Chapter 7: American Girl Is the Girl Version of Chucky

(Author's Note: I was never the type who use this kind of language or say a cuss word seriously. So if anyone thinks the words are not used properly or whatever, sorry But even I don't want to use it, but it has to be used in the story. PEACE)

"Whore."

"Slut."

"B****."

"Hamburger."

Rozelyn blinked. "Excuse me?"

"Well think about, you're cheap, fat and greasy."

"You little-"

"Ladies, ladies," Ms. Adams said. "Until you run out of insults to each other, I think we should discuss why you two are here."

"She stole my key chain, called not only my friends names and their dirty secrets but mine also!" I said.

"And she was being a b****." Rozelyn said.

"You were the b!"

"You're such a goody-2-shoes, that you can't say a decent cuss word to me."

"Yeah I can!" I retorted back.

She crossed her arms. "Well? I'm waiting."

I clenched my teeth. "Ms. Adams hold me down before I knock the botox out of her face in one punch," I growled.

"Now, Juliette. Let me have a say in this."

"Yeah?" I said, trying to blow Rozelyn up using my mind.

"From the statements from the witnesses, Rozelyn was indeed the one who started it."

"WHAT!" Rozelyn screamed.

"Yes!" I raised my fist in the air.

"W-why Ms. Adams?" Rozelyn asked.

"Well compared to Juliette's student record and grades she was never the type to start the fight. You on the other hand..."

I finished for her. "Are a b****."

Then I left the office with a wave goodbye to Ms. Adams.

The nurse handed me an icepack for the bruise under my eye. Thankfully, Rozelyn isn't good with her aim. I gave her a nod of thanks and she left the room.

I groaned then fell back to the hospital bed. I stared at my hand.

"Stupid Rozelyn." I grumbled.

I got pierced with Erik's golden arrow. I just can't believe it! How can the first guy I see is Drew. Drew! Will I really fall in love with (gulp) him? I can't, he's my best friend for years. I don't want funny, reliable, sweet Drew to turn into my crush Drew then turned into my boyfriend Drew. Then my husband Drew.

I slapped my head. What the hell is wrong with me! I can't possibly think of that.

This is exactly why I avoid this love business. My education is waaay more important than my love life. I need to focus, stay on track, I can't make some detour. Especially with Drew!

I felt tears daring to come out. I don't want this, he's like a brother to me. He's kind, hilarious, protective, he's just there when I need him. I remember in 6th grade when I got that D in my science project because my teacher hate my even when I should have earned at least a B. Drew was there, he stayed for dinner and tried to calm my mom down when I showed her my project. I was scared out of my mind that she'll kick my out of the house, but she end up being okay with it. She even gave my teacher a piece of her mind. But what really happened is that Drew was there, he was there when I got the worst grade I could dream of, when no one wanted to give me a Valentine's Day card, or when the other little girls picked on me because I rather read then play with dolls.

I chuckled at that. American Girl is like a girlier version of Chucky, only there is an army of them with designer clothes and accessories.

Drew burst into the my room making me jump. "You're alright, right?"

I didn't say anything, still trying to calm my heart from him scaring my like that.

"Right?"

"Yes! I'm okay! Don't worry!"

He sat next to me. "How can I not worry? My best friend was in a full on cat fight... and I missed the whole thing!"

I punched him on the shoulder. "Is that all you cared about?"

"No," he huffed. "Of course not, it's just not everyday you get to see a cat fight."

"Well you don't have to worry, no one was much help since they were to busy take videos."

"They took videos? Thank you, modern tech..." He gave a sheepish smile. "I should shut up about this, shouldn't I?"

I nodded. "Pretty much."

"I'm just glad you won, and got scott-free." He said with a little envy. "Not everyone who's in a fight can walk away without even one detention."

"Do I hear a hint of jealousy, Drew Turner?"

"You must have lost some brain cells from that fight, Juliette Rivers."

"Wanna bet? I can finish Mr. Kipler's test without so much as a blink of an eye."

"Knowing you, you really aren't bluffing."

"And don't you forget it."

He sighed and touched my cheek. "I was really kidding about caring about the cat fight, I'm just glad you're okay."

I felt myself blush red. "Thanks."

He quickly took back his hand. "School's almost out, you're still up for that offer to letting me drive you home?"

I rubbed my chin. "Let me think, walk home, alone to my house which is a mile away. Or take a free ride with you who will treat me to some food."

"Do I have to?"

"I'm starving," I whined. "I burned off a lot of calories in that fight with Rozelyn."

"Okay, okay. Pizza and some ice cream, you're in?"

"Free food? Why will I be out?"

"Cool, I have your backpack and stuff let's go."

I got up and stretched from the bed. "How sweet, you got my things."

He ruffled my hair. "Why wouldn't I, you're my best friend."

He shrugged his backpack on and held onto my sling bag, gesturing that he'll carry it for me.

"Last one to the car, pays for the other!" I screamed as I ran out the door.

"You're such a cheater, Julie," Drew whined from the distance.

"You're too slow, slowpoke."

Drew leaned back of his car seat, breathing heavily. "You were the one who got the head start."

"But you're the quarterback  of the school's football team, you're suppose to be faster than me."

"Excuses," he sighed.

"So Little Caesar's," I asked hopefully.

He pinched my cheek. "Of course, how can I say no to your pretty face?"

"You can't," I grinned.

He revved his blue Honda Accord.

"Onward for pizza then ice cream!" he yelled as if a battle cry.

"Food!" I laughed.

Okay you can really blame me for not falling for him. I guess the only thing that drove me away is that we knew each other since kindergarten.

"So how was your day at school?" My mom asked as we ate dinner.

I sighed, I hate lying to my mom. "I got into a fight with some girl."

My mom paused, "With who?"

"Rozelyn."

"Thank God, I hate that girl the first moment I met her." She groaned. "I'm glad you finally got to smack some sense into her.

I high-five my mom. She is really one of a kind.

"Sooo, Drew treated you for dinner."

"Yeah, we ate pizza and had some ice cream."

"He is a sweet boy," my mom sighed. "It would be really nice to have a son-in-"

"Mom," I groaned. "Friends, we are just friends."

"I'm just saying..."

"Don't be like Phoebe, mom."

"At least the girl knows love when she sees it." My mom sighed.

"Mom."

She chuckled. "Fine, but if you two end up together, I'd hate to tell I told you so."

I rolled my eyes. "Don't keep your hopes up."

I headed upstairs to my bedroom after I cleaned up the table.

I took a quick shower and slipped to my pjs. I plopped backwards to bed, I was about to fall asleep when...

"I'll seem like a stalker if I watch you while you sleep."

My eyes shot open. I only know one person who has the guts to climb into my bedroom.

"Erik?"

"The one and only," he smiled.

I threw him my pillow. "Why are you here?"

"I was worried about you," he admitted.

I glared at him. "Yeah right, last time I saw you, you were asking Rozelyn about your fan club."

"I was curious, yes. But I was truly worried about you."

I went under the covers, then realized it. "Give me back my pillow."

He hugged it, keeping it away from me. "No."

"Give. It. Back," I threatened.

"But it's so soft."

I groaned. "I'm really tired, give it back."

"I want to ask you about that."

"What? You want your key chain back, I still have it-"

"Not that, I mean yes, that but not that."

I was confused for a moment then it dawned on me. "Ohhh, that. The key chain piercing into my hand then accidentally looking at Drew."

"Bingo."

"What about it?"

"Did it take any effect on you?"

"No, I have a lot of willpower. But..."

"But?"

"I'm starting to look at him... weirdly."

"I see."

"Can you do something about it?" I asked. "Take it back, or-?"

"-I can't," he said cutting me off. "If I or the past Cupids could do that, there will be no such thing as the song, 'Stupid Cupid.'

I sighed with disappointment. "Crap."

I noticed him with a smirk then hide it away with a sad look. "I'm sorry, really."

"So I'll just...fall in love with him? Just like that?"

He shook his head. "Since you didn't take it directly, the effects will slow down. But it will happen sooner or later."

"The effects sure didn't slow down when Rozelyn saw you."

"Well when you already love someone and you get hit by my arrow, the effects will happen faster. The same goes with my lead arrow."

"Then how about if you do that."

"Do what?"

"Shoot me with a lead arrow when I look at Drew."

"What? No, I'll never."

"You have to, I'd rather hate him than fall in love with you."

"You know I'll never do that, even if you ask me, Juliette."

I sighed, "You're right, I shouldn't have even thought about it."

"How long will it take?"

He shrugged. "Well with your current relationship, couple of weeks at the least."

I bit my lip. "A couple of more weeks until... I've fallen in love."

He sat next to me on my bed. "Falling in love isn't that bad."

"You're Cupid, of course you don't see love like that."

"What do you mean by that?"

"You think love is everything, everyone needs it." I said. "Love is the most precious thing you can have, but you're wrong about that Cupid."

 "Love is!"

"No it isn't," I retorted. "To me, love it the most cruelest, most hateful thing you can ever face. Love can make the most innocent person turn dark with hate because of a person they loved."

"You're wrong, Juliette."

I stood up. "No, you're the one who's wrong!"

"Juliette, you just had a bad experience with love. I know-"

I gasped. "How do you know, unless..."

He told me once that he can know anything about everyone, from break-ups, make-up crushes any of that.

In anger I slapped him across his face. "You love-sicken stalker, why do you want to know everything about someone! Ever heard about privacy before?"

"It's part of my job Juliette, I'm suppose to know everything about the person."

"Well you should know when enough is enough. Especially from the quote, too much wisdom isn't good for you!"

"Please Juliette let me explain. Let's talk about your relationship with your-"

"No! The first thing to know about me is this: I never talk about my dad, ever!"

"Juliette, you hate for love is originally caused by your-"

"Shut the hell up!" Tears were coming down my eyes. "I hate him! I hate you for bringing this up!"

He flinched at the word, hate. "H-hate?"

"Yeah, maybe you heard of it! Hate, the complete opposite of love!"

"Juliette don't, please don't do this to me." He muttered, running his hand through his hair.

"Don't do what?" I screamed.

He tried to say something, but I cut him off.

"No, I don't care anymore. Just get out of my room!"

Erik pulled me in for a hug. "Juliette, calm down."

"No, I won't calm down! You need to leave!" I screamed into his shirt.

But he only hugged me tighter. "No, I'll never leave."

I pushed him away and went into my bed, sobbing into my pillow.

"Please, just... go." I muttered though the pillow.

He didn't reply.

I looked up, and he was gone. Just gone.
