169. Odd Sense Of Déjà Vu
The stare down continued....
Max and Ken: (thinking: My opponent is... no joke.)
Their hands were spread out. Prepped for an attack, defend, or counter attack.
Max and Ken: (thinking: It's just like......)
Both well aware of one thing. Their opponent would be difficult.
The question now being... who would strike first?
And then, it begun.
Not with a blow, but rather...
Max: Hey Ken.
Ken: Hmmm?
Max stetched his arm out.
Max: How about a little contest?
Ken: Contest?
Max: Yeah. My electricity versus your lasers.
Ken: Huh?
Those watching the fight were equally shocked.
Rose: Wh... what!?
Julianne: (thinking: That's my boy...)
Tiffany: (thinking: Oh boy...)
And as for Ken...
Ken: Hmph. Sure.
A cocky smirk popped up on both of their faces.
Ken: (thinking: Just as I figured. You would make this interesting.)
His eyes glowed a bright red.
Ken: Ready when you are.
Max: Hmph.
Electricity crackled in his hand.
Max: Yeah
Back with the viewers of said match...
Tiffany: (thinking: Here we go....)
Luke: (thinking: This... is going to be interesting.)
And as for Rose, she hesitantly looked at the both of them, looking left and right at each of them.
Rose: Ummm.. uh....
And then...
Rose: Good luck to both of you!
She shouted it loud enough for both of them to hear. Neither side even flinched or responded. They were too focused on the fight.
Ken: Ready?
Max: Yeah!
And then, the battle begun.
Max and Ken: Now!
Max's electricity vs Ken's lasers. That was the battle.
A bright red light came from Ken's eyes and a vicious blue bolt from Max's hands.
The result?
Both attacks converged somewhere in the middle, intensely colliding with each other.
The result being... a beam battle.
Those watching the battle witnessed a brilliant red light and a vicious blue light coming from the collision of the attacks.
Rose: Woah! So pretty!
Luke: Hmmm.... Yeah, I guess so.
Julianne: (thinking: Be careful.. hon.)
As for the battle, their attacks were evenly matched.
And so, like teenage boys would, they simply upped the ante on their attacks. Both sides increasing their intensity.
The red and blue light grew stronger and stronger before, finally, a massive explosion occurred, both sides shielding their eyes from the impact.
From a distance, a loud voice could be heard
Rose: Max! Ken!
Julianne wanted to yell to, but she stopped herself. She knew better than to say something like that at this moment, no matter how much it bothered her.
And as for the battlers...
The smoke cleared.
Both combatants were fine.
Lightly panting, but fine.
Max: Not bad, Ken.
Ken: Hmph. I was about to say the same thing.
Max: Hmph.
Back with those watching...
Rose: Those two...
Luke: Yeah....
Tiffany: (thinking: She's right. Those two get along really well.)
But the fight wasnt over.
The explosion hadn't just blown them back, it had also blown several of the smaller pebbles in between them away, leaving a moderately open space around them.
Ken: And to think, I was planning on using those rocks to my advantage in this fight.
Max: Well ya snooze you lose.
Ken: Heh.(thinking: Could it be... that he saw that coming? No... unlikely.)
Max: (thinking: Phew. What a lucky break!)
Those watching thefight noticed it too.
Tiffany: The explosion cleared the field.
Luke: Hmph.
Tiffany: (thinking: Now Ken might be at a disadvantage.)
Julianne: (thinking: Max can win pretty easily now)
She then turned to look at the other kids.
Julianne: (thinking: But if these kids are as tough as Max says... it won't be that easy.)
Max: Ok then. Your move?
Ken: Hmm?
It was obviously a joke. Since Max could move more freely, he knew he could end the fight easily.
Ken got the message.
Ken: Oh, I see. Well.. don't count your chickens before they hatch.
Max: Oh?
The smug smiles on their faces only grew.
Tiffany: (thinking: Oh brother..)
Rose smiled. She was happy to see them getting along so well.
Rose: Great job, you two!
Again they heard her, but yet again, they were too focused to even look away.
And then... Max asked an odd question.
