Chapter 7- Super Nova Part 1

Before this chapter begins, I would just like to apologize for the lack in updates. This chapter has thoroughly stumped me with the worst case of writer's block ever experienced. Hence the reason it is going to be in 2 parts. This is the first and it's very rough around the edges, so feel free to give it to me straight as it were. I would also like to thank you for your patients and I hope to unblock my mind over my vacation I have from work this upcoming week so look for more updates.... (hopefully :)) As always, thank you for reading and enjoy! :)

"Well here we are." Drey said, stopping in front of a silver car.

I glanced up from the ground. My jaw dropped and my eyes opened wide. "An Audi?! Really?!"

Drey laughed, clearly pleased with my reaction. "Yup, she's my baby." He had a proud grin spread across his face.

I rolled my eyes, What a typical boy. "I can obviously tell it's an Audi, but?..."

"2015 R8 Coupe." Drey cut my question off, clearly anticipation it. He walked over to the passenger side door and opened it for me.

I ducked down into the interior of the car, sitting down on the black leather seat. The car still had that new car smell.

Closing the door behind me and making his way around the front of the car, Drey got in still smiling. He started up the car, it coming to life with a quiet hum of the engine.

"So how many girls do you impress daily with this routine of yours?" I couldn't help ask the question that I was mulling over inside my mind. I was surprised by how jealous and caddy I sounded. Closing my eyes tight, I hoped that Drey didn't notice the jealous tone in my voice.

Drey smirked. "Oh loads. Sometime U have more than one at a time. The more the merrier."

My mouth hung agape, taken aback by his answer. I mean I took him to be a player, but that just took it to a whole new level.

Drey laughed, "Please Desiree. I'm not a man whore. I give you my word."

I squinted at him, not quite buying what he was saying. "I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not."

"Good. Keeps things interesting." Drey said as he backed out of the parking spot.

"Yeah... Sure, that or just really annoying." I muttered under my breath.

Drey took us away from campus, towards the more luxurious part of tow. "Did you say something?"

I just stared out the window, watching the buildings fly by. Before I knew it, we were pulling up to the valet parking at The Nova, one of the most expensive hotels in town, let alone in all of Parinthia.

Drey parked the car and got out only to open up my door for me. He even held out his hand for me. "The gentlemen act won't work on me." I said, grabbing his hand none the less. It was pleasantly warm against my almost always cold one.

Drey pulled me out of the Audi, his signature smile on his face. Yes, I've known him for all of ten seconds and I already know his signature smile. I'm sure he's used to it making all the girls swoon. Well this is one girl he won't ensnare so easily.

As I was staring into his eyes, a young man dressed in a uniform walked over and addressed Drey. "Mister Holten, sir, shall I park her in your usual spot?"

"Yes please. Leave the keys with Ali at the front desk. I will be down to collect them shortly." Drey addressed the young man with a different air than before. I wouldn't quire call it arrogance, but rather a sense of dignity. I was taken aback.

Puzzled, I stared at Drey's features, trying to decipher him. For some reason, I was finding him increasingly difficult to read.

Drey smiled kindly at me. "Well let's go get you a change of clothes shall we Desiree?"

All I could do was nod my head and follow behind him as we walked into the hotel lobby. I was too caught up in thought to actually find coherent words.

The inside of The Nova was even more grand than the outside. A giant chandler hung in the middle of the lobby, complemented nicely by a gorgeous marble floor. Even the people walking about were elegant looking. There were men in three-piece suits and women in evening gowns or business suits.

Feeling woefully under-dressed; I lowered my eyes to the ground to hide my embarrassment and to hopefully go unnoticed. Unfortunately, today seemed to be conspiring against me.

"Drey! What on earth are you doing back so early? I thought you were going to be in the gym all day!" A very eager and happy voice sounded in front of us.

Drey stopped walking to address the person. I hid behind him, trying not to attract attention. "Oh, I'm just helping a friend out in a moment of crisis. They won't miss me much in the weight room."

"Who's the friend? Do I know them?"

Drey shook his head, moving over to reveal me to the intruder.

Oh my gosh, this is NOT my day. I looked up and instantly regretted it. In front of me stood a woman beautiful enough to be a supermodel.

She had long, wavy blond hair and beautiful green eyes. She was wearing a classy black sequins dress with a low V-neck cut. As if I wasn't already feeling self-conscious about my cats and sloppy skinny jeans.

"Desiree, Jayden Anderson." Drey smiled, completely oblivious of the obvious look of disdain that quickly spread across Jayden's perfect features.

She somehow managed to scoff out a hello to me as she walked over and planted a kiss on Drey's cheek, as if marking her territory with her cherry red lips.

My chest tightened as she walked away. "I'll see you for our date tonight, Drey."

I cleared my throat, not bothering to hide my annoyance. "Well that was awesome. Can I get the food I was promised now?"

Drey looked down at me, slightly taken aback. "What's with the hostility?"

"No hostility here. Just hunger talking." I started walking away from Drey.

"Um... Desiree, it's this way." Drey pointed at the open elevator.

I walked quickly into the elevator. "Well of course it is. Where are we going exactly?"

"My room." Drey chuckled softly at my attempt to sound disinterested as he pushed the top most number, starting our silent elevator ride.
