Chapter Two
Elsa's POV:
Not a moment later, the girl returned with a young man, probably in his mid-twenties.
"It seems strange to see you awake, rather than lying in a bed sleeping," he chuckled.
I breathed a small laugh. "Right, and you are....?"
"Of course. Allow me to introduce myself. I am King Rilian, son of your friend, King Caspian X." he replied, taking my hand and bringing up to his lips, giving it a small, friendly kiss.
"I'm Elsa, but, I'm sure you already knew that. Um, speaking of Caspian, where is he?"
"Oh, uh, I'm sorry to say, but my father passed a year ago." he sighed, as his bright smile turned into a grim expression. He avoided my eyes, as his boots seemed to become very interesting to him.
"King Rilian, I'm so sorry, I had no idea-"
He finally lifted his head to look me in the eyes, his own brimming with tears. "Really, Elsa, it's alright. You didn't know. And please, just call me Rilian."
"Okay," I smiled, "Rilian."
He began guiding me down the hallways, giving me a tour of the castle: Cair Paravel.
Lucy's POV:
Ed and I entered the doors of Cair Paravel, gazing around in awe.
"Eustace never mentioned this in the letter," I breathed, "It looks exactly the same."
"Hello?" Ed called, "King Rilian?"
A man decended the grand staircase before us. "Yes?" he asked, his brow knitted in confusion. Chances were, he knew us by name, not by sight.
"Are you King Rilian?" Edmund queried, approaching the man.
"Yes," he confirmed, taking Ed's hand to shake, a tradition my siblings and I had started in Narnia, "And who might you be?"
"I'm Lucy," I replied, walking forwards to stand beside Ed, "And this is my brother, Edmund."
"Lucy and Edmund as in, Queen Lucy the Valiant and King Edmund the Just? Friends of my father?"
"Yes, and, we're extremely sorry about your father. Our cousin Eustace sent us a letter telling us some of the events that occurred last time he was here, although he wanted to save the majority of it to tell us in person."
"That's understandable. It is a long story," King Rilian smiled, then his eyes widened, as if with realization, "That's why she's awake! You're here!"
"I'm sorry, what are you talking about?" I wondered.
"Oh, um, it's nothing. You'll soon find out, but, for now, where are your older siblings?"
"Well, Pete was out when we left, but I'm sure he's here by now, though. As for Susan-" I cut Edmund off.
"Su doesn't believe in Narnia anymore." I finished quickly, looking down at my hands.
"Oh. I see."
Ed cleared his throat. "Anyway, how have things been in Narnia lately?" he asked, walking down the halls with Rilian as I trailed behind them.
It just hurts that my own sister no longer believes in Narnia.
The second chapter, my lovely readers! I know it's a little slow right now, but I assure you, it will get very interesting in the next few chapters, don't worry! Anyway, what do you all think of the prologue and first two chapters? Comment your thoughts please!
