Chapter Nine: Derek's Life

I arrived at the High school to see Scott and Allison talking to one another by her locker, and I knew what today was for Allison her birthday. I did some snooping on her family, but Lydia was the one who told me that it was Allison's birthday. I smile as I approach her and Scott, she sees me.

"Happy Birthday!!" I said to her, embracing her in a hug.

"How did you know?" She asked, stunned as we pulled back from the hug, she eyed me up.

"Lydia," I simply replied as she chuckled. "But I won't tell anyone, but you should have fun, let loose. You need it," I state as I rolled my eyes to the side, indicating to Scott behind me. She just smirks, before I went walking off to class. I walked into class, sitting beside Stiles who was already in. What a nerd. But a cute nerd. He had a yellow highlighter in his hand, and a chemistry book in front of him. As he just began to highlight the stuff he needs to know.

"Just a friendly reminder Parent/teacher conferences are tonight. Students below a C average are required to attend. I won't name you because the shame and self-disgust should be more than enough punishment," the teacher states as he walks down the way of the class. Luckily, my grades were amazing, in all of my subjects, A* star student. Well living so long you pick up a few things over the centuries.

The teacher stops at mine and Stiles's. "Has anyone seen Scott McCall?" He asked but just looked at Stiles, as he slowly rose his head up looking side to side to see if he could find him, but no luck. Before Stiles' eyes met the teachers but the door opened then closed. Jackson came into the class, and maybe his way over to his desk, as the teacher came over to see him.

"Hey, Jackson. If you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know," Jackson just nods his head at him, but he didn't look too well. "Everyone, start reading Chapter Nine," he states as I flipped the chemistry book open and began to read Chapter Nine, taking notes also.

"Mr. Stilinski. Try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs. It's chemistry, not a colouring book," the teacher states, but I couldn't help but smirk at his comment. I see Stiles look up and spit out the cap for the highlighter, before catching it in his hand.

"Hey Danny. Can I ask you a question?" Stiles asked, leaning forward so Danny could hear him.

"No," he replied, not turning around to face him.

"Well, I'm going to anyway. Um, did Lydia show up in your homeroom today?" He asked Danny, but he just huffs at him, but I know Danny a bit, he would tell Stiles.

"No," he states again, before looking down at his book and continuing his work.

"Can I ask you another question?"

"Answer's still no," Danny replied, just looking at Stiles out of the corner of his eye.

"Does anyone know what happened to her and Jackson last night?" He asks, he was very forward with his questions. But I did hear about the accident with Jackson and Lydia last night, but I wasn't there to see it.

I had missed the conversation that just happened between them both as I was lost in my own thoughts. "One more question?" Stiles asked Danny. I'm surprised he didn't snap at him, I would have done.

"What?" Danny finally snapped at him. Spoke too soon.

"Do you find me attractive?" Stiles asks. I railed my head up from the book to look at him leaning so close to Danny, almost touching him. But Danny doesn't say anything, and Stiles just kept leaning closer, until he fell off his chest and bumped into Danny, making him look at him.

"Stiles," I said as he turned his head to look at me. "Sit back down," he looks at me with a wearily look, before placing his stand back up and sitting back on it.

.................................

Lesson had finished and Stiles went his own way and I had a free period to kill. I made my way through the hallways, and passed the boys locker room. I heard a commotion in the locker room, and the door slightly open. I peered my head around the door, to see Derek and Jackson talking.

"No, but you saw something, didn't you?" Derek asks as he creeps closer to Jackson.

"No, I did- I didn't see anything," Jackson quickly rushes out, scared out of his mind.

"What was it, hmm? An animal? A mountain lion?" Derek states edging closer to him.

"I didn't see anything. I swear. I'm--I'm not lying," Jackson states, his heart beat picking up and beating so loudly. I could hear it from the door.

"Then calm down and say it again," Derek states, as his voice was calm.

"Say what? That I'm not lying?" Jackson rushes out, not clear what Derek was doing.

"Tell me that you didn't see anything...Slowly," Derek's face inches from his. Jackson takes a second to compose himself, before he was ready to speak.

"I didn't see anything...I'm not lying," Jackson states, but I could hear his lips tremble with fear. They both just stare at one another, for a few moments.

"One more thing," Derek grabs Jackson's hair, and pulls it to the side, making his head go down, but I couldn't see what he was looking at. "You should really get that checked out," he states before turning to head for the door, but I quickly vamp-sped away, before he could see me.

This wasn't good...

.........................................

The school day had finished, and I went to go see Derek, see if he would talk to me about Jackson. My feet crunch against the leaves and the twigs in the woods, the Hale house coming in sight, it burnt to a crisp. I walked up the steps of the house and pushed open the door, to see no one in sight.

"Derek," I shout from the doorway, before stepping inside the house, closing the door behind. "Hello?" I pushed further into the house, and took the staircase, resting my hand on the post at it's side. I smirk to myself, as I hear him behind me, thinking I wouldn't know.

"What do you want," his voice rang out behind, making me spin on my heels to face him, unfazed by his sudden appearance. My eyes scanned his topless body, his rippled abs visible to see. A smirk tugged on my lips, as he went over to the living room and jumped up on the beam, and started to do pull ups.

"Well I want answers," I finally stated as he did a couple of pull ups on the beam, he was just showing off.

"Well I can't answer them," he states as he continues to do his pull ups on the beam.

"Well answer this then. What did you want with Jackson early?" I asked, as he dropped from the beam, and went straight to the floor doing his push ups. "Come on. I saved your life Derek, at some point you'll have to trust me," I state the truth as he then started to do one handed push ups. I groan as he didn't answer me back, but then suddenly stops, and looks to the left to where the door laid.

Before I knew what was happening, I was in another room that lay next to the stairs, and then I heard the front door kick open. I heard the floorboards creak under the weight of three people, as I heard three heart beats. Derek held me against the wall, his hands placed at the side of my head on the wall, his eyes staring directly in mine.

"No one home," a man's voice pierced my ears as they came to a halt.

"Oh, he's here. He's just not feeling particularly hospitable," a woman's voice came into play, and I knew who it was straight away, she smelt like Allison, so it was her aunt. Kate.

"Maybe he's out burying a bone in the backyard," the man states, making a dog joke. They were trying to piss him off.

"Really? A dog joke? We're going there, and that's the best you got?" Kate states, clearly not amused by the guy's joke. "If you wanna provoke him, say something like... Too bad your sister 'bit it' before she had her first litter," Kate states trying to get him angry, and it was working. I could see his muscles tense up, tightly as he didn't want anyone to mess with him right now.

"Derek don't," I tell him quietly, as he looked at me before, he became a little less tense.

"Too bad she howled like a bitch..." Kate starts, as they walk further into the house. "When we cut her in half!" She shouts, and he had it, he growled really angry. He came to the doorway and threw the guy that was near it across the room, hitting the wall next to the door.

Shit!

I peered around the corner to see him jump over the stairs and then I could hear the other guy go down without even fighting Derek, and the only one left was Kate. I slowly made my way out of the back room, and along the side of the staircase, making sure I was quiet. As I reached the end of the staircase, I peered up from my position, looking through the bars on the railing of the stairs, to see Derek on the floor, and Kate walking around him.

"This one grew up in all the right places. I don't know whether to kill it or...lick it," she states sarcastically. How I hated that bitch. I could just rip her head clean off her worthless shoulders. But I couldn't, I wouldn't do that to Allison.

I watched Derek struggle to get up, but instead he crawled across the floor, trying to gain his footing back but it was no use. I kept low and out of sight. In a moment of strength, he tried to attack her again, but was shocked again by the rod, then went backwards falling off the step that went on the living room. She laughed as she watched him, powerless against her.

"900,000 volts..." She starts examining her rod, before looking back to Derek. "You never were good with electricity, were you? Or fire... Which is why I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. And, well maybe we can help each other out." She states, coming closer to Derek, before leaning on the couch that was in the living room.

"Yes, your sister was severed into pieces and used as bait to try and catch you. Unpleasant, and frankly, a little too Texas chainsaw massacre for my taste, but quite true... Now, here's the part that might really kick you in your balls--" she states, her eyes never leaving Derek's face. I just noticed that Derek had gotten himself up against the door frame. "We didn't kill her," her heart didn't blip or any upticks, so she was telling the truth. So if she didn't kill Derek's sister someone else did...

My mind cast back when Stiles, Scott and I found her body buried in Derek's garden. I had noticed that it had bite marks on, so it must have been an animal...Then it clicked...It was the alpha who had killed her, but no one knew who it was, and Derek would have killed the person who was it, but he hasn't. So he didn't know either. I had missed their conversation as I was in my own thoughts, before I was brought back to reality.

"Wow. Guess who just became totally useless?" Kate states, before shooting a gun load at Derek, but he had already ran off before the bullets hit him. I slid down the stair wall, and hid behind as bullets came zooming past me, but then stopped. I look to my right to see the one Derek knocked out first slowly regain himself. I quickly held my necklace, as a spell came to mind.

"Invisique..." I state quietly, and I could feel myself becoming invisible to the human eye to everyone. Just as I see Kate look around the corner, and stare down the hallway seeing no one in sight, but I was right there, she was just looking straight through me.

Boy that was close...
