Birth
"Today is so boring."
"You say that every day Tohma."
Tohma rolled his eyes, stirring his finger in the water that showed the mortal realm. The woman who had answered him braiding starlight into the curls of her hair, gently nudging him with her foot.
"Ugh but Prissa it's true! Every day is just another day of watching these little beings do the same things! Can't we sprinkle just a little chaos?"
The sound of a smack vibrated around Prissa and Tohma who stiffened and glanced up at the sleekest almost elven woman, wise eyes staring into the young male.
"Your 'little' chaos is the reason dinosaurs are extinct, not to mention we have strict rules not to intervene with the mortals unless necessary."
Tohma groaned and dragged his hands down his face dramatically,
"Not even a sprinkle of chaos Lilao?"
"Not even a speck."
Another sigh slipped from his lips as Prissa waved her hand towards the globe, smiling genuinely.
"If you're so bored of watching mortals in their daily lives you could always watch the strings, maybe Irra will show you how she severs the soul."
"Sitting around watching new strings and old strings connecting across the globe? No way, your job is more boring than mine!"
Lilao shook her head at the two with a gentle chuckle while gliding to the globe, watching the billions of strings float and connect before looking up at the sky, the stars of the Libra shining brightly.
"Where is Irra?"
"Pfft, where else would she be? She's only severing strings when her precious scrolls appear otherwise she's creating new stars."
Tohma bit into his nail, chomping at it loudly as Prissa tensed starting to dig her hands into her dress. Lilao left before the twins began to fight and created a veil of stardust upwards, silently walking upon the youngest. Irra.
The little girl floated on stardust beneath her trainers, pointing towards the stars unaware of the eldest sister.
"Irra."
"Ah! Lilao! You scared the nova out of me, is everything okay?"
Lilao raised an eyebrow,
"I could ask you the same thing, you're not by the globe."
"Oh! I already severed all the strings on my list today!"
The elder sister sighed and opened her mouth when a shout called out from below, Tohma sounding concerned.
"Lilao!? Irra!? Come quickly!!"
As they swiftly made it into the room they saw a glowing spark on the globe, it burst and fizzled like a firework.
The light illuminated softly against the skins of each sibling, it was small but bright and reflected in their eyes. Prissa asking first,
"What is it?"
Lilao clasped her hands and answered.
"A new string."
Tohma lifted his head smirking almost giddily, the light slowly starting to dim.
"Now this is interesting."
At that moment a string lifted into the air, it was thicker than most and had silver intertwined in the fibres. It would look red maybe brown to most eyes but it was undeniably unlike the vermillion red all the siblings were accustomed to, it floated unconnected in the air.
Tohma raised an eyebrow,
"A new red string?"
Lilao shook her head. "Not red...not exactly, it's...Cherry."
Quickly Irra grabbed the string and pulled a small fibre out, racing it to the rippling water of sight, gently stirring it around and dropping the fibre inside.
A vision appeared of a woman with tangled hair holding a bundle of blankets, a gentle smile on her face. The vision focused on the baby in the blankets, her eyes opening as if she knew the stars were watching in the brightest shades of blues.
The baby's eyes were the purest forms of colours with very faint freckles speckled across her cheeks and nose, she was as silent as a dewdrop on a flower petal.
"Chloe Amber Elizabeth James."
The Nova-Star Children spoke in sync,
"Chloe, The first bearer of the Cherry String."
