Chapter 6

(A/N: I think about Hiccup's car as a Chevrolet Suburban 2016.)

After yesterday's events, they both agreed to, - rather awkwardly - drive to Astrid's house and gather a few more of her belongings and clothes that she might need for a longer stay, - when packing before, she hadn't put down her cheering clothes and necessities.

Arriving to her house, she had asked him if he wanted to wait outside or come in and he had thought about it for a second before asking if he could hose the porcelain and Astrid had burst out laughing.

"Jokes aside, I really need to pee so can we get going? I didn't plan on watering the inside of my car today," Hiccup said and tapped his hand on his thigh.

Astrid's laughing haltered and she looked at him for a second before realizing. "Oh. Oh! Yeah, of course," She started and opened the door, getting out.

Trotting up to her door, she fiddled with her keys and waited until Hiccup walked up to her. "The bathroom is the second door on your right. I'll be back soon. Make yourself at home until then," She said and walked off to gather her things.

Hiccup nodded and made his way towards the bathroom to relieve his very small and very full bladder.

Astrid walked into her kitchen with a bag of her things thrown over her shoulder and found Hiccup standing there, drinking a glass of water.

"Oh, if you don't mind, I helped myself for a glass of water," He said before drinking the last gulp.

Astrid shook her head.

"No, no, be my guest," She responded, adjusting the strap on her shoulder.

His lips tugged into a small smile as he cleaned and dried the glass he'd been drinking from and put it back into the cupboard.

"So, you're ready to get going?" Hiccup asked after a moment or two in silence. Astrid nodded as she leveled out the drawstrings on her hoodie.

"Do you have everything? Phone charger? Essentials? Shampoo and all those stuff?" Hiccup asked and Astrid nodded while he labeled each thing. She took a double take when he mentioned shampoo and quickly ran off to retrieve her shampoo, conditioner and razor.

Hiccup raised his voice and told her he'd be in the car until she'd finish up properly.

He heard her mumble audibly something about showing him how to finish up properly and he chuckled as he made his way outside to the car.

Two and a half songs later, she finally stepped outside and locked the door behind her, wearing an apologetic smile on her face.

"Sorry, I realized I had run out of the shampoo and had to look for a new bottle in the cabinet under the sink and I knocked everything over in there and just...gahhhh," Astrid rambled before running her hands through her hair and exhaling.

"Hey, calm down. It's fine, really. There's no need for you to stress like you're gonna miss the bus. We have nowhere to hurry so take a deep breath and relax," Hiccup told her, his voice calm and reassuring.

"I know. I just hate making people wait," Astrid replied, buckling her seatbelt and taking a few deep breaths like he told her to.

"As I said, it's fine," Hiccup told her as he started the car and began to drive to the end of the road, - the dead end - to turn around and head to his place.

The road was fairly silent other than the music playing softly from the speakers.

While the route from Astrid's house to Hiccup's wasn't long, the weather suddenly doing a 180° and going from sunny to cloudy and rainy really changed her mood and she felt exhausted.

Hiccup offered to make food for them while she cozied herself into blankets on his couch before a small movie night.

Warm food, cozy blankets, movie and a cuddle buddy had been too good and Hiccup predicted that she had fallen asleep just in the middle of Forrest Gump.

Finishing the movie, he had carried her to bed, cocooned in the fuzzy blanket and cleaned away the dishes before giving Toothless food and going to bed.
