While Tiffany was partaking in something of a mental adventure in the Hunter household....

The battle between Max and Luke had long since already gotten underway....

And how did it start?

About ten minutes earlier....

Max stood in position while Luke walked to his.

At that moment, Ken had many thoughts towards the battle.

Ken: (thinking: Super speed vs super strength.)

That was the beginning of his long thought process right before the fight started.

And perhaps, a question that many till this day do ask themselves.

In fact, it may even be a question that many in the distant past may have asked themselves

It may have taken the form of, what would be better, to have the speed of a cheetah, or the power of a lion.

The answer?

Well... it is not very certain what the answer is.

Super strength means nothing can stop you.

Super speed means there's nothing to stop you.

So, who was to say who would win?

These were, in some sense, the thoughts that crossed Ken's mind as he thought through what may happen in the fight.

Luke made it to his position and crackled his knuckles.

Luke: Y'ready, Max.

Max: (ecstatically) Yeah!

The pair then bowed.

Luke: I'll be holding my super strength back a bit.

Max: Hmm?

He then remembered Tiffany's words about sparring.

Max: Yeah, yeah... sure.

Ken: Alright then, are you both ready?

Both poised themselves for battle as Ken raised his hand.

Ken: (thinking: Well.. this will be interesting.) Go!

This time, not even a second had passed, but Max had already super sped to Luke and jabbed him at super strength, and as for the result, Max found himself in excruciating pain.

Max: Ooooooooouuuuuuccccch!

Luke: Hmph.

Ken: (sighs) (thinking: Did Max just forget that one of Luke's super powers is invulnerability?)

Luke: You're gonna have to do better than that.

Luke grabbed a reeling Max and threw him into a training block.

The throw was, in and of itself, not that hard, as Luke was holding back, but it did still do damage.

And then Luke started towards him.

Max got up quite easily.

Max: (thinking: Man. I knew he was gonna be tough to hit. But...... sheesh. He's almost as tough as Wolfram's crystals.)

Luke: That all you got?

Max: Hmph. No way!

Electricity begun to surge around Max, emanating from his hands.

Max: How about this?

He fired a bolt of electricity directly at Luke. Not at full force, of course, but what Max had considered would be enough to knock him down.

The blast, however, did a lot less than he'd expected. Luke only moved back one step.

Luke: Not bad.

Max: Mmmmm.... (thinking: He's tougher than he looks.) Ok then.

In a mere second, Max zipped right behind Luke and blasted him again.

He only moved a step back.

And then to his side, and then to his other side, and then also, right in front of him, all the while, firing bolts of similar intensity at him.

Ken: (thinking: Using his super speed with his electrokinesis. Not a bad strategy.)

With every blow, Luke slowly begun to lose his footing.

Ken: (thinking: And it seems to be wearing him out.)

Until suddenly, Luke slammed the ground with a tremendous amount of force.

The wave of blue rushed around the room, keeping the shock from destroying the walls, however, the force was enough to send a wave of impact around himself.

Max simply dashed backwards, barely avoiding the impact.

Max: Sheesh. (thinking: That almost got me.)

As for Luke, he pulled himself up, after just for a moment worriedly looking at the floor, making sure he hadn't broken it.

Luke: Heh. I almost had you.

Max: Tch.... (thinking: This guy....)

When fighting Tiffany, he was able to overwhelm her. That was even more true about Rose.

But Luke.... he'd blasted him multiple times, but he didn't even seem to be that damaged.

In fact, he seemed quite fine.

Max smirked.

Max: You wish!

Luke: Heh.

This fight was anout to get interesting. And Max was all about that.

Ken: (thinking: Well Max, Luke, what will you do? Luke can't hit Max and Max can't seriously damage Luke. But.......)

He placed his hand on the room floor.

Ken: (thinking: .... for many reasons, I do believe that, at least for now, Max has the advantage.)
