a marathon, and firmly shook my hand. His hand was like putting your hands next to a fire, combined with putting them against a heater. Flickering, and toasty.

"Nice to meet you Y/N. To be the only human to apply, is quite sad. Though I am thankful for you to try." His voice was whispy, and hearty. I then wondered how he can even live. Meh, they're monsters. They are pretty much half human.

"You're welcome Grillby. I need the money, plus, my best friend kinda implied that I should get a job earlier. So..." I awkwardly ended as I rubbed my arm.

"Ah. Reminds me of Sans." I give him a confused look. I guess I am very similar to the comic.

"See Grillby? Can't you totally see them two together?~" Mettaton cooed. Grillby's flames glowed and flickered warmly. I haven't been shipped before, but I felt the slightest bit annoyed that they are stepping all over my personal life. But I guess that's what friends do.

Grillby's nods, and then looks over to me.

"I don't see why you can't get into my job application. So lets say you got the job." I then looked at him with the look of humor like I just heard a pun. He's joking, right?

"You're kidding right?" I say with a disbelieving smirk.

"Nope." He says casually.

My eyes to wide. My jaw falls. My mind is in disbelief.

"What?" I gawk.

"Darling, you got the job!~" The words still didn't register in my head. It wasn't until I felt a metallic hand underneath my chin, that it finally came to me.

"I got the job?!" I lower Mettaton's hand that was on my chin. My eyes widened and I gawked.

"I GOT THE JOB!!!" I exclaimed. I ran and hugged Grillby and Mettaton. I squealed in excitement that I got the job with little effort. I still couldn't believe it, and I had a hunch that there will be a catch, but I was too excited to care.

I managed to call Y/N, and when she answered I screamed:

"I GOT THE JOB!!" Then I hung up. The two monsters behind me were looking at me weirdly, but I didn't care. I got the job.

Then I realized something...

"Wait... Could somebody tell me where Grillby's is at?" I bashfully blush.

"Hehe!~ You two have fun. I'm afraid it's time for MTT NEWS, so ta-ta!~" Mettaton whisked away into the elevator and all too soon that left me with the fire man.

"So..." I awkwardly start. "When do I begin?"

It turns out, that I am a waitress and I start tomorrow at 8:00, the night shift.

F/N didn't have a problem with that. It's just she may leave the house with me entering, looking all sleepy. I'm okay with it. I do, after all, just procrastinate and boondoggle.

Okay and I may take naps as well and make just simple things like oatmeal for breakfast, ramen noodles for lunch, and whatever F/N makes for dinner. I may also make brownies or cookies. I love baking. It makes me feel practical.

And so, here I am, serving at a mostly-monster-bar, and I don't have a single problem with it.

*Crash!!*

There goes that drunk guy's glass. Hehe. I find that the daily people here always end up drunk. It's hilarious to hear their slurred speech and their mind without a filter so they say the first words that come to mind.

"Hey, aren't you purdy?" Then the drunkard faceplants into the table.

At first, that made me uncomfortable, but it sure was hilarious to think of it later on. But then came the unexpected...

"Sup Grillby." Came a deep voice from beside me. I was serving a middle-aged, fish monster, when a certain person called my boss.

"The usual?" He questioned.

"Yep." I then saw Grillby reach from under the counter, for some ketchup.

"Thanks." He said, and chugged the ketchup.

"What?" I mumbled but alerted the skeleton.

"Like what you see?" I lightly blushed at Sans's words, but I brushed it off as surprise.

"More like I am confused." I sat down next to him unconsciously and then met eye contact with my boss. He then gave me a thumbs up and a waving gesture, saying that I was free to talk to Sans. And so I did.

But Sans beat me to it.

"Hey, Y/N." He started after he finished the bottle.

"Yes?" I leaned forward.

"I was just thinking about that blind date we're supposed to have. Maybe we could have it here?" I perked up and my eyes widened.

"Are we allowed to do that?" This made Sans chuckle.

"Of course. Don't let that trans trashcan singer mess with you. I've already heard my end of suggestiveness. I mean what's the deal? I haven't even met you aside from a casual hello and a plan for a blind date. I guess you already got the job, and I've heard that you've already met Papyrus. He was enthusiastic to say that he met my 'future wife.' Heh. I doubt that will ever happen. After all, I am just a sack of bones."

I snickered even if the words before made me slightly hurt inside.

"Welp. How about we have this date now? We do need to ketchup." In response, Sans smirked.

"Never before have I met someone who shares the love for puns and jokes as I do." We both smiled, and then Sans pointed upwards.

"Burgers and fries Grillby..." Sans ordered. "For two." Sans gave a flirtatious grin, but then burst out laughing.

"I can't do it! It's way too early to do anything! What was Mettaton thinking?!" Sans held his head with both hands. "What was I thinking?" He whispered. I then watched him, not sure of what to do. I then decided to pat his back. This made him turn his head to me.

"Look, Sans..." I started off strong, but then I changed it to awkwardness. "I-I also think it's too early to do anything. I am just getting used to my job, but then I am getting shipped... With you. I... Guess we should not really do anything." I thought for a bit, then realized something. "Look. We don't even know each other as it is, so how about we be friends?" The more I thought about it, the more I realized what I said was important.

"Ah gee. You're right! I have no idea if you even like hot dogs or not and I am trying to make a move on you." Sans gets blue on his cheeks. "This is embarrassing me enough as it is, by pretty much, trying to date a stranger." He puts his face into his hands once more, and then I comfort him.

"I guess that's the awkwardness of a blind date. Maybe we need some glasses, because we clearly can't see that it's only to get to know each other better." Sans grinned wide, well, already wider than before. His blue is gone, and his embarrassment has melted away.

He then chuckled, and closed his eyes and pretended to lean back on the back-less barstool.

"Welp. How about we start over? Name's Sans." Sans opened one eye socket, and held out his hand. I giggled and shook his hand.

"Y/N. Y/N L/N."
