Chapter 1: Marbles
If there was one word that Michelle had to use to describe today, that word would be crazy.
She glanced around the enormous room she was in, trying to figure out exactly what was going on.
One minute, she had been sitting at home, looking through her collection of marbles. The next thing she knew, a bright light had appeared out of nowhere and surrounded her. She'd covered her eyes with her hand, and when she could look again, she found herself here.
Wherever "here" was.
She wasn't alone either. Thirteen other kids, ranging in different heights and appearances, were standing around her. They seemed just as confused as she was.
They also were wearing robes of different colors.
Then she glanced down at herself, and her eyes widened.
Earlier, she'd been wearing her favorite blue pjs and white slippers, but now...
Now she was wearing a white robe with gold around the sleeves and hem. Her slippers were still there, thankfully, and...
Wait... what was that in her pocket?
Quickly, Michelle pushed her hands into her pockets, and withdrew two items.
In her right hand was a silver bracelet with strange symbols written on it.
In her left hand was a black bag she immediately recognized: her bag of marbles!
Sighing in relief, she slipped the bracelet back into her pocket, then held the bag close to her chest. No matter what happened next, at least she had that familiar object.
"What is this place?" she wondered aloud, causing some of the other kids to look over at her in surprise.
"Well, isn't it obvious?"
All the kids, Michelle included, jumped at the sound of the unfamiliar voice.
Standing at the other end of the room was a tall man. He wore a simple white robe, a helmet, and sandals... but Michelle noticed the wings on his sandals.
In his hand, the man carried a winged staff with two serpents intertwined on it.
One of the other girls, who wore a similar robe and blue sneakers, gasped softly, and she said "Hermes!"
The word didn't make much sense to Michelle, but the man nodded in response.
"Very good, Angelika," he said, sounding impressed, "It seems I chose well."
"Chose?" Michelle asked, now extremely confused and more than a little angry, "Exactly what the hell is going on here? Where are we, and how did we get here?"
The man-- Hermes, if his reaction was any indication-- raised an eyebrow, but his smile never faded.
"Well," he said calmly, "to answer your questions, Michelle, you're in Olympus. The palace of the gods, to be exact. All of you have been chosen to..."
He paused briefly, and his smile faded a bit.
"...to replace us."

A/N: Hey, gurls!
So... I have no clue how this story is gonna go, but... well, I'm gonna try it. We'll see how well this goes.
Also, the A/Ns will be after the chapters are done. That way, there's less interruptions.
Luv you all! *blows kisses*
