I know that everyone can be very insecure at times. But to be honest I'd rather have one of my best friends comfort me about it then my significant other.

Usually this cliche leads to either the girl getting laid, or a bunch of mushy stuff.

Not every girl/guy is insecure about everything.
I'm only insecure about my chin, my undereye bags, and the stretch marks on my boobs. But everyone has those.

The point is, having your character be insecure is ok. Just don't make them so insecure it adds a f*** load of drama.
