The Beginning

The buzzer to your alarm clock rings loudly into your ears. You groan and stretch your arm out of the warmth of your bed to stop the noise, but your hand slams onto your mini drawer instead. You desperately try to find the alarm clock to stop the high pitch buzzing, so when you finally hit the right button and your room becomes silent you sigh in happiness, but it gets disturbed when your bedroom door flies open and footsteps rush into your room.

"Wake up, (Y/n)!" Your aunt yells, rocking you back and forth.

You groan and bring your bed sheets up and over your head, trying to block her out. Your aunt laughs and she starts tickling you.

"Come on, get up!" She laughs.

"Stop!" You yell with laughter. "Be gentle with me!"

She pulls down your bed sheets and immediately opens your window curtains. The sunlight burns your eyes for a second and you cover both of them in a hurry.

"I said be gentle..." You whine.

All you can hear is your aunt laughing and then leave the room. You sigh and decide to get up as you're starting to get cold.

After having a quick breakfast you got ready for school and made your way to the bus stop, waiting for it to arrive. To be honest you were getting rather tired and had the constant urge to just walk to school, but the bus finally came and halted by the footpath.

You walked inside and smiled to the bus driver after entering the bus ticket into the small machine. When it gave you another one for late this afternoon, you walked to your usual seat near the window.

After settling your bag down on the ground you looked out the window and wished that today would be a good day. After all it was your birthday.

Your thoughts were disturbed when a scrunched up piece of paper hit the back of your head. The girls at the back started laughing and you could hear the boys give each other a round of high-fives. You sigh and place your earphones into your ears, listening to the music you had recently added to your playlist.

School once again was a bore but it wasn't all that bad considering your friends gave you presents. Zoe and Jake, being a couple, gave you matching teddy bears and a hug. After you had thanked them you walked back to the bus stop and went home.

"You're here!" Your aunt's friend chirped as you open the front door.

"Of course," You say with a smile, "where else would I be?"

"Well don't ponder on the thought, go upstairs and get ready!"

"Ready for what?"

"Your party of course!"

You smile and give her a kiss on the cheek. You didn't change your clothes that much, just wore your usual pants and t-shirt. When you came downstairs your aunt and her friend were holding a cake and smiling at you while they sung the traditional song.

Once you all ate dinner and had cake, they gave you your presents. Your aunt's friend gave you 'How to train your Dragon 2' on DVD, which you was ecstatic about, and your aunt gave you a golden locket.

"It used to be your mother's." She told you, putting it on around your neck.

You smile and give her a big hug.

"Are we going to watch it together?" You ask, holding the DVD.

"Not tonight," Your aunt shook her head, "Outlander is on!"

You smile and roll your eyes. Yes it was an amazing show, but you would constantly hear them singing the theme song whenever it was quiet in the house. Which was nearly all the time. You did like the song, though, and sometimes you would sing it with them. After all you added it to your playlist.

"Ok," You sighed. "I'll head to bed then."

"Already?" Your aunt's friend spoke.

"Yes, already. Trish, I'm not as energetic as you are."

She smiled and gave you a hug and so did your aunt. You said goodnight and went upstairs to go to sleep.

Your room is so obvious to your personality as a fangirl. It has posters on the walls and you painted it blue like the TARDIS. Not to mention you had so much toys and merchandise all around your room that anyone who stepped inside could mistake your room for a geek shop. You didn't care, though.

You changed into your pajamas and lied down on your bed twiddling the golden locket before closing your eyes and fading off into sleep.

In the morning you had no energy to get up, and you couldn't hear Trish or your aunt so you lied in bed hoping that they wouldn't wake up and get you to go to school.

Your luck must've ran out because before you knew it your aunt opened your curtains and started tickling you again.

School was absolute crap and you're pretty sure you failed the math test. Great, now you're going to get a lecture from Trish and your aunt when they see your report card.

You sigh and walk over to the bus stop and cover your head with your school bag as it was starting to rain. You hear a huff and squeeze your eyes shut hoping that your ears heard wrong. Again, your chances of luck weren't the brightest.

"Look what we have here!" Maddy, one of the bullies who torture your life, said.

"What do you want?" You sigh.

She looks like she's pondering on the thought, but then she smiles and points to your hand.

"I want that!"

You look to see that you're holding your bus ticket in your hand. You mentally slap yourself for holding it instead of keeping it in your pocket like you usually do.

"No." You speak.

"What?" She asks.

"You can't have it. Besides, don't you have one already?"

"The more the merrier!" She chirps.

You want to slap her in the face so hard right now, but you try to calm yourself so that you don't get into trouble with her parents or the school, considering her Dad is the Principle. Yet another highlight of your boring life.

"Give it to me!" She barks and grabs your hand.

"No!" You shout and pull back.

"Stop being a stubborn twat and give it to me!"

As you back away you trip over the curb and land on your bottom in a small puddle. Maddy just looks down at you and laughs.

"You're so pathetic." She snatches the ticket from your hand, "Just face it, (Y/n). Pretty people get it better."

She laughs and walks off with the ticket. Why would she even take it from you if she's not even going on the bus? You hate her so much, and it pains you that she referenced a movie without being a true fan.

A car drives past you and the tire hits the puddle next to you, splashing the water onto your body. At first you're too surprised to move, but then you let some of the tears you were keeping in fall and run to the nearest park.

When you get there you sit by a tree and cry. You're not very strong so even the littlest of things make you sad. You hold onto the necklace around your neck and think of your mother-- she left you when you were eight, after your Dad died in a car accident, so you lived with your aunt and Trish. That was eight years ago, funny enough, so you don't really care much about the issue, unless someone brings it up or the subject becomes too hard to think about.

You just want to go home and watch 'How to train your Dragon 2'! You close your eyes and tighten your grip on the locket.

"I wish I was in Berk." You whisper.

The rain had stopped and the smell of the damp leaves woke you up. Where are you? Oh, yeah, you didn't go home last night. You stayed by the tree until you fell asleep.

You get up and dust yourself off until you realise something-- where's the park? In front of you should be a huge playground and there should be houses surrounding you...but there were only trees. Thousands and thousands of trees.

Your breathing becomes faster and you rest your hand on your head.

"What?" You spoke quietly, looking around you.

You decided to walk around until you found the bus stop, but you never did. While walking you never found a path so you just continued to follow the trees. It was like it was going on forever, it was like you were in a forest. How could you be in a forest? This makes no sense.

Something flew over your head which made you duck to the ground. It sounded large and heavy, like a soundless plane just flew past. You look around and then stand when you hear a screech. Perhaps you were dreaming, but there was no way you could imagine the intense heat of a fireball headed your way.
