Chapter 3
As soon as you walked into your classroom, you froze. Shaun was right on the other side of the door, imagine if you'd ran into him!
"Ah, sorry!" Shaun moved aside for you, and when you went inside the classroom he left, seeming in a hurry. Huh, I wonder what that's all about... you thought.
Shrugging it off, you turned to your seat but only to find Kokichi sitting in it.
"Oma-senpai?!" You exclaimed in surprise.
"Nishishi~! Surprised to see me?" Kokichi just laughed grinned.
"What are you doing in my classroom and in my seat...?" You demanded.
"Mmm, that's a good question I can't answer!" Kokichi chuckled, standing up and skipping away.
"Kokichi's kinda attractive..." Aiko thought to herself.
"Weren't you oogling over Shaun yesterday?" You raised a brow.
"I only said he's kinda attractive! But Shaun is so cute!!" Aiko chirped, clapping her hands together, "I wonder if he likes to go shopping like me! Or if he picks flowers and smells them! Or-"
Aiko didn't finish her rant because the bell rang, and slowly students began to file in. Everyone took their seat and soon lessons began, as was quickly becoming custom. And yet before you knew it, it was lunchtime.
You took your seat on the steps like yesterday, though you were surprised that Kokichi didn't join you. You figured he'd join you again, until you reminded yourself that he probably had other friends too. You shrugged and began to eat alone, but you were a bit surprised when a couple minutes later Aiko approached you.
"Hey (L/N)-san, can I sit next to you?" Aiko asked.
"Oh, um, sure!" You smiled in a friendly manner.
Aiko took a seat next to you and began eating her lunch, which was totally American style...
"Don't you think you're trying a little too hard to impress Shaun? It doesn't even look like you're enjoying the food..." You pointed out by the fact her nose was kinda wrinkled.
"No no, it's really good! It's just... I smell something really bad. Maybe it's just me," Aiko sighed.
"Aiko, come on. Shaun's not gonna like you if you try to be like him when you don't even like it. Maybe he'll even find it creepy..." You tried to reason with the girl.
"That's right!" Aiko gasped, "if I'm myself that means he'll see how honest I am and like me, right?!"
Before you could react, Aiko stood up, abandoning her half eaten lunch, and dashed off somewhere. "Ah, Aiko! Your lunch, and no running in the halls!"
It was too late for the girl, however. Unfortunately a student council member had seen it all and she was in trouble... ouch. You felt bad as you had to watch her walk back with the student council member to her lunch, pick it up and then follow them to the student council room as a punishment was decided. Usually it was cleaning the bathrooms on cleaning day or detention...
About ten minutes later you had to return to class, and Aiko's spirit seemed crushed. You felt bad for the poor girl, though you didn't know what to do. You had to watch her nervously tap her pencil or chew on her hair that she normally had too much pride to do any of those things.
When school ended you were going to comfort her, but you were seriously surprised to see that she had all her energy back! You approached her in a bit of confusion, "Hey Aiko, you seemed pretty down in class but now you're all peppy! What happened?"
"You won't believe what happened! Shaun told me that me breaking the rules was pretty cool!" Aiko giggled.
Immediately you realized how dangerous this could be. "Aiko, don't listen to his influence! The rules here are strict and you know you can get expelled just for ten minor offenses!"
"That's why I'll break them outside of school! Ah, but I need to invite Shaun first so he sees me in action!" Aiko dashed off.
You let out a sigh. This girl was hopeless, and why did you care so much? Sure, you were good enough friends to be on a first name basis, but you should let her learn on her own!
