4
The night was quiet. A howl broke through the silence, cold and cruel. There was some otherworldly quality to it when it sounded, as if it came from some otherworldly creature.
The sound started Sydney and he woke up. He found he was unable to sleep. It was four and he had to wake up in two hours anyway. He got ready for the day as quietly as he could and decided to work on ol' Busty until sunrise and think.
There was no more sound from the wolf that had howled earlier, but there was the sound of movement outside the townhouse. Something was moving around the house, occasionally putting its hands or paws against the low windows.
Sydney got an uneasy feeling in his gut. A sort of tugging sensation that unsettled him. He stood and decided to take a walk. The air from the window wasn't enough. He grabbed his jacket to cover his chest it wasn't quite long enough to cover his boxers and legs. If he got too cold he would come back into the apartment anyway.
He wondered if he should have a smoke. If he did he was sure Nick would have his head. He decided against it for what felt like the ten trillionth time since he quit. He walked outside and stood with bare feet in the gravel road that connected the apartment to the main road. It wasn't exactly a comfy feeling, but it was better than sitting inside. The unease never left him though.
Twigs snapped and leaves rustled. There seemded to be an animal somewhere nearby, in the small bunch of trees. Then a growl came from the black, 67' Impala that had been given to the two boys.
Then a man emerged from behind the car. He was starkly naked, dressed only in a pair of boxer briefs. His hair was neatly cut, something that would have looked natural if it were slicked back. The man wiped his mouth as if he had been drooling. Red was left on his arm.
Sydney heard the snap and looked over expecting to see nothing. It was probably a small animal like a dog or a raccoon. Instead he saw a half naked absolute fucking unit of a man. Sydney really couldn't resist the temptation to look down, he was only slightly disappointed.
"Uh...where the hell did you come from, you look like you had a bar fight, are you alright? I've had my fair share of jaw punches get some ice cream and add some mint on it. I'll get better, my moms old home remedy for shitty times or aching punches to the face." Sydney said standing straighter and covering his blue shark printed boxers with his too-short-to-hide-anything jacket.
The man looked him up and down, examining him almost like a lion would a cut of meat. A smirk grew across his face and he walked towards Sydney with the grace of a dancer, almost.
"Theres no bars around here, are there? Certainly not ones that let naked men in." He chuckled.
"I never underestimate half naked people in the middle of the night. Who knows what kind of strange shit they've been through." Sydney held his ground. He wasn't intimidated per-say, but he was very uneasy. "Do you need me to call you a cab buddy, before you come any closer and drip your bloody spit on my jacket."
Sydney eyed the man right back. There was no chance this dude wasn't drunk as hell to just stumble around on a cold night like this. Granted, Sydney wasn't very cold at the moment. The guy probably was from around here, got drunk, played strip poker with his friends, got kicked out for being too sexy and on the way here he fell on his beautiful, beautiful face and ended up behind Sydneys car.
Lou looked over at him and tilted his head almost like a puppy. "I'm not drunk, if you're wondering." Lou smiled. "Youre a Winchester? I know this car."
Lou stepped towards him. He had dark hair and skin that was lightly tanned. He was well-built and muscled.
"You've got to be a Winchester. The bastards." He growled.
"The Who?" Sydney asked a little started. If the guy wasn't drunk why was he asking, so strange. "Look I'm not a Winwhatever and where I got the car is no concern of yours buddy. Why don't you skip off to someplace else and bother a girl someplace else if you're looking for that kind of thing."
Sydney was slightly disgusted. This guy probably recognized the car because he'd worked in it. Fucking prostitutes. "It's illegal to practice here you know. Get a better job man, the risk of diseases you could get isn't worth it. I'm sorry about whatever the Winblebers did to you."
"Wha-?!" Lou growled in anger, offended by the idea that the man thought he was some kind of sex worker. He took steps towards him, fast and angry and he got up close to him. "I am in no way or form a sex worker. I know what you were hinting at, but thats wrong." He growled out the words. A pair of canine like teeth could be seen. "You're a hunter, arent you?"
Sydney shoved the man off of him. "Well I'm glad you know that now get the fuck off me you crazy asshole. I don't have a hunting license! If you are going to rob me just fucking do I-"
Sydney went pale looking at the impossibly sharp teeth the other man had. "What..." He said under his breath. He sucked in a gulp of air. What was his life coming to, he must be seeing things. "I may not have a weapon but don't you fucking touch me or I will wake up the entire neighborhood."
Lou furrowed his brow. He let go of the hold he had on Sydney's jacket and took a step back. His large canine fangs were showing still, though he was growling in a more defensive mode.
"You know thats not what I meant by hunter. " he said. He took some deep breaths. Goosebumps lined his naked skin and he was shaking slightly from the freezing cold.
"Look you're cold, it's late," Sydney shivered, "and your probably a little delusional," he ran his hands through his hair. "And I don't usually do this crap, but if you need help I can get some food and blankets and be right back. Then we can talk about this hunting business." He shifted slightly on his feet.
He didn't know why he was trying to help this guy. He was tired and Nick was asleep. They didn't have much, but what they did have was more than this man had right now. Sydney didn't know what he was doing. It was probably the cold, but he took the others hand intending to lead him inside to warmth. "What's your name?"
Lou let the man take his hand and lead him inside. He was shaking still from the cold, wishing he was back in his wolf form, where he would be warmer. His hands were icy cold and slightly damp, as he had been laying on the ground when he had reverted back to his human form. The morning dew on the yard had made his skin damp.
"Lou Terrior." He said. Lou knew his name was somewhat recognizable, as he was the CEO of a large company, but he did not expect the other man to know his name.
"Well Lou, I'm Sydney Colt." Sydney said shaking their hands side to side in a silly manner. "And welcome to Casa Del Colt." Sydney said leading Lou to their living room and quickly into the kitchen so Lou wouldn't drip dry over the carpet.
Nick was inside his bedroom with the door closed, to Sydney's relief. He pulled out some cups and started making coffee. "Sit down there and try to warm up while I get some blankets. And dear lord, please don't rob the apartment. My brother would have an aneurism if he found out I was letting people off the streets home. He might think I'm going back to the-" Sydney cut himself off and shook his head. He went to get the blankets.
The coffee pot slowly started to drip. The kitchen was a lot warmer than outside.
"I dont need to steal from you." Lou said bluntly. He hadnt meant it as an insult, it was meant more to say that normally he was content in life.
Lou hadnt realized how cold he had been until they got inside. His feet were blue and ivory from the cold and so were his hands. He crouched down on the floor next to the heating vent and tried to warm up. His teeth chattered.
He was suspicious of the man. What if he planned to capture him, like the Winchesters had, and hold him hostage?
"Here they are." Sydney said padding back into the room. "Uh..." Lou was laying on the kitchen floor near the heating vent. "Well..." Sydney sighed, if you can't beat em join em. He draped a blanket over Lou and sat next to him.
He wasn't nearly as cold, and he had put on a proper shirt and pants. "About the hunting thing. I don't know what your talking about, but I don't hunt. Blood, ironically enough, makes me a bit squeamish. Not enough to be afraid to look at it, just avoid it if I can." Sydney sniffed and stood.
The coffee pot was half full, and that was good enough. He poured himself and Lou a cup and brought it over.
Lou was starting to warm up under the blanket, laying next to the heat vent. He almost started to close his eyes but jolted awake again. He couldnt let himself go to sleep in such an unfamiliar place, with this unfamiliar man. Lou looked up and smirked. "Hunting. As in..." He didnt know how to explain it.
Sydney handed Lou the cup as the man collected his thoughts. He slowly sipped his home brew and thought of anything but the sweet sweet abs that were in front of his heating vent. He looked tiredly off into some distance and let his mind go numb.
His body relaxed and he guessed he fell asleep, though he couldn't tell when. He couldn't explain the comfort the other man gave off. It was a feeling of relief and connection that was so foreign that it almost startled Sydney. He had only just met Lou.
Lou drank the coffee down in about one gulp, a smile on his face as he did. Lou started to fall asleep once again, his eyelids drooping and his body going more still.
He groaned, half-sleep, and tried to wake himself up. He couldnt trust this man, couldng let his guard down. Letting his guard down could lead to him being killed or captured, as he figured this man knew that he was a werewolf.
Lou ended up being asleep on the floor next to the heat vent within a few minutes.
