I padded through the forest with a small patrol. I sniffed the air and halted. A strange scent drifted to me. " Wait, something is here." I growled. I looked around. Green eyes peered out of a bush. " Come out and face us." I growled. A white and red head peeked out of the bushes. He trotted out. " Greetings, I am Redwood. I come in peace." I starred at him. He seemed young. Around my age. His green eyes glowed in the dim light. Horan growled behind me. " Hush." I growled at him. " I am Olive and this is Horan. We are from Stream pack." I greeted. A scent stuck to him. It smelled like the nursery I had stayed in for so long with Shine and my mother. Pain tuged at my heart. " Are you passing through, or looking for someone?' I asked gently. " I am looking for a pack to join. I have been alone for days. Any company is great." He said his eyes glistening. I nodded. " Follow." I directed.

I lead my pack back to camp. Hare was talking to Blossom. " Hare!" I called running into camp. He turned his head to me. His fur bristled when he saw Redwood. " Who is that?" He growled. Blossom stood by her father, she puffed out her chest to make herself look twice her size. Her siblings tumbled around on the ground next to the prey pile. " This is Redwood. He is looking to join a pack." I said sadly. I missed Shine. Hare nodded. " You will go through many tests. And if you actualy prove yourself worthy we will let you join." He said turning back to Blossom.

I sat watching everyone. Redwood had come back from hunting with Staute and Horan. I saw a starry figure stand in front of me. Shine. Her scent driffted to me. " Stop, everyone needs you. I miss you just as much, but don't mope around. Would a future leader do that? No they wouldn't. Now get up and do something. I miss you. Stay safe and watch him closely." She said fading away. Who was him? Hare, Horan, maybe splocth? I dont even understand. I stood up and walked over to Peppermint. " Guess what! Sage said I was the most gorgeous wolf! Isn't he sweet!" She cheered. I smiled. " He certaintly is sweet." I said quietly. Pain gripped my heart seeing Horan walk away from me.
