What is up with people over using these?

"Hello Jamie-chan!"
"Keito-kun!"

Like seriously, if your character isn't Japanese that's just racist.
And at least half of your readers are just shaking their heads.
Your setting is in america,
And yet all your characters have Japanese names and call eachother kun and senpai when they're American.

Seriously, it's just weird.
And it can get pretty annoying too...
