You stood there for a moment while you played with the sand with your toes. Everyone was now watching as the four girls all headed your way. You could actually hear Akali laughing.

Rakan: So....what should we do?

Everyone turned to you.

Y/N: Why are you guys looking at me?

Ezreal: Cause you're the leader.

Y/N: What? No I'm not.

Xayah: Well, none of us are. Figure it out, dillweed.

You just sighed as you grabbed your board and turned back to the water.

Y/N: It's a public beach. They want to stay, they can stay. I'm going back to the water.

Ezreal grabbed his board and decided to follow.

Rakan: That's a...great plan.

He quickly grabbed his board and ran to catch up. Xayah crossed her arms and turned back to the girls.

Lux: So those are the Blades? They're pretty.

Jinx: They're pretentious. "Oh, look at me, I can get along with anyone. I'm so pretty and I do cheer. Lala di da!"

Kayn chuckled at Jinx's overexagerated impression before he grabbed another beer. Jinx always had a problem with them. Apparently she used to be good friends with Ahri before highschool came around. She never did tell you what happened, but you knew it had to be bad.

Kayn had Kai'sa in a few of his classes so he became pretty accustomed to being around them. He had nothing against them, but he also wanted nothing to do with them. Like you, he would prefer to keep his head down instead of getting himself wrapped up in their drama.

Did they even have drama?

You sat on your board with Rakan to your left and Ezreal on your right.

Rakan: There's sharks out here, right?

Ezreal: So why didn't you stay back to see what they wanted?

You shrugged while Rakan looked at the water around him.

Y/N: I just don't see the point of dealing with it, frankly. Heads up.

Rakan: Shark?!

You and Ezreal looked at him unamused.

Back at the beach, Jinx and Lux danced to the music playing from the speaker Kayn brought while he and Xayah laughed at her story about what Rakan did. The girls, however, were slowly walking towards them.

Kai'sa: How do you know they won't just chase us away?

Ahri: We don't. But we do have offerings.

Akali: Why are you talking about them like they're some kind of angry gods? I know some of them. They're cool.

The girls looked at her.

Akali: Well, I know of them.

Kai'sa: I'm usually partnered up with Kayn. He's nice.

Eveylnn just rolled her eyes as they neared the fire. Kayn was the first one to notice them. Xayah looked over her shoulder to see what he was looking at and growled slightly under her breath.

There had always been some kind of underlying tension between your friends and the Blades. You never really knew why but it seemed like everyone had beef with someone.

Jinx obviously didn't get along with Ahri. Kai'sa was nice to Kayn and he returned the gesture, but he never actually wanted to be her friend. Ezreal always avoided Akali since he found her way too energetic for his liking. That and the fact that she always beat him in every competition he entered.

Jinx stopped dancing when she noticed the girls all standing there. Lux slowly stopped as well and turned around.

Jinx: Ah....shit.

The eight people all looked at each other awkwardly, waiting for someone to say something. The air was thick with tension.

Eventually, Kayn cleared his throat.

Kayn: Uh, h-hey? Hi.

Kai'sa: Hey, Kayn. Ladies. How are you all doing tonight?

Ezreal: OH SHIT!

Everyone looked back at the water just in time to see Ezreal wipe out while you and Rakan managed to ride the wave out.

Lux: Ah! That looks like it hurt.

Jinx: Jesus Christ, girl. Just fuck him already.

Jinx turned back to the Blades and crossed her arms.

Jinx: So, can we help you?

Ahri looked at her for a moment but it was Evelynn who took a step forward.

Evelynn: We were wondering if we could, hang out? We brought some drinks and snacks.

Kayn stood up at the word snacks.

Kayn: Yes!

Jinx: Sit down!

Kayn: Okay!

Kayn sat back down as Jinx walked over to the girls.

Jinx: We don't want your food or drinks.

Xayah: Eh.

Jinx: Why are you here? The Blades never wanted to hang out with us before. Why now?

Akali looked past her to see that you were returning with Ezreal and Rakan. Rakan pushed Ezreal which he returned while you laughed at them.

Evelynn: Why not? It's like you said. We've never hang out before.

Jinx: And made you decide you want to?

Kai'sa: Well, I know Kayn and he's nice. Plus, you guys seem like fun. Maybe we can all bury whatever hatchet we have and start over?

Jinx: I think...

Y/N: That's just fine.

Everyone turned to you as you all set your boards down. You walked over to the two groups and offered up a smile.

Y/N: There's no reason to fight. We're all here for the same reason.

Jinx: But....

Ezreal: He's right. Why ruin this night with petty bullshit?

You walked over to the Blades and held out your hand.

Y/N: Truce?

Ahri looked back to her friends and they nodded. Ahri turned back to you and grabbed your hand to shake it.

Ahri: Truce.

Evelynn: So....we cool?

Everyone looked at Jinx who was still standing there with her arms crossed. She looked over at Ahri and turned away.

Jinx: Whatever.

Good enough, at least. You turned back to the Blades and smiled.

Y/N: Well, have a seat. Grab a drink. Eat. Do whatever.

Evelynn smiled. This was her chance. Be casual. Play it cool.

Evelynn: Thank you.......

She waited for you to introduce yourself, but you just waved and sat down next to Jinx. You shook your head which sprayed water all over which made her cry out. She pushed you as you laughed.

Jinx: Jerk!

Y/N: Cheer up. We're here for a good time, not a sour one.

You grabbed her and held her against you, getting her soaked with the water that was still on you.

Jinx: Stop!

Y/N: Love me!

Ezreal: What's your poison? Cola, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Corona, I think we have some moonshine somewhere?

Rakan: I put it next to the hotdogs buns.

Ezreal leaned back in he seat and moved the buns. He spotted the jar of liquor and grabbed it before he presented it.

Ezreal: This right here will make you wanna smack your mama.

Xayah: Can confirm.

Akali: Uh, I'll stick with soda. Pepsi, please.

Kai'sa: I'll just take from our stash so we don't end up emptying you all out.

Kai'sa picked up her bag and opened it up before she pulled out a drink for herself. Ahri did the same but Evelynn looked at the jar Ezreal was holding.

Evelynn: What is that?

Rakan: You've never had shine before?

Kayn: It's...rough for first timers.

Ezreal: Wanna try?

You and Jinx looked at her as she considered it. She slowly reached out and Ezreal handed her the jar. You grabbed Jinx as you smiled for what was to come.

Evelynn sniffed it before she took a sip. The burning liquid hit her immediately and she quickly pulled the jar away from her lips.

Evelynn: Oh, god!

Your friends laughed as Ezreal took the jar back. He passed it to Kayn who effortlessly took a drink. He then passed it to you and you took a sip.

You probably had years of experience over the Blades for this stuff.

Akali: I...I want to try it.

You looked at the younger girl and slowly handed her the drink. She took a sip, and winced.

Akali: God! What is this?!

Xayah: I remember my first time.

Evelynn looked at you from the other side of the fire as you talked to Jinx. She needed some why to find out your name without asking you directly.

Time to be sneaky.

Evelynn leaned over towards Rakan which caught Xayah's attention. She narrowed her eyes at the girl.

Evelynn: Hey, could you ask your friend if he could...

Xayah: Ask him yourself.

She pulled on Rakan's arm, pulling him away from her, and shot her a look. Rakan just smiled awkwardly.

Evelynn could literally feel her glare. So that wasn't going to work. Maybe she could just ask someone what your name was? But, that might disturb the truce that you had right now.

Ezreal: Anyone got a light? I lost mine after I wiped out.

Kayn reached into his shoe and pulled one out. He tossed it to Ezreal who caught it. He nodded in thanks and pulled out a pack of cigarettes.

Ahri: So, do you guys normally do this? I never took you all to be into this kind of stuff.

Xayah: We don't do this to rebel or anything.

Lux: But we do occasionally get together to hang out like this. We all work part-time at the comic book shop.

Akali: That's where I recognized you from! I was trying to remember. You're the chick who has those cool batman socks. With the cape on the back.

Lux nodded.

Lux: Yep! That's me.

Y/N: The ones I got you for your birthday?

Lux nodded.

Y/N: Nice.

Kai'sa: So you surf?

Y/N: Yep. Me, Ez, Rak, and even Lux here all surf.

Akali: Have you ever been attacked by sharks?

Rakan: No. But a dolphin did knock Ez off his board once.

Ezreal: Fucking dolphins.

Ahri: But I like dolphins.

Y/N: I do, too. But I love them even more now.

Ezreal: Dick.

You reached into your bag and pulled out a bottle. You popped it open and started drinking before you looked over to Rakan.

Kai'sa: Do you three go to RHS? I don't think I've seen you around Blades.

Rakan: Yep. We ain't fancy enough for your school. Plus, I live on the other side of town so it's just easier.

Xayah: Besides, I hate those uniforms.

Akali: I know, right? I can't even go commando.

Jinx: I hear you there.

Evelynn: Well....how long have you all lived here for?

Ezreal: My whole life.

Rakan: Same.

Xayah: I moved here in 4th grade.

You were sitting in class with Ezreal and Rakan when the door opened. In came Xayah who immediately made her way to the back of the class.

The three of you looked up from your Yu-Gi-Oh cards and looked at her.

Ezreal: Uh...

Xayah: You.

She pointed to Rakan.

Xayah: You're in my seat.

Rakan looked at you and Ezreal.

Rakan: This....this is my seat.

Xayah kicked his rib which knocked him out of the chair. She then took his seat and set her stuff down.

Rakan slowly sat up and looked at her.

Rakan: Wow.

This came as a surpise to the girls. You've been here the whole time? Then, Evelynn suddenly thought of something.

You've been here for your entire life.

You nodded as you took a drink.

Y/N: Yep. Been rasing hell since I was an ankle bitter.

Jinx nodded in agreement.

Jinx: Always.

Akali: So you guys all work at the comic book shop? Do you guys get to read the issues before they come out?

Ezreal: Nope. Sett makes sure we don't.

Your group all sighed. You've tried. You've definitely tried.

But you were starting to feel a bit buzzed and maybe even a bit high. You stood up and unzipped your wet suit before you pulled your arms free. You pulled your wet suit down to your waist which left your top bare.

The girls were surpised by how lean you were. In truth, you eat healthy and you stayed active by working and jogging every morning.

You may seem like a slacker at first glance, but you were actually a very active person.

You walked over to the van and pulled out a hoodie and pulled it on. You sat back down and let out a yawn.

Rakan: Oh, are we sleeping here, again?

Ahri: Do you normally stay at the beach?

Ezreal: Sometimes.

Y/N: I call cuddling with Xayah!

Rakan tried to protest but ended up tripping over himself and falling into the sand. You and your friends laughed while the Blades watched you all confused.

They knew Ezreal, Jinx, and Kayn. They were slackers and they were delinquents. But, seeing you all like this, it made them realize how different you all were outside of school.

But what really caught Evelynn's eye was how you treated your friends.

You cared about them. You were very obviously the leader of this montly crew of misfits.

Xayah: Well, you heard Y/N. Guess he's my cuddle partner for tonight.

Evelynn tensed up at the name.

Could you be....

Rakan: No way!

Rakan shot up to his feet and charged at you. He tackled you out of your chair and into the sand where your beer flew up, slightly splashing on Ezreal and Jinx who bought laughed.

You and Rakan wrestled in the sand a bit before you lifted him up about a foot up and slammed him back down. You got him in a headlock and turned to Xayah.

Y/N: I won! Feel free to wear nothing while we spoon for warmth tonight.

Rakan: You dick!

You got off of your friend and held out your hand. Rakan reluctantly shook it and you smacked his head. You would never do anything with your friend's girlfriend, but it was always fun to mess with him.

Evelynn: Y/N?

You looked up.

Y/N: Yeah?

You looked at her for a moment, waiting for her to say something. But, she didn't say anything.

She was just confused.

Were you someone new?

Or the person she once knew?
