Hello everyone, and today we're going to talk about a very important part of the story.
The plot.

Now as you can see from a plot diagram, there are 5 main parts to a story.

The exposition: Introducing the characters/setting/problem.

Rising action: All the events leading up to the climax.

Climax: The most exciting part of the book! (Usually answers the problem. And there's always a character change.)

Person: Woah woah woah, WAIT! You mean there's only ONE climax in stories???!!

Yes!

Everyone: -gasps-

Yes that's right wattpad fanfiction writers. There is only one climax in a story! The climax is the most exciting part and there is always a character change!
Which means the character has to FUCKING CHANGE SOMEHOW!!!
So let's use an example...
The climax for my favorite book, about a girl who joins her dads pirate ship, dressed as a boy.
The climax in that book would be when they all found out she was a girl! (It wasn't pretty.)
Because her character fucking changed after that!

After that there's the falling action and resolution (which some books don't have and that's perfectly fine...)

I'm not even kidding. Like, I'll be reading a fanfiction, get to the climax, and I'm like "oh well that was pretty good... I'm assuming the author is going to wrap the book up now since it's the falling actio-
