The Rahisi Ways

Semmy was not as concerned about learning from Suada Panthalis as her nanny had feared. She would always remind Semmy of her past whenever she was scared as a twee agon.  When Auster got sent away, she told her that she would be everything her family was for her.

"I will be your protector, your comforter, your friend, your nurturer. I cannot prevent you from crying or reverse your tears, but I will hold you as they fall, and I can be the one you lean on"  she had told her that day, and for many days after.

The old coliseum was at the edge of the Zeneth. Which is where she needed it to be, because if Semiramishe was seen using rahisi - it would be obvious that she was Chosen. On the surface, no one would care much - but deep under the tides of the political atmosphere, it would create a large target on her back in the upper castes for fear she would wield her power against them.

The location was also perfect simply because she was Fum'Oto. As a exiled clan they were not allowed to use rahisi or their djartte forms within any city limits, and the punishment for doing so in Zeneth were higher for nadiren were not allowed to use rahisi or Djartte in Zeneth in any case. For Fum'Oto the punishment could even be execution.

The Old Djahar coliseum was abandoned hundreds of years ago due to a battle that had terribly damaged it. The coliseum itself was massive. Molded of red clay bricks it extended to just under two-thirds the size of the Amedia. Now much of it overgrown with foliage and the tiles crumbled to reveal the sand and grass underneath. Almost half the eastern wall was caved in so you could see the massive Palace City in the near distance.

It was more than expansive and removed enough of  a practice space for dragon much less a human.

"So you are here" Suada closed the massive doors behind her.

"Bright and early, slower feet - thicker meat" Semmy smiled.

"Well, first thing first. You already know that every thing on Terah has rahisi. Even a stone."

"Even evil insects" Semmy added with a comical grimace.

"Hesh, hesh, but quiet" Suada smiled, enjoying her scion's humor. "Therefore taking Djartte drains it. Yet, only after having Djartte for 5 years and turning 20 are..most.."she paused considering Semmy's situation, "able to use it outside of their bodies, and use what we call ikono. " She took off her shawl and sat down cross-legged on the ground, patting it to invite Semmy down with her.

"So, I already have enough Rahisi unlocked to do both?" Semmy both stated and questioned.

"To put it plainly... Yet.. let us dive a little deeper down. You were born, with much larger stores of rahisi, and as you have grown, your channels are now finally wide enough to allow you to use it. For most, the channels get wider as they grow, but the amount of rahisi steadily builds until there is enough to send through the channels. Our bodies have 8 portals through which we can send rahisi to the outside world. Two hands, two feet, two eyes, one mouth, one heart.  Some, claim that the third eye, where our consciousness lives in our mind - is a ninth portal - which they call the Heaven's Gate." Suada smirked, "but we will discuss that later."

"Not a 'when you are older' discussion." Semmy rolled her eyes, and hunched over to look at Suada.

"Ehem" Suada coughed and Semmy straightened back up. She began once again "When you use Ikono - you are channeling Rahisi through those gates. Your Ikono are how the Rahisi is translated as it passes through the portals. The representation of the Rahisi that you transmogrify through your channels. You know you can transform your body into shadows or smoke. That is what we call - an  Na'ama Ikono.  Or the the Inherent Gift. All Yzhen Fum'Oto have this ability. "

Semmy  closed her eyes and tried to listen to Suada's voice. The pang of hurt she felt thinking that now it was only her and Auster was distracting her.

"I want you to breathe slowly and focus on how it feels to do it. Where does the Rahisi flow from?"

Semmy was still trying not to be sad, but in that moment it was like she could hear her heart thumping. Her feelings of hurt welling up seemed to pulsate from within her. The embarrassment she felt, the shame from the thought crying now made her want to disappear. If she could jump into a deep black hole and stay there  away from everything. The same feeling she felt the first time it happened.

En Amora (The Heart) A voice seemed to whisper to Semmy from the inside. "The Heart" Semmy said aloud, confident it was the answer.

"They call the heart, the Unya Hezo" (Infinite Pool).  "This is because the heart is fed and lives by pumping the blood in your body - without the blood the heart dies, and without the heart the blood withers. This is the pull and push of the rahisi through the heart portal. Those who master this gate, are said to have an infinite pool of rahisi as long as their heart beats." Suada felt a chill go up her spine as Semiramishe's rahisi slowly released.  The sheer magnitude of the power seemed to envelope the area and Suada fought the urge to kneel before it.

"Then it is good that it is my first one, because I am going to need all the power I can get." Semmy spoke softly. She felt herself calm and feel the rahisi build in her heart as she anguished in her heart for the fate of her Gyn and her family.

"Now, push the rahisi down to your torso, and further down your legs. Keeping your breathing steady." Suada firmly directed.  "When you are ready, guide it through your feet and unleash it."

Semmy took a deep breath and pushed the rahisi through the soles of her feet. Instantly it was like all the shadows around her were connected through what was almost like veins. She followed a vein to a shadow on her left and felt herself transported there.

She wasn't just where the shadow was, she was the shadow. The world was encased in darkness but she could see out from what could only be described a foggy window.

Suada gasped for a moment and stood up. Semmy had completely disappeared.

Is that a normal Fum'Oto ability?  She tried not to panic.

Then a black hand began to reach out of the shadow cast to her left by wall of the coliseum. The hand disappeared. Again.

"Over here"

"Oaah!" Suada gasped as the young agon was now standing behind her.

"What's next?"  Semmy smiled, she was certainly enjoying herself now.
