It was December 24th, the day before the reaping. 16 year old Katniss was worried that she might have to go into the games just like her Prim had done a few years before. Her older sister Prim ( who is 22) tried to comfort her, but it was no use, nothing could calm Katniss down until the end of the reaping. Prim still trying to cheer her younger sister up decided to let her wear her prettiest dress to the reaping. It was dark blue with little white flowers, it was the most beautiful thing Katniss had ever seen. Although it did not make Katniss less worried about the reaping, it gave Katniss a little bit more hope. It is now December 25th, Christmas Day, the day of the reaping and there was very little noise throughout the town( even though thee was never that much anyways). Everyone was getting dressed in their best outfits for the reaping. Katniss, Prim, Caleb ( Prims fiancé), and their dad, Paul were already for the reaping and we're heading out the door when a boy ( around Katniss' age) came flying through the streets in a great hurry, and as he past the quiet family he made eye contact with Katniss, with a quick speed Katniss and the boy( who goes to school with Katniss and is know as Peeta) turned their heads breaking eye contact and without either of them seeing the other blush with a great passion. Peeta kept running while Katniss and her family began to walk along the dirt road to town square where the reaping was being held. Both teenagers went their ways but could not get the image of the other out of their minds.
