Chapter Three: A few years later

Hey guys! Back with another chapter here. I've been trying to come up with a plot for my other book but nothing hasn't been working out for the best up here.

Anyways, please enjoy the story. I will keep this strictly in Chaos' point of view unless I say otherwise.

Like if you want, comment if you need, flames? Keep them to yourselves 'cause no one gives a shit.

"Ah hell."- "Speech"
'Get 'er good!'- 'Thought'
"REALLY?! I DIDNT NOTICE!"- "SARCASM"
Help us!- request missions

_____________________________________________________________________

It's been a few years since I've joined the guild. I've gotten used to the regular brawls as they happen everywhere but the bar. I've been staying with Mirajane for the first few months before I bought a small apartment in town. I'm still working on the house that I'm currently building just outside the woods. Not too big but not too small.

Everyone was kinda nice. Few weren't seeing as I literally looked like a homeless person, Laxus for example, but I payed no mind as I just stayed reserved most of the time.

When I first started out, I did some of the harder and more faraway jobs on the downstairs request board and those usually took me a few days. After awhile, the old man announced something called the S-Class trials. I was picked alongside Erza, Mirajane, Laxus, and this one sketchy individual named Mystogan. Apparently the trials was for those who pass, are allowed upstairs and can do the more harder missions up there. It started out as battles against eachother, those still participating had to find the master. For Mystogan, it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Laxus and I seemed to have little trouble with it though, but him and Mystogan fought each other till they both fell over from exhaustion, while I sat there watching the two and studying their movesets. I was promoted by being the last man standing and I was cool with it.

After that, nothing really changed. I continued doing missions, Mira, Laxus, Mystogan, and Erza became S-Class mages, and Natsu started asking me for training.

But there was one major change that impacted everyone really hard and especially Natsu.

Lisanna's death.

All of us S-Class mages were on a mission at the time and Mira was the only one present. She had to take an emergency S=Class mission and took Lisanna and Elfman on the mission with her. Once I came back and found out about the mission, I went after them, seeing as how they were like my siblings. But when I got there, I was greeted to the sight of Lisanna being swatted away like a fly due to a Failed Take Over*1 Elfman. Once that happened I knocked Elfman out while releasing the beast's take over on the poor man. When I went to see where Lisanna was sent off to, there was nothing left. Only Mirajane crying and magic barrier particles floating into the sky.

We told the guild later that week when we got home. Everyone looked devastated, but none more so than Natsu. And I could understand why. He lost his first friend in the guild and quite possibly his girlfriend. It must've pained him more than anyone else because he knows loss more than probably anyone considering how many times he was left behind. But not only that, he wasn't allowed to come because of Elfman's stubbornness.

After awhile Natsu started coming back to how he was again, but it wasn't the same. It was evident when he didn't want to get involved in the guild brawls and started taking missions back to back. I finally snapped him out of it and he broke down on me. I took him to the apartment so he could relax while I just listened to him. It hurt me too, feeling as if I just lost a little sister. But when he said that he was weak, that was the breaking point. I punched him across the face and explained that Lisanna wouldn't have wanted him to be sad. She would want him to be happy. Then he finally went back to the Natsu he once was.

Mirajane also had a huge change. She went from the Gothic Sadist to the Pretty and Nice bartender of the guild. Gone was the goth clothing and in came the dress as well as an occasional job as a model for Sorcerer's weekly. It was odd, seeing someone you view as a sister in those... revealing... clothes and poses.

I am now inside the guild at the bar drinking a beer while listening to all the commotion going on around me. Natsu insulting Gray, Gray stripping, Laxus scowling at everyone, and Erza eating cake. I threw a mug at Jet and pointed to Droy, as if saying that he did it. He then ran over to the plant mage and sent him flying into other members which caused another guild brawl. I sighed as I finished my drink and started walking to the stairs. As I walked by, the brawlers stopped what they were doing, really freezing in place, making a pathway for me, then resumed to what they were doing. I chuckled as I went up the stairs.

The only person who actually hangs up here in Laxus seeing as he sees the guild as, "weaklings."

"Yo. Faggot." I called out to him. He always got ticked off when I called him that and it made me laugh every time.

"What do you want, Chaos? Your ass kicked?" He retorted, trying to get on my nerves. I just laughed him off.

"As if you could beat me. Why don't you at least try being social, instead of hating everyone just because your dad's exiled?" I told him. That's the main reason why he doesn't like people. Mainly because of his dad was kicked out for causing almost fatal injuries to one of the members.

"Fuck off you prick." And like that, he was gone in a flash of lightning.

I could only shake my head as I walked towards the request board. A few missions sticking out to me, but none more than one. And that was to help a town that was being harassed by dark mages.

"Huh? That's odd." I wonder how long that's been there for. I don't think about it more than needed but I grabbed it anyway. To me it seems surprising for a town to just send out a request, and I had no choice but to grab it. I couldn't help but feel like this is a trap. That's why I grabbed it. In case it is, no one else would grab it and be caught up to where we would lose another member.

"Old man! I'm taking this one!" I told Makarov. He looked at the job and nodded. "Alright my boy. I'll let them know you're on your way." He replied as he grabbed his lacrima phone to contact the town the request was located from.

Scene Change

I finally made it to the town where the request was taking place. Already people were giving me weird looks but I didn't respond to them. I only pulled out my lacrima music player, plugged in my headphones, and started playing one of my songs while looking at where to go for the request.

'The town hall, eh? Sounds a little fishy to me.' I started climbing some buildings to scan the area. See if there's anything that seems out of place or if there's some dark guild members roaming around causing problems.

Nada.

I then start to look for a building that sticks out the most to see if that was the town hall. I only see a church and another building but with some strange designs on it.

'That's new.' I didn't give it much thought as I finally found the town hall. But already, just something about the scent of the place smells evil. As I walk in, the Mayor greets me with a big smile that I immediately knew was fake. Strike one. You can't trick the master of someone who has been acting since he finally joined civilization again. But I'll let you try just to see how far you'll get.

"Why hello!" He shouted with fake glee as he shook my hand. "You must be the Fairy Tail mage that accepted our request. I will show you around so you can get comfortable while I give you a mission debrief."

He showed me around the building, pointing out all the important artifacts that were here since the village started. But he kept fumbling over his words as if he was trying to figure out the right words to say. 'Strike two.'

Alas, we finish the tour and he brings me back to the office as he fills me in. Not only does he give me specific times for when they start harassing the village, but as well as how many members they guild has as well.

"And how do you know their numbers, may I ask?"

"O-oh! Uh. Well that's because different ones come every night and it goes like that for four days."

"And how long has this dark guild been a problem for your town?" That was the pitch that either keeps him up for bat, or strikes him out.

"They started attacking a few weeks ago. We sent out a request after about the second to third time it happened and you're the first to respond." Huh. So not the answer I was expecting. But still. Something about him just seems.... off.

"And last question. Where may I find their guild?" This is the last question. As long as he doesn't answer wrong then he-

"You can find it in the clearing on the south side of town." Welp. Guess who the master is? Just kidding. I'm coming back for him later.

"Thank you." And with that, I left to find the guildhall. It wasn't that hard really. It was like he said, in the clearing on the south side of town. At least he wasn't lying. But man. Something seems off about him.

-Scene Change-

The guild was exactly where the mayor said it had been. The mages never really posed that much of a challenge. The real on though was trying to avoid the cracks in the walls and the holes in the floors. Now that was hard considering that all I had been doing was using their attacks against them and sending them into their own members.

The strange part was how that the master was nowhere to be found. Not only that, but the whole place smelt like the mayor. Odd.

Oh well. I'll just have to confront him about it.

Speaking of which, I don't think timing could ever be as brilliant as it is right now. Here he is just walking out towards me as I was walking over to the town hall. Perfect.

"Thank goodness that you made it back alright! I'm surprised to say the least, that you made it back h-" he couldn't finish seeing as how I grabbed his face and dragged him back to his office. Oh no. You're not hiding no more.

Once we made it there, I threw him into his chair and slammed my hands on the desk with a stern look.

"Why the hell was your scent all over the guildhall? And don't tell me it's because you have been brought there for questioning. I want the truth. Now." I continued giving him a scowl as the words came out. He only gave a terrified look, but it disappeared as quick as it came.

"I should not be surprised that you found out. But now that you know..." he pulled out two daggers from his back. With a maniacal smile on his face, his next choice of words did not surprise me, "... I HAVE TO KILL YOU!" He charged towards me while throwing the dagger in his right hand towards my head.

Thinking quickly, I spun around the dagger while using my momentum to throw a kick that hit him in the stomach and sent him straight back towards his desk, ultimately destroying it. He didn't seem to care though, as he got back up and continued his original plan. He threw his other dagger at me. Time slowed as the dagger advanced towards my eye. A deadly scent of magic came off of this one and I barely had time to quickstep out of the way of the dagger's trajectory from hitting me in the face.

'That scent! It's poison! Can't let him hit me with that or else I'm stuck in a grave!'

I charged towards him but as I was throwing my punch, he pulled a knife off the desk and did something unexpected...

He stabbed me in the eye.

"AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGHHHHH! FUCK!" I yelled from the top of my lungs as my left eye was bleeding and nothing was visible from it. Shit.

In my rage, I grabbed a bottle that was sitting on his desk and slammed it against his face, knocking him down. I didn't even give him enough time to get back up as I kicked him in the side again, hearing a few cracks. That didn't matter though. I quickly kicked him in the temple, successfully knocking him out. Immediately I grabbed some cloth and some hydrogen peroxide to numb the pain and stop the bleeding. With that done, I grabbed his unconscious body and dragged him to the Rune Knights which were waiting outside.

"Thank you Chaos. Do you want one of my men to treat that for you?" He said, pointing towards my eye.

"No need, Commander. It will be alri-" i couldn't seem to finish my sentence as a sharp pain went through my skull. Out of the stabbed eye, I started seeing visions, visions of the future and what is to come. A war, one that will break trust and bonds between members of the guild. Friends will turn against eachother, people will die, be it friend or foe. The worst part, I didn't get a chance to see who the mastermind of it all was before I was brought back to the real world.

"You sure you're going to be alright?" Lahar continued to ask. He had a worry stricken look on his face. I told him that it just needs some time and I already know someone who will do the trick for healing it.

"Later Lahar." With that I disappeared in a poof of magic.

JULY 17, X784
0830 hours
ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF MAGNOLIA

As I appear in front of a shack hidden in the appearance of a tree, I gently knock three times against the oak wood frame of the door. I hear someone yelling "go away"'s or "not those humans again"'s towards the door. I repeated the action and just silently waited. I want her to be surprised.

"Dammit brat. I will kill you if you are still there when I open this door!" As I hear the locks release, I am greeted with abroom breaking over my head, all from a salmon haired old lady named Porlyusica. When she saw who I was, her eyes went wide and she threw me into the house.

"What the hell happened to your eye, young man?!" Was the first thing that came outta her mouth. "And you owe me a new broom!"

"Listen. I didn't take account that someone would be able to stab my eye out to the point to where I can't see. Cut me a break!" She only shook her head and started making an antidote for me to use. In the meantime...

"Put those wraps around it. I'll see what I can do to help you, but no promises on getting your sight back." I could only nod my head and tell her thanks before I made my way back to the guild through the forest.

While walking, I hear the sound of a twig snapping beneath someone's foot and I am immediately alerted. I look around my surroundings and notice one of the bushes moving more than it usually should. Sneaking around it, I see a girl with silver blonde hair, brown eyes, and a slightly tanned skin. She is wearing a (sorry for poor fashion sense. Feel free to comment on what this character (Crystal, you know which one I'm talking about) should wear) blue and white t-shirt. Her pants are a pair of jeans that are a little torn up from previous battles in this forest. Her scent was not of a human's, but, it was so familiar. Not only that, but she appeared to be about my age.

After my inspection, I simply sneaked up behind her and tapped her shoulder. Her reaction was not, yet completely what I expected. She quickly turned around and smacked me so hard, that I went flying into a tree that was twenty feet away and made the right side of my faced numb.

"Well shit. I haven't felt a hit that hard since Gildarts and I sparred." I was rubbing that side of my face, trying to get some feeling back into my cheek. The girl just slapped her hands over mouth and muttered some sorry's.

"I'm so sorry sir! You just startled me and my first reaction was to punch first!" Poor thing. She looked as if I was about to kill her or something. Except, what I did, was not what she expecting at all.

I laughed my ass off.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Y-you should see the look on your face right now!" She only went red from embarrassment. "Listen, lady. You have no reason to be afraid of me. In fact, you're stomach should be filled with pride as you took down one of the strongest mages of the strongest guilds out there. My name is Chaos... Chaos... Dranigon. And who might  you be?" I watched as her face go from uncomfortable, to pride, to shy.

"My name is Sky. and I'm a Fairy looking to join Fairy Tail." she says with so much confidence I've ever heard from someone as shy as she is.

"Well, Sky. Today must be you're lucky day. 'Cause you just ran into a Fairy Tail mage."
