Chapter 27
The early autumn sun shone into the room, giving it a soft light that slowly pulled the auburn-haired man out of his slumber. He awoke slowly but didn't open his eyes.
As he felt the weight of his girlfriend shift beside him, he smiled.
He cracked his eyes open and looked down onto the blonde in his arms. Her hair was sprawled out onto the bed behind her, some of it hanging down the side of the bed. He smiled and tightened his grip on her, his arm laying under her head and his hand around her shoulders.
If he had to be honest, his arm was numb and it felt uncomfortable but he didn't have the heart to wake her up.
"What's with you and staring at me while I sleep?" Astrid asked suddenly and smiled, moving her head and burying her face further into his chest, wrapping her arm around his waist to pull him closer to her.
"I don't know, maybe I love seeing you, M'lady," He said softly, breathing out a laugh as she pulled her face back from his chest to look at him.
Her nose scrunched. She groaned and moved to sit up, rubbing her eyes. "I wanna take a shower," She said and looked back at him.
"Then go and take a shower, babe," Hiccup said and sat up, rubbing his eyes too. "No one is stopping you. I think I have plans for us today anyway," Hiccup said and looked at her.
Astrid turned her head to look at him and her brows furrowed. "What? Plans? For what and with what?" She asked, curious. Hiccup smiled and looked at her. "Well, back two years ago, I got to know a few people and we've been friends ever since. I got to know them through my cousin and I guess...you need to make more friends so I thought we'd go on a small drive with them, today."
"More friends? Wow, thanks babe," Astrid deadpanned, looking at him with a non-amused look. He laughed at her. "I just want you to get to know more people. It'll be fun, I promise."
"Fine. But, if I don't like them, I'm walking home, from wherever we are," Astrid said before getting out of bed and going over to a drawer and getting out fresh clothes before exiting the room.
"Fine."
Hiccup sighed with a smile and shook his head before picking up his phone. He noticed the low battery and put it in the charger before selecting a few people on FaceTime and called. A few signals later, Snotlout picked it up, looking dead tired. "Dude!" He started before yawning. "It's 10 AM, go back to bed!" He yelled and then, both Fishlegs and the twins picked up, being in a much happier mood than Snotlout.
"Good morning, Hiccup!" Fishlegs said and smiled.
Hiccup smiled back and switched the phone to his other hand. "I have an announcement, guys. I met this girl in school and I want you guys to be friends with her. She means really much to me but don't judge her. She's...suicidal and I don't want her to be lonely so I want to have a meet up with you guys today to get to know her. Can you guys meet each other in the park at 12 PM? I'll pick you guys up there."
Everyone in the call nodded even though Snotlout groaned. "Okay. Great. 12 PM at the park."
Then, they hung up.

The car engine started and Hiccup looked at his girlfriend. "You okay, Astrid?" He asked and looked at her. She was holding her wrist, biting her lip. "Yeah, I'm fine. I didn't do anything...I just kind of regret going what I've done. They will be staring at me, won't they?" She asked and looked at him.
Hiccup reached his hand across the car and grabbed her hand, looking her straight in the eyes.
"What's done is done, Astrid. We can only look forward and try to forget the past. I don't know if they'll stare but you don't have to worry about them judging you. You're the most normal out of them all, I swear. Snotlout's ego is bigger than his brain, the twins are completely fucked and they pull the worst and corniest jokes ever while Fishlegs is the nerdiest out of all of them," Hiccup explained.
Astrid laughed and pulled her hand away from his and slapping the back of his head softly. "As if you're not a nerd. You read on your computer and geek out over dragons, - speaking of it, what are you even doing on that Thor damned computer of yours?"
Hiccup laughed and turned back to the steering wheel, slowly pulling out of the driveway and onto the road before beginning to drive to the park that was located a few miles away from them.
"I honestly don't know what the heck I'm doing seventy-five percent of the time, you're asking the wrong person, baby," Hiccup laughed out, earning another slap. "Ow! Okay, fine, I'm writing something but I don't want to spoil anything."
Astrid groaned and turned back to look at the road.
The next few minutes were quiet before she saw them near the park. Getting closer, she saw s small group of people standing by a tree, chatting away. "That's them," Hiccup said before slowly starting to pull over beside them.
Astrid bit her lip and put her hand over the scars.
The doors to the car opened and in came the four of them. A few moments later, the whole car burst into a laugh. "Maaaan, why do I always get the most uncomfortable seat?" Snotlout asked, sitting behind the twins on the lonely chair in the far back of the car.
"Not funny. So not funny."
"It is funny, Snotlout. Away," Hiccup started and paused for a second, slowly turning back to look at them. "I want to introduce Astrid to you guys. She's my girlfriend," He said with a proud voice, his face gleaming with happiness.
Astrid slowly turned backward and was met with big smiles.
"Hello, Astrid," Fishlegs said along with the twins. "Was about time you got yourself a girlfriend. Thought you'd die alone as a cat man," They joked.
"Ha, ha, ha, hilarious. Fuck you, Tuffnut," He said, not amused at all. Astrid cleared her throat and Hiccup looked at her.
"Right," He started and rolled his shoulders. "You guys ready?" He asked and looked back.
All of them said yes except for Snotlout, - sitting in the most uncomfortable chair, - Hiccup nodded with a smile.
"Great. Off we go then."
