No POV

"I may not be able to hold onto my Ponyta, BUT, if I will tie up to him, it will be only about Ponyta riding." Barry said with smirk. on which Dawn and Angie sighed.

"What chances do you think he has?" Dawn whispered to Angie, who shook with her head in not believing.

"If we will end up on the last places, we can stop believing to place in the hall of the fame here." Angie said with sigh and then looked to other water team. Honey blond girl was climbing of her mother's Rhyhorn and Rhyhorn was about to cudle with her again. 

"No Rhyhorn, we will be starting soon, we have to get prepared." Serena said, but Rhyhorn still tickled her. She then reached into her bag and took out pokepuff and gave it to spikes pokemon. Rhyhorn finaly let go of her and started to eat.

"It looks like some fairytale, Rhyhorn to want play like this with Serena. It looks really cute." Bonnie said with gleaming eyes. She then looked to Angie and raised eyebrow. "I thought you would be on third part of the race, why do you want to run?"

Angie made grin and then looked at Ash, who was training with Hawlucha. "We were together on Summer academy in Sinnoh and we had a lot fights and races with each other. We both ended up on first, but this time..." Angie said and her eyes looked like full of flames. "This time I am going to be the one, who will win the race."

"You look you are serious about this." Bonnie said with surprised, but then made small grin. "Isn't one of the reasons, that Barry is barely standing today?" 

Angie then made small angry look at Barry. "One of the reasons." she murmured, but then everyone stopped in what they were doing, when suddenly sound from speakers made sound, getting their attention.

"Please everyone for the first part of the race to get on the beach. Others get on their positions. You have thirty minutes to get on your positions. Good luck to everyone and I only hope for this race to be marvelous."  Sycamore's voice sounded through the whole camp.

"So we are going. I am going to be there first!" Barry shouted and ran with his Ponyta. Barry shouted and ran into the forest.

"Barry! That is for second part of the race! Run at least to the left!" Angie shouted, on which blond hair boy changed his direction without saying a word. Angie and Dawn sweatdropped, while they looked to Serena. "Could you make sure he will get there?" Angie said with no other option.

"It's not like I will get to them so fast, but maybe Shauna on Bayleef could." Serena said and looked to her friend, who made smile and hopped on her leaf pokemon.

"You can be sure, after all, I am going to be faster in this race then you others." Shauna said with big smirk and ridded ahead.

"OH you are so on. I am going after her." Serena said with laugh and jumped back on Rhyhorn. "Good luck guys." honey blond Kalosian said to her friends and rided after Shauna. And as everyone made their way to their direction. Bonnie went with Ash to his direction.

"Bonnie stay with Ash there, don't go anywhere. Promise?" Clemont asked worriedly, but Bonnie waved her hand.

"Where would I be going brother? Just give it all you have got Clemont!" Bonnie said with smile and Clemont nodded and went to the beach on the Tauros with Trevor.

Ash and Angie both ran to their point in the forest with Hawlucha and Pikachu by their sides. Suddenly Ash's pokeball open and Riolu jumped out. 

"Gonna cheer us Riolu?" Ash asked with smile continuing in running and then something hit Ash. "Angie, where is your partner for running?" he asked on which Angie made a grin and took out from her belt pokeball and threw it. Behind them appeared a quadrupedal in black and blue fur and yellow eyes. When it noticed

"I am sad you won't use Pikachu, I thought we would have it as on the summer academy, but at least we will run together." Angie looked disappointed at Ash, but Ash gave her grin.

"Thinks change Angie, but if you want, we can have fight after." Ash said and continued running.

"OH, you are on! Battle between two gym challengers is on!" Angie shouted and Ash laughed as he remembered what they talked about yesterday on the party, before Barry and others went on bigger drinking.

Flashback

"So Ash, how are you doing with badges? Because I have already two!" Barry said and took out his case with badges and shown Plant badge and Cliff badge.

Angie hold her laugh and made eye contact to him. "And don't you want to tell anything else to it Barry?" on this remark, Barry blushed, but Angie laughed. "He had to fight the grass type gym, after he destroyed garden in that gym and Barry had to dig the whole ground in that garden to make it up. And guess what I did have to do after that? I had to just pick a few strawberries to have my gym battle." Angie laughed and Barry pouted.

"How did Barry destroyed that garden. I heard about that those small challenges in grass gym with Trevor, but there was nothing like this." Tierno said and looked at Barry.

"I didn't know, that I can't go in that in gym on bike. I thought I was still outside of the gym." Barry pouted and took another beer and poured inside him fast.

"And so he ended up in his garden." Angie added to it.

"-ait?" Ash said as he stopped drinking his beer. "You are also challenging gyms? All of you?" Ash said surprised and pointed to Barry, Angie, Tierno and Trevor and they all nodded. "Wow, well what I am interested in what task I will get in the grass type." Ash said, on which Dawn giggled.

"You mean like what you had to done in Kanto for a Grass badge there?" Dawn said and everyone made stare on Ash. Messy hair boy sighed and started his talking with being dressed as a girl.

Present

With Serena arriving to her point, suddenly a louder stomping. She stopped her Rhyhorn and she was about to turn around, when a shadowcovered her and a spiky body jumped over her. Pokemon turned to her and on it's body sitting grinning yellow spiky hair boy.

"Hia Serena." Kerten said energetically and waved at Serena with hand.

"You scared me Kerten!" Serena sighed, but Kerten shrugged.

"I wanted to talk to you and this was a way, I thought would make you to see me." he said with bigger grin. "By the way, this is Ferrothorn. My pokemon for today."

Girl from Vaniville town petted her pokemon. "This Rhyhorn will be mine for today." Serena said and Rhyhorn cried with agreement. "And yeah you got my attention so what do you want?" Serena asked as she remembered yesterday how he was acting to her.

"Well, your.... your friend from your team....What was him name?" Kerten said and look like he was thinking, but he did know. "Yeah Ash, that was his name. He came to me today on breakfast and yeah, he wanted to apologize for yesterday morning and soooo..." Kerten murmured something to himself. Serena raised eyebrow at him.

"What did you say?" Serena asked with tilted head. Kerten sighed and took deap breath.

"I say, I am sorry for yesterday. I kinda pushed on you too much so I wanted to apologize so things won't be bad or awkward between us." Kerten said as he looked away and scretched his head. "So are we cool?"

"Well, first thing should be that I would accept your apologize, then you ask this." Serena giggled, but then sighed. "But yeah we are cool." Serena said and rode ahead. Kerten made small smile and made his way on the beach.

"Ready!" Sycamore shouted and all trainers and pokemons went quiet. "Steady!" Some pokemon snorted, but the most visible was Mamoswine on the start. And then silent. Everyone waiting only for one word, which looked like wouldn't be hear.

"START!" 

And with those final words, loud stomping and rumbling started as the first racers started. Louder stomping from Mamoswine, Ferrothorn, Onix to clapping from hoover of Tauros, Sawbucks or just pokemon like spoink.

The race in is the three parts. First for trainers raiding on their pokemon, but they have ride over obstacles, but they can choose which ones. The second was set for trainers to run with their pokemon and they have to destroy things blocking their way and other things. The final part was only about free riding until the end, which is where it is starting, on the beach.

The racers are arriving to the first pair of obsatcles. Pokemon would go through  mud, that would slow them down or go on over stony road, which was about climbing sometimes or jumping. The other things were climbing over abyss, on its floor were mattress to make sure to safe people if they would fall down, by trees. Then there was part with swimming over small pool with water to swim over.

As the all racers arrived they all started to think of the way how to get on ohter side. Dawn smirked as Mamoswine went ride through mud on other side. Clemont looked on others obstacles and he wasn't really looking to go into the mud, Trevor had similar feeling, but both wild bull pokemon from Kantonian looked at each other and then let out roar and ran into it. Other trainers like Kerten with Ferrothorn climbed on the stones. 

Others had a few problems with their paths. Dawn with her Mamoswine weren't as fast, but they Mamoswine wasn't so much slowed down and so she ended up behind her obstacle as the first one, but right behind was Kerthen and continued ahead. 

"Come on Mamoswine. We won't let them so easy!" Dawn shouted and her pokemon cried with agreement and accelerated in his speed. Meanwhile behind them, Trevor got out of the mud as his Tauros shook off the mud and continued. Clemont wasn't very lucky as he would expected, as he fallen into mud and so they got out one of the last one. Clemont snorted as he went after others.

Ash, Angie and Tierno were waiting, who would come as the first one from the corner. To their disappointment, first one was Kerten as he had made sure to go with his pokemon as fast as they could. But before friends could more, they heard much more louder stomping and right behind him was Dawn.

"Mamoswine and Dawn come on!" Angie shouted jumping on place from side to side. Dawn made shining smile and when she arrived in same time as Kerten, Angie started to run with her Luxray, she ran next to Kerten's friend.

After a few seconds, other trainers made their way to them and when trevor arrived, Ash became worried about Clemont. As he looked in the way everyone was appearing, he then saw his second Tauros coming to them. He noticed Clemont, how he was covered in mud and Clemont didn't look happy at all. "YES CLEMONT!" Bonnie shouted from side and Pikachu with Riolu.

Clemont finaly arrived to them and so Ash was about to ask Clemont, but Clemont answered before question with gruffly to him. "Go." and without other words, Ash run.

Bonnie looked surprised at her brother talking. "What is up with you Clemont?" Bonnie asked. Clemont looked somehow stressed out and Bonnie's question didn't help it.

"Nothing Bonnie! I am totaly fine, wanna need something? Go after race to Ash, he will help you." Clemont said angry and turned around walking away without Tauros and any other words.

Ash had big loss against other racers, but to his luck, after a while he caught up to other racers with Hawlucha in fast time. To his surprised, he was already behind Angie. 

"Taking your time Angie?" Ash said with teasing, on which Angie nudged him a little and so both of them laughed.

"You didn't have to destroy those stupid things." Angie said, while looking Luxray, who had a little dust on it's fur. Luxray has just growled with agreeing.

"Well if it is that bad, then I will go ahead." Ash said teasingly and with Hawlucha ran ahead. Angie looked with wide eyes for a moment, but then laughed and ran after her rival. 

As Ash finaly made it to the boy, who was trying to destroy piles of the stones with his Hitmonlee, Ash looked to his right and Hawlucha nodded. And so when they finaly got to the pile, they jumped of each side and jumped over the stones.

Serena waited nervously at the at her part. She knew her part was the longest one, but with no obsatcle by what she saw on the map. Everyone had some pokemon at their part there. Shauna was sitting on her Bayleef, which was bigger then what Ash had. Others had other pokemon, Barry was sitting on Ponyta with roupes around burned ropes, which he tried to tied to his pokemon. Girl, that Serena remembered from Kerten's team was sitting on Onix, Donphan, Gogoat. 

Her looking was broken, when she noticed first arriving racer to them and to joy, it was Ash. He had a lot dust on him with Hawlucha and both of them had something, looking like pink candyfloss. 

"Swirlix were there in a lot of numbers." Ash said as he ran to Serena. Serena giggled, but then prepared for her start. "Go!" she heard Ash's voice and so she clapped her Rhyhorn, who stood up on it's back feet and then started to run. Ash gave her a small lead, she have to use it.

Ash looke as Serena was leaving and wiped sweet from his forehead, as the other racers came, as suddenly from forest jumped Riolu and Pikachu. 

"Hey guys, you ran right after us?" Ash asked smiling, as they nodded. Ash then looked to Hawlucha, who took off last piece of candyfloss. "You did amazing Hawlucha." Ash said, Hawlucha did a pride pose. "Let's go to the end guys, I think we will be able to get there before Serena." Ash said and was about to go.

"You won't wait for me?" he heard behind him, as he looked there, he saw Angie standing there grin.

"Where have you been?" Ash asked with smirk.

"OH shut up. You are bigger then me." Angie said as she joined him in the walk.

"Oh, I was expecting thing like 'You are older and man.'" Ash said raising eyebrow, getting hit in the arm.

"You idiot." she said and they both laughed.

"COULD YOU WAIT FOR ME?" they heard and turned around to see Tierno.

"Oh yeah, sorry Tierno!" Ash shouted and chuckled.

In the meantime, Serena was beeing catch up by other racers.  But still, she had enough time to get into end as the first. She got to the part, where they were racing on flowering field. It looked beautiful. She then remembered what Ash told her. 'Don't think about it as a job or you need. Do it for fun. Feel the wind, look for you surroundings.' And that is what she did. She inhaled fresh air, look around on the beautiful flowers and she smiled. Suddenly, group of Flabébé flew out from the field, which startled Serena and with that Rhyhorn threw down Serena.

"Ouch." Serena grunted, as she ran over with her hand on her back. She then realised, she was still in the race and other racers lost her lead and now she was even getting to lower positions 'Oh no. I can't end up on the worse places in the race. If I tell my mother, that ended up on the last places, she won't let me continue in my journey with others.' Serena was starting to break, when another words came back to her mind. 'Don't give up until it's over!' 

She sat back on the Rhyhorn and they started to get back into fronter positions. That is why she talked about it with Ash. Don't think about it as a job and don't make sure to win at any cost. Do it for fun and even she failed, then don't leave, don't give up. Stand back up and continue. She still had chance. So now, she isn't going to give up, she isn't going to stop. She will continue

She rided with Rhyhorn in big speed. She got around Barry and geting faster. They were already getting to the beach and Rhyhorn looked like it was still getting in bigger speed. She could hear cheering from the finish line She could see girl on Gogoat on the first place and she was still getting faster to her. When she got her side, girl looked at Serena with rised eyebrow.

"So you are Serena." she shouted as they ran to finish line. "I saw back there how you fall. I thought you wouldn't do it with this bad luck, but now, I see why Kerten is trying to talk with you." she said, which got Serena's interest.

"What?" she asked, but girl hasn't answer and instead started to ride even faster. "Come on Rhyhorn, we can do this."

Both girls were riding in the same speed and each time were changing position, who was first. Both of them had determination to win it. But both girls broken from their thinking about winning, by loud yelling.

"AAAAAAAAAH! WATCH OUT!" both girls turned around and there was Barry, riding on the pokemon, that was ending in the shining and from the light appeared evolved pokemon, which was getting in much more bigger speed. And before girls could react, new evolved pokemon jumped over them and broken the finish line in the first place. And with Serena, thinking only about, that she didn't end up first. She wasn't mad for not winning because of the race. She was mad, because she failed to show her mother how traveling with Ash benefited her.
