Scarlett POV:

Ashton drives us home. It feels great to get out of the hospital. Finally!!

We pull up and I am greeted by all the workers of the house. As I go into the house I see more and more people. Meagan is holding a sign that says 'Welcome Home'. I really don't feel like a get together but everyone is already here so what can I say. Mekhi helps me out to the back of the house by the pool. He even gets up to fix me something to eat and a glass of tea.

"I want a cooler please." I tell him.

"Babe you can't have alcohol with your medication."

"One is not going to hurt anything." I argue.

"Sorry babe not happening." He says so matter of fact and doesn't raise his voice at me.

I don't say anything, however on the inside I am screaming at him. If other people were not here...like his family I would probably give it to him but I don't.

The sun is going down and I'm so freaking tired. I just want to go upstairs to my bed.

I go to stand up and my legs tremble. "Excuse me, but I think I will turn in for tonight thank you all for coming."

Mekhi stands up and takes my arm.

"I can do this; stay with your family." I smile and give him a kiss on the lips.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes positive." I push past him to go inside.

I make my way to the back door taking baby steps along the way. Everyone is still talking and laughing about who knows what. I manage to get in the house and to the staircase. I look up and damn I never realized how many steps there were until now.

I take one step at a time; I'm on the sixth step up and so far doing rather well. So I decide to alternate feet like I normally do but when I go to push up I fall catching myself. Dammit why does it have to be so freaking difficult. I clench my fist and let out a muffled scream.

I look up and Meagan is staring up at me. "Oh God Scarlett are you alright. Oh God I'll go get Mekhi."

I try to tell her no but she is already gone and out the door. Within seconds Mekhi is on the steps.

"Shit are you alright babe; did you hurt anything?"

I don't say anything because I have this huge lump in my throat where I am trying to hold back the tears. He picks me up and carries me the rest of the way and lays me on my bed. Meagan follows and then leaves telling me good night.

I roll my eyes at Mekhi. "Thanks for helping."

"I'm here babe; just tell me what you need?"

"I would like to get out of these clothes." I laugh.

He smiles ear to ear. "I can help you with that."

He helps undress me taking off my shirt and my bra along with my pants. He leaves my panties on. He walks over to the closet and get out a shirt. When he comes back over I hear him laughing because I am lying down on the bed half asleep.

"Will this work?" he holds up the shirt that I normally sleep in. Well at times like when he is not here. When he is here I have been sleeping naked. I want to do that right now but I don't think he is going to let me.

"Sure." I say as I try to sit back up and he comes over and helps me. He looks down at the bandage along my lower abdomen.

"Babe you sure you are alright, there is a little blood coming through."

"I'm fine; can you just clean it, please."

He pulls off the bandage and then gets a wet cloth to clean it up. Then places on a clean bandage. When he went to the bathroom I heard him on the phone calling the nurse. So I know she will be here sometime within the night. I don't bother saying anything.

I am almost asleep when I see him walk across the room. I feel like he is going downstairs and I call after him.

"Mekhi don't leave me."

He turns off the lights and climbs back in bed with me.

"Can you just hold me; don't go?" He feels so good to snuggle up against and I don't know when I fall asleep but I stay in his arms the rest of the night.
