Can't a character just say "I love you" in english for once?

They don't have to say it in their native language other then english all the time.

Like, are you trying to hide it from everyone else?

"Ich leibe dich."
"Te amo"
"Ti amo"

Why?
Can you not say it in English?
Do u not know how?
