Christmas Special Part Three
When the last ghost left, Lynn and Lola were staring at the void in silence. They were each in their thoughts before a hooded figure appeared with two others.
"So you're the last ghost?" Lynn asked. At first, the ghost was silent before speaking in a monotone voice.
Of course. I am the ghost of Christmas future.
The voice frightened the pair before the other two hooded figures started to speak.
We have come to show you your future if things don't change.
Hey! I was supposed to say that.
Does it really matter who says it? Now stop complaining, you're making us look bad in front of the people who we are here to teach a lesson.
Why you...
The two continued to bicker which almost caused both Lynn and Lola to burst out laughing. Before it could reach that point though...the main hooded figure snapped at the pair.
Silence. Why did I even bring both of you with me?
"Uh...So which sisters do you all look like?" Lola said in an attempt to ease the tension between the three. The trio looked at each other and slowly pulled their hoods down to see that the main ghost was Lucy and her two assistants were Luna and Luan.
"Uh..." Lynn started to say before the ghost spoke again.
"Let's just get this over with these two won't ruin your lesson." The ghost said before snapping her fingers and transporting the pair to an old apartment building.
"An old building?" Lola asked. The assistant who looked similar to Luan answered her question.
"This building is your new home after your jail sentence has been completed." The first assistant stated. Before Lola can ask more, she saw an older version of herself walking down the sidewalk to the building. She can see that her older self looked tired and sad.
"Your older self has to work hard to make a living. After all, the news of what happened spread all through the world...hasn't been kind to some of you." The spirit stated.
"Some of us?" Lola asked.
"It depends on whether you guys are remorseful of your actions or knew better." The spirit said before they followed the older Lola inside the house. Inside they saw their parents, Lori, and Lynn inside each looked tired, but still tried to look joyful.
"How was your day at work, honey?" Rita asked.
"It was okay. Lots of people didn't ignore me like usual." Lola said.
"I see. Anyway honey, did the others call you? Our Christmas celebration is about to start." Rita asked.
"No. None of them called me...thanks to learning that Lynn was going to be here." Lola said.
After hearing the conversation, Lynn looked back at the ghost and her assistants with some surprise on her face.
"Can you really blame them for avoiding you? Many of them blamed you for causing their lives to fall apart." The spirit who looked like Luna said.
"Me? They also had a hand in what happened so they can't blame it all on me?" Lynn said with surprise.
"They all had hopes and dreams that were taken away by this incident and needed an outlet. So in their eyes, you caused everything to be destroyed right before their eyes." The second spirit said. Before Lynn could continue complaining about how unfair it was for them to blame everything on her, her older self spoke.
"It's not my fault that they wanted to stay close with...." Lynn began before Lori banged the table.
"Can you stop it? It's been years since you started calling Lincoln that and despite everything that happened...you still have the nerve to blame everything on him?!" Lori said.
"Lori, you can't talk that way about your sister..." Lynn Sr. said before Lola scoffed.
"Go ahead and make excuses for her. I can't take living like this anymore if all you do is constantly make excuses for her behavior. It's clear that she isn't getting any better so I think it's best that I find my own place." Lola said.
"Honey, you can't leave. Without you, how are we going to survive?" Rita asked.
"Typical. All you care about is Lynn and money. For years, I have tried to stick by you with hopes that you all would change, but now...it's safe to say that change will never be an option for you guys. So I'm moving out too." Lori said. After she said that, the ghost transported them back to the black void. It was silence for a while before Lynn started to speak in a quieter tone.
"So without Lincoln...our family broke apart." Lynn said.
"There were more reasons why your family broke apart, but yes. Without repenting, your family all grew apart with many of them refusing to visit any of you." The ghost stated.
"I..I had no idea that my actions would cause this." Lynn said.
"At least you got some understanding of the consequences of your actions, but before we go...we will show you how your brother is celebrating Christmas as well." The first assistant said before they were taken back to space. Only this time, they heard some laughter in the distance. Coming closer, Lola and Lynn looked inside and gasped as they saw Lincoln with his new mother, seven other unknown women and the rest of the sisters.
"So they left the rest of us behind." Lola said.
"At first they tried to get close to all of you, but your parents were still ignorant and in denial, Lynn still thought that Lincoln caused all of this suffering while Lori and you decided to stay and try to change your parents and Lynn. Eventually, they all gave up and stayed away." The second assistant said.
"We need to change this. We can't be separated like this..." Lola said. The ghost and her spirits stayed silent just as the older Lucy spoke to Lincoln.
"Lincoln, do you miss the others?" Lucy asked.
"Part of me still misses them, but....they made their choice about where they stand. Though Lori and Lola may get some forgiveness, but only if they break away from those sorry excuses of parents and Lynn." Lincoln said. Lynn could feel the hatred behind his voice when he said her name and started to cry.
"No. I..I can't let this happen. I can't...." Lynn said before the surroundings got darker.
"I hope that what you have seen has been enough to change your ways. If not then I'll see you in the afterlife." The ghost said before a lone gravestone was shown with her name on it. Afterwards, she woke up and started to sob.
"I'm sorry Lincoln." She said between sobs. Unaware that Lola was basically doing the same thing with Lana trying to comfort her. At the same time, Lucy stood in a dark room surrounded by the spirits who showed the past, present and future to Lola and Lynn.
"Did it go well?" She asked.
"They looked like they did learn something, but...we can never be too sure." The ghost of Christmas Future said.
"I see. Thanks for helping me with my wish. I just couldn't let them go on blaming Lincoln for everything." Lucy said.
"That's okay. We'll always be willing to help if you ever need us." The Ghost of Christmas Past said before they all started to disappear. When they all left, Lucy turned around and looked up at the sky before smiling and saying:
Hope you're doing well Lincoln.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
