Scarlett's POV:

It's been a little over a week and I still haven't talked to Mekhi. I've avoided all the messages. I just don't know what to say to him. I do like him don't get me wrong but how do I act on those feelings knowing that his dad is the one that killed my parents.

It's a Thursday and I'm at the Crematory working. I have all the doors locked, however I hear someone trying to get in the back door. I look at the camera to see who is out there and it's no other than Mr. Draven Adler. What the hell does he want? I watch him as he is trying to break into the back door and he happens to have a gun in his hand. I know this is not going to be good.

When he does finally manage to get in the door, I watch him make his way down the hallway searching in a few of the rooms to find me I assume. He knows that I am here because my car is parked out back. When he does enter the room that I am in, I knock him over the head from behind and he falls over on the floor.

I pull his body up into a chair and then secure him so when he does wake up he will not be able to escape from me. I take the gun and place it on the counter and wait for him to come to.

Finally he is waking up and he notices that he is strapped down. He is yanking really hard but not budging. "What the fuck?"

"That should be my question." I come over and stand in front of him. "What the fuck are you doing here?"

"I suggest you let me go."

"Not on your life." I smirk at him. "First you need to answer a few questions before I decide to kill you."

He doesn't say anything so I hit him right across the face and bust his lip, just a little blood comes to the skin.

"Why are you here?" I demand to know.

"You know too much and I should have never let you live."

"Oh so you came here like fifteen years later to finish the job, seriously kind of late for that don't you think?"

He doesn't say anything because he is still fighting with the stupid straps as if he has some kind of super powers and he is just going to escape.

"Well looks like you are in a bad situation because if you think that I'm cutting you loose you're pretty fucked up in the head."

"You will though."

"The hell I will." I go over to grab a scalpel then walk back over to him. "How about you just tell me who put the hit out to begin with?"

"I don't know. I get a call just like you do. I do my job and that's it. No exchanging names and you know that."

I hear the back door open and then shut back and I glare at Draven. "Who else is her with you?"

He stays silent and it pisses me off so I hit him again. "Ok so if I just happen to kill whoever walks in that door you will be alright with that?"

He just looks at me.

"Fine you asshole." I pick up his gun and when the door swings open I was just about to pull the trigger when Mekhi's eyes looks straight at mine.

"What is going on here?" He looks at me and then at his dad who is strapped down and of course bleeding from where I have already hit him twice.

"She is fucking crazy; undo me Mekhi."

He starts to walk over and I stop him as I point the gun at him. "Don't even think about it or I will shoot you."

"Scarlett you're not going to shoot me; why do you have my dad tied up?"

"He broke in here with this gun." I wave the gun in the air to show him. "He came here to finish me off."

He looks at his dad in disbelief. "Dad are you serious; I told you how I felt about her?"

"She knows too much already Mekhi."

"I don't give a fuck how much she knows...she is not going to say anything."

"Really well looks likes she has already done a little something. She is planning on killing me she's crazy dude...crazy." He still pulls on his arms. "Now unstrap these damn things now dammit." He orders him.

Mekhi walks over to his dad and starts to mess with the straps.

"Mekhi don't make me do this."

"Scarlett." Is all that he says.

"Mekhi please I just need to know why? Why did he come after my parents and why does he really want to finish me off?"

His dad looks at me. "I told you already I got a call to do the hit. I did what I was told to do. Zane got the same orders but to clean. Don't you think if he got the orders he would also know who it was from? Have you ever even thought of that you crazy bitch?"

I just look at him and thought of course Zane would know and I bet he does but he also wouldn't tell me.

"Dad please don't call her that again. Do you want me to let you go or not because if you keep talking to her like that I'm gonna let her kick your ass." Then he looks at me. "Scarlett just let him go."

"Really he came here to kill me. What makes you think for a second if I let him go he won't kill me?"

"I promise you he is not going to hurt you."

"Fine but if he tries anything so help me."

Mekhi reaches over and takes the straps off and his dad looks like he was going to try something but he tells him, "Dad just leave; I got this."

Draven looks at me. "Can I have my gun back?"

"No way in hell; I'll give it to Mekhi after you leave and please don't ever show up here again."

I watch as he leaves but he stops and turns around. "Scarlett you know why Zane didn't kill you don't you?"

"Yeah he was in love with my mother."

"Yeah he was but that's not the real reason."

"Then why?"

"You should ask him; its time you know the whole truth." And then he turns and leaves.

"What the hell was that about?" I ask Mekhi.

"I don't know guess it's something you will have to ask Zane about. Now what the hell is going on here?"

"Your dad just showed up here. He broke in and was planning on killing me. What if he tries to another time?"

"He won't." He reaches out for me.

"How do you know that Mekhi, I could walk out that door and he could just shoot me down?"

"I promise you he won't; he knows how much I care for you."

"Mekhi I don't know what this is between the two of us. I don't know how this is going to work."

"We will figure it out as we go."

"Figure what out?"

"You and me." He grabs me and pulls me so close to him that I can smell his aftershave.

But I put my hand between us. "Mekhi I just don't know how to make this work."

"Don't give up on this. I want to be with you."

"Why would you want to me with a crazy bitch you could have anyone and unlike me I'm fucked up?"

"So am I and together we'll just be two screwed up lovers." He smiles and tries to kiss me.

"Mekhi seriously why me?"

He steps away from me and then looks at me. "Because you're like me. You understand me and I don't have to explain to you what I do and why I do it. I don't have to keep secrets from you. I can be me and you can be you. We're made for each other and you know it. And besides I'm not going to just let you walk away from me."

"Mekhi!"

"Scarlett." He whispers my name and then his lips come in full contact with mine and I grant his tongue inside of my mouth and I start to melt.

Between breathes he whispers, "Come back to my place, please."

"I'm not going there your dad is there."

"My dad doesn't live at my place. I have my own place. No one is there so it will be just the two of us."

I don't know why I agree to go but I do.
