"Gay"

People constantly label certain characters as "gay" or "strait"
Just bc a guy likes to hang out around other dudes doesn't make him gay (I mean, LOOK AT FILTHY FRANK HE HAS DICKS IN HIS FACE 24/7 AND HE'S STRAIT!!!), nor does it make him gay if he prefers to hang out around girls, enjoys fashion/shopping.

Same thing for girls. If a girl likes to hang around guys, it doesn't make her gay, or a slut. And vs versa.

Why on wattpad do we assign sexualities to characters that... Well, haven't been confirmed to be gay or strait?

And you can be gay and hang around the same sex, I like girls but that doesn't make me a butch.
It just means you're good with the ladies, knowwhatI'msayin? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Like seriously, and what's up with the "gay best friend" sterotype.
I'm gay, and I'm people's best friends.

I have people who have called me their gay best friend before, and I's honestly prefer that they didn't...

Also, I'm surprised with how comfortable people are with their sexualities in fanfics.
Like, I'm pretty open about my panromantic lithsexual ass.
But other people aren't...

So plz don't call people your "gay best friend"
Or tell people they're gay without asking.
That's like me walking up to someone and saying "Yeah, (Name) has HIV."
Or "Yeah, (Name) has a HUGE crush on you."
Or, "Yeah, (Name)'s parents don't make a lot of money so she has to live in a shitty apartment."
Or
"Yeah, name has HIV."

That's all private stuff. And people may not be comfortable telling others yet in fear that they'll be judged. Same goes with telling someone that you don't feel like a girl, or that you're trans or something. It's not right.
And it's being a bad friend...

Also, why are most fanfics that just say "___ X reader" use female pronouns?

It doesn't say X Fem!Reader.

Just reader. Which could really apply to ANY gender.

(I've been trying to use they them pronouns in most if the oneshots I post aside from the yuri oneshots.)

Can't guys like fanfics too?

I mean, can you imagine if our world worked like that?

"Alright, so for this edition of the newspaper we're going to refer to our readers as girls, because lets be honest, no men read the news paper!"

I'm not a meninist or anything, I believe in equality.
Which makes me a feminist.

Like, I understand if you wanna write a ____ x ____ oneshot, and refer to them as a certain sexuality based on who you're shipping them with.

But saying "LOL, ____ is gay!!!" Is kinda strange when they've never mentioned their sexuality...

And what's up with the appeal of yaoi/yoai anyway?
Like, I see girls screaming about it all the time...

They're just two guys, in a normal relationship...
What's so special or nosebleed inducing about that?
I don't see people react that way when two girls are in a relationship in a story...

I will never understand strait people...
Plz, someone explain this to me...
;-;
