Chapter-6 Scrolls of Love
Deathbringer stared at the scrolls in shock. There was one for him,Clay,Tsunami,Sunny,Starflight, and Jambu.
He carefully lifted them up one by one and put them on top of the desk. As he was about to close the drawer, he noticed another scroll hidden in the corner. This one didn't have a name.
He decided to read this one first since he didn't even want to think what was in his.
It read:
To whoever found my secret hiding spot,
If you are reading this and I'm alive and well, please leave it alone. I will find you if you don't. Oh, and in case you hadn't figured it out yet, you are intruding into the Rainwing Queen's property. So yes the consequences will be grave. However, if I am dead or about to be dead, please give these scrolls to who they correspond. It is my last wish in this weird and chaotic world. Thank you,
Glory of the Rainwings
Deathbringer was stunned and in shock. He hadn't known Glory had looked so far into the future. He wondered when she had written these scrolls. Probably when he was asleep, which was rare. She truly was a sneaky dragon.
He also noticed she hadn't put queen when she had signed her name.
He sighed and thought about what the scroll had said about being or about to be dead. She was hurt, that was for sure, but she wasn't necessarily going to die.
Was she?
The sole thought of it made him want to puke right then and there.
She is going to be fine, he thought desperately.
He figured Glory's friends wouldn't come until midday, and Jambu wouldn't return until tomorrow if he took the fastest route... and if he didn't rest much.
He put the the scrolls back in a different drawer. He figured he could give it to the Dragonet of Destiny it was meant for later. He knew Glory had a fifty percent chance of living and a fifty percent chance of well...dying.
He hoped in his heart that she would live, and maybe they could figure out this problem together. Deathbringer had long ago learned that Glory loved to read mystery. Maybe they could solve all this together, just like in the stories she read.
He involuntarily yawned, and realized that he hadn't slept in the last two days to keep Glory calm.
The new Nightwing ruler promised himself he would sleep after visiting Glory and making sure she was doing fine.
He flew lazily now that sleep was catching up to him. He even crashed into a tree branch more than once.
When he neared the healer's hut, he saw lots of Rainwings clustered around it.
"Oh no."
He landed on a spot that was close to the entrance.*Which was hard to find.*
"Make space, Make space!"
"What's going on?"
The Rainwings spread out, revealing the entrance to the hut. Deathbringer looked inside and saw Glory asleep still inside the bowl of warm water. He quickly went in and covered the entrances and windows with giant leaves. This was to prevent from any strangers looking at them. He left a few spots of course, Rainwings needed sunlight for energy so Glory would need plenty for her recovery.
He walked over and sat down next to the giant bowl of stone. He had heard rumors that Shadowclaw had traded it with a Skywing for fruits not long ago.
Deathbringer stared at Glory's face, which wasn't completely troubled but it was somewhat peaceful. He glanced at her talon which was a little swollen and covered in blisters. It was red and had a few pricks where they had drawn out blood. He sighed and blamed everything on himself.
"I'm sorry Glory I shouldn't have run away, now you're here because of me and my stupid coward self," he faintly whispered to her ear.
He then did something he hadn't done since he was a four year old dragonet, he sobbed. He not only sobbed but he also cried his heart out. Because of him everything had gone wrong. Because of him Glory was going to die. Because of him the whole kingdom was going to go down...
He saw his tears crash into the wooden planks and make a heart shaped puddle. Except that this heart was broken in half.
He laid down and for once, he slept the way a normal dragon should. With his head relaxed and his body in whichever way it wanted to be as long as he was comfortable.
He looked up at the love of his life once more before everything went black and he went to the land of dreams.
