It was spreading faster than Ebola. I knew it wasn't true. Madison wasn't that type of girl.

She wouldn't be the one to go around and sleep with someone's boyfriend. Especially with Claire's boyfriend.

She knew not to cross Claire. Everyone knew not to cross Queen Bee.

"Did you hear about Madison and Lucas?" I heard throughout the hallways.

Madison hasn't been at school in three days. There were a million and one sides of the story but no one listened to the true story.

The truth was Madison, May, Tori, and I went to Max's party of the year. People got drunk and did crazy things.

Out of the blue Madison and Lucas are in the corner making out. They take things upstairs. Madison told me they just were kissing and of course I believe her.

They went upstairs and he asked her if they could do it. Madison obviously turned him down and he didn't like that.

No one ever turned down Lucas Bryant.

He must've been extremely angry and decided to make an example of her. He told everyone he slept with her and that she has diseases.

I'm not sure how Claire didn't break up with him on the stop. Maybe she was in on it as well.

What he did wasn't right and it was causing Madison to not come to school. She wouldn't return any of my calls.

After school I'm deciding to go over her house.

I took my car and drove from school to Madison house. Lucky for me it wasn't a long drive.

That's when I noticed the 'For Sale' sign implanted into her lawn.

I slowed down driving and pulled into the careless driveway. What the hell? I thought to myself. I got out of the car and examined the sign.

I pulled out my phone and took a picture of the sign. I got back into my car and quickly pulled out of her driveway.

Lucas/Paul P.O.V

I did it for a reason.

I've been in love with Madison my entire life. I was only with Claire because it was like we had to. We were the two most popular people in school.

I was the bad boy and she was the cheerleader that everyone stepped down too.

I was infuriated when she refused to do it with me. It's not something I'm used to.

Rejection.

I based my bad actions on reflex.

Once I started the rumor I had to continue it. I didn't soon regret it until Madison moved out of my life forever. I needed her. She was like a drug and I was the addict.

I tracked her down and found out what school she had transferred to.

This may have been stalkerish but how could I stay away from her? She made me a better person.

That's when I found out about her Clique. That they were using her. That Joey raped her.

I dug deeper into each one of their pasts and got all the information I needed. I got a haircut and changed the way I dressed.

I texted her hoping asking her if she wanted to get revenge on them. I thought this extremely generous act of kindness would make her forget about what happened.

Not.

The night I showed up on her patio I was scared she would recognize me and immediately not want to go on the adventure together.

I began to fall deeper in love with her and she fell for me too.

I couldn't keep lying to her. I eventually ended up telling her the truth and she ran away.

Now I've lost the love of my life forever.
