The End

5 Years Later...

You took a deep breath and slowly let it out.

You then opened your eyes. The smell of the ocean was always a familiar thing to you. You grew up around it, after all.

And you always knew that you would come back to it.

As you sat on your board, you looked out at the vast ocean before you. It was calm. Well, save for the few waves that had begun to form.

Evelynn: Seems like we're not going to be lucky today.

You looked to your left to see Evelynn on her own board. You had kept your word and taught her how to surf a year or so ago.

You just really wanted an excuse to see her in a wetsuit.

Y/N: No. Probably not. Wanna head back?

Evelynn shrugged and the two of you began to paddle back towards the beach. Back to where everyone else was.

Today was your birthday.

It was kind of funny to think that you were 20 now. So much had happened since you first left this place you called home.

So much that it made your head turn.

For starters, Kai'sa and Ezreal finally made their relationship official. Lux was heartbroken at first, but they all managed to make up. You were just happy to see that they were happy with each other.

Rakan and Xayah ended up deciding on college together. They were doing well and living together officially. They even invited Lux to live with them as a roommate.

Kayn and Akali were still together. Though, they had more of an on and off type of relationship. Mostly on, thankfully, but they did have their own problems that they were working on. But you knew that they could make it work.

Ahri and Jinx finally made up and agreed to be friends. While Ahri did go to college, Jinx surprisingly decided to become a police officer. Not what you were expecting, but Vi was able to help her out.

You and Evelynn finally reached the shore and walked over to the others. Rakan was tending to the grill which had some food cooking.

You both set your boards down against the van and you began to take the top of your wetsuit off. You and Evelynn hopped into the van for a quick change.

While you stayed shirtless, Evelynn chose to wear your hoodie and a pair of shorts. She looked wonderful as always.

You had to stay with your uncle for the rest of your highschool years, but it didn't feel like it was a long time. It seemed to have passed by in a blur. Maybe it was because you had everyone to keep you sane.

Evelynn and you talked everyday. There were fights, but they were few and very far between. In the end, you both know it was because you were across the country.

As soon as you graduated, you moved back and began taking some classes at the local community College. Besides that, you had begun to help Sett in his new skate and surf shop. Comics were dying out, she he made the step to fully commit to the sports that had given his name so much weight.

And, of course, you were still a part of his team.

Rakan: Who wants a hotdog?

Jinx: Throw me a weiner!

Ezreal: They're children around here!

Everyone looked to Xayah for a comment.

Oh! Xayah was officially pregnant. Yay.

Xayah: Fuck you.

Ezreal just stuck his tounge out before he went back to talking to Ahri.

It was nice to see everyone together like this. While you all still remained good friends, a bond that will never be broken, it was hard to find a time to get together like this. Everyone was so busy with....growing up.

You were proud of each and everyone of them.

Oh, what about Evelynn?

Evelynn worked hard in college to become a good lawyer like her father. She was definitely rocking the suits. She still lived with her parents, the only LeBlanc child to do so, but she never felt ashamed by it. Her parents actually enjoyed having her around.

And being able to kick her out for the night if they wanted some "parent time" alone. They were just as....activate....as always.

Evelynn never minded it. She would just stay with you at your apartment. You now lived next to Sett. It was....fun.

He always invited you over for a drink or a smoke. He just liked the company. But....it was weird sometimes.

Sett: You want another drink, sweetness?

Mom: No thank you, dear.

He was totally dating your mom!

You were conflicted at first, but you were just happy for them. Oh so happy. See the smile? It's there if you look hard enough.

Your mom had ended up recovering a year after you moved back. But the whole time you were gone, Sett looked after her. You respected the hell out of him for it, and you would always be thankful for him.

But now they were together and they were dating and.....ew!

If they were even half as active as you and Evelynn were.....actually, no. You didn't want to think about that.

You were just happy for them.

Look at the smile.

Look at it!

Evelynn suddenly grabbed your hand and began to pull you along. You only smiled as you followed her.

It was nice to be home again. And it was even nicer that you now had a way to help not only yourself, but your mother as well. Of course, Sett had a hand in it.

But the money you got from the competitions and contests that you had entered brought in a steady stream of cash. You never really had any financial problems.

Jinx: Yo, Y/N, come check this out.

Evelynn let go of your hand and chose to talk to her friend, Akali, while you headed over to Jinx.

Y/N: What's up?

Jinx held up her phone to show you a video. It was some kind of skate new site. On it, was a video from your last competition.

Jinx: Your name is getting out there. You might get a sponsorship deal soon.

You just chuckled as you both looked over to Sett.

Y/N: I already got one. But that's pretty cool.

You talked a bit, but you did eventually start to make your way over back to Evelynn. You had to stop and look around, though.

Ahri: So, do you guys normally do this? I never took you all to be into this kind of stuff.

Xayah: We don't do this to rebel or anything.

Lux: But we do occasionally get together to hang out like this. We all work part-time at the comic book shop.

Akali: That's where I recognized you from! I was trying to remember. You're the chick who has those cool batman socks. With the cape on the back.

Lux nodded.

Lux: Yep! That's me.

Y/N: The ones I got you for your birthday?

Lux nodded.

Y/N: Nice.

Kai'sa: So you surf?

Y/N: Yep. Me, Ez, Rak, and even Lux here all surf.

Akali: Have you ever been attacked by sharks?

Rakan: No. But a dolphin did knock Ez off his board once.

Ezreal: Fucking dolphins.

Ahri: But I like dolphins.

Y/N: I do, too. But I love them even more now.

Ezreal: Dick.

Was that really only five years ago? It felt a lot longer.

You found yourself smiling as you watched everyone interact.

Southside and Richie were no longer in your dictionary. A lot has changed in the town to fix that.

Evelynn: Babe?

You snapped out of your thoughts and looked to your girlfriend. She was smiling. Her beautiful eyes watched you as if waiting for a response.

Y/N: Uh, sorry. I kind of spaced. What's up?

Evelynn reached up and playfully pinched your ear.

Evelynn: I asked you if you wanted anything to eat. I'll get you a plate.

You just shook your head. You reached up and took her hand from your ear.

Y/N: Nah. I'm good for now. I just want to enjoy this for a bit.

Evelynn looked to everyone and nodded.

Evelynn: Yeah. It's nice to see everyone.

You nodded as well. She moved a bit closer to you and smirked.

Evelynn: You know, it is your birthday. I guess that means I should sleep over again, huh?

You chuckled.

Y/N: "Sleep".

She nudged you but didn't lose her smile.

Everything was okay. Everything felt right. You were here with your friends and family.

You didn't feel that sinking hollow feeling anymore.

You weren't unsure about your future anymore. You were ready for it.

Whatever that may be.

And you weren't alone.

Evelynn: Hey, I love you, you know.

You leaned down and kissed her head.

Y/N: Yeah, I know. I love you to.

Only five years ago, you two were strangers.

Just classmates.

But now, you two couldn't even begin to imagine a future without each other.

And you wouldn't have it any other way.

The End

It's over.

Goodbye.

Have a good time.

Love you all.

-I.B.
