Chapter 11

Here's a token of Love as you guys showered so much of love on the previous chapter ❤️

“Saana Di, aap kaha ho?!”

Sidharth's brother’s voice came through the phone, filled with urgency and distress. Saana’s heart raced even faster.

“I’m at home… What happened?” she asked, anxiety tightening her chest.

“It’s Sidharth’s ex-wife… She suddenly showed up, and she’s causing trouble, trying to disrupt Shree’s life,”

he explained quickly, his words almost tumbling over each other in his panic.

“Sidharth is trying to handle the situation, but she’s saying all sorts of things, and Shree is getting really upset. We don’t know how to calm her down!”

Saana felt a surge of protective anger and fear at the mention of Shree being distressed. The thought of Sidharth’s ex-wife, who she barely knew, trying to hurt Shree in any way made her blood boil.

“I’m coming right away,”

Saana said firmly, grabbing her things.

“Just try to keep Shree away from her until I get there. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

Without waiting for a response, she ended the call and rushed out the door, her mind racing. She knew she had to be strong for Shree, no matter how complicated her own feelings were about Sidharth and their past. Right now, all that mattered was protecting Shree from whatever was happening.

As Saana arrived at the scene, she saw Sidharth’s ex-wife, Pallavi, causing a commotion. Pallavi was confronting Shree, her voice sharp and accusatory. Saana’s protective instincts flared as she stepped in, her voice booming with authority.

“Pallavi! She is not your daughter!”

Saana roared, her tone leaving no room for argument.

“You have no right to come here and disrupt Shree’s life. She’s been through enough already!”

Pallavi looked taken aback, her expression a mix of surprise and anger.

“What are you talking about, Saana? This is none of your business.”

Saana took a step closer, her gaze unwavering.

“It is my business when it comes to Shree’s well-being. You’ve caused enough trouble. If you care about Shree at all, you’ll leave her alone and stop trying to hurt her.”

Sidharth’s brother and a few family members stood nearby, watching the confrontation with concern. Sidharth, who had been trying to mediate, looked relieved to see Saana take charge.

Pallavi’s face hardened, but she seemed to recognize the seriousness in Saana’s voice.

“Fine. I’ll leave. But don’t think this is over.”

As Pallavi turned to leave, Saana quickly moved to comfort Shree, who was standing by, visibly shaken by the encounter. She knelt down to Shree’s level, wrapping her arms around the frightened child.

“It’s okay, Shree,”

Saana said softly, her voice soothing.

“You’re safe now. We’ll take care of everything.”

Shree clung to Saana, her small body trembling with the aftermath of the ordeal. Saana’s heart ached for her, but she knew that standing up for Shree and providing her with love and stability was the most important thing she could do.

*
Just after the encounter with Pallavi, Saana sank onto the couch, her emotions spent. Sidharth approached her, his face contorted with anger.

"Thank you, Saana,"

he said, his voice tight with frustration.

"Pallavi was threatening me, and she came with women’s rights activists. She threatened to take Shree away from me. If it had just been Pallavi, I would have made her regret it."

His rage was palpable.

"But I couldn’t do anything in front of those women. It could have damaged my reputation and my business."

Saana looked at him, disbelief written all over her face.

"Are you serious, Sidharth? Parents do everything for their children! And you were worried about your business when your ex-wife came to take your daughter from you? Are you for real?"

Her voice was stern yet she looked at him with shock. She had always known Sidharth was selfish, but this level of disregard for his own child’s well-being was beyond what she had imagined.

"Saana Aunty! Thank you so much! Aapne mujhe nahi jaane diya! Mumma bohot maar ti hain mujhe!"

Little Shree sobbed, clinging to Saana.

Saana’s heart ached at Shree’s words. How could someone hurt such a tiny child? She gently comforted her,

"Don’t cry, baby. I’m here, and nobody will harm you—whether it’s your mother or anyone else."

Turning to Sidharth with a stern expression, she added,

"I will always protect you. Whenever you feel scared, just run to me, and I will make sure to handle anyone who tries to trouble you."

Her words made Shree giggle and smile, offering a glimmer of reassurance amidst her fears.

Sidharth watched Saana with a mix of admiration and surprise. Her warmth and love were palpable, and her protective instincts shone brightly, especially when Pallavi had come to take Shree away. The way Saana had fiercely stood up for Shree and offered comfort revealed a deep-seated nurturing nature that Sidharth hadn't fully appreciated before. It was clear that her motherly instincts were not just a part of her, but a powerful force driving her to protect and care for those she loved.

As Saana gently rocked Shree to sleep, holding the little girl close to her heart, silent tears streamed down her face. The pain of seeing Shree suffer because of her parents’ separation resonated deeply with Saana. Having experienced the emotional turmoil of divorced parents herself, she understood all too well the scars a troubled childhood could leave. In that quiet moment, Saana's thoughts were consumed by her own dreams of providing a child with all the love and compassion she had always wished for. Her heart ached for Shree, as she wished to offer the nurturing and secure environment that had eluded her own past.

*

Saana gently rocked Shree in her arms, holding the little girl close to her heart as she settled into the quiet of the night. The nursery was bathed in a soft, warm light from the night lamp, casting a soothing glow over the room. Shree's tiny form nestled against Saana’s chest, her breaths coming in steady, rhythmic patterns. Saana’s heart ached as she looked down at the child, feeling the weight of her own past mingling with the present pain.

Tears welled up in Saana's eyes, her emotions pouring out in silent streams. She couldn't help but think about the stark contrast between Shree's life and the one she had always envisioned for a child. As she stroked Shree’s hair, her thoughts drifted to her own childhood—one marked by the turbulence and heartache of her parents’ divorce. The memories of her own fragmented family came rushing back, each one a reminder of the emotional scars that had shaped her.

Her parents' separation had cast a long shadow over her formative years. The constant back-and-forth between two households, the sense of instability, and the lingering feelings of abandonment had left a mark on Saana that she could never fully erase. She remembered the longing for a cohesive, loving family, a desire that had always stayed with her. Even as she grew older, she had harbored dreams of creating a different future for herself, one where a child would never have to endure the pain she had felt.

Saana’s tears fell onto Shree’s tiny head, mingling with the soft strands of her hair. It wasn’t just the child’s suffering that moved her, but the poignant reminder of her own childhood pain. Each sob that Shree let out, each small whimper in her sleep, was a reminder of the emotional wounds that Saana had once carried. She could see the early signs of distress in Shree’s face, a reflection of the separation that had come between her parents. Saana knew all too well the emotional turbulence that a child could experience in such a situation.

As she held Shree close, Saana couldn’t help but think about the dreams she had harbored for her own future. She had always envisioned a life where love, stability, and compassion were constants, where a child would grow up surrounded by unwavering support and affection. The ideal of a warm, nurturing environment was something she had yearned to provide, not only for herself but for any child she might have.

The contrast between her dreams and the harsh reality of Shree’s current situation was almost unbearable. Saana's heart ached as she thought about how Shree’s innocence was marred by the absence of a unified family. The sense of responsibility Saana felt was immense—she wanted to offer Shree the love and care that seemed to be in such short supply, especially amidst the conflicts and uncertainties that surrounded her.

In that quiet, intimate moment, Saana vowed to herself that she would do everything in her power to shield Shree from the emotional scars she herself had endured. She wanted to be a pillar of strength for the little girl, a source of unwavering love and security. The task ahead seemed daunting, but Saana was determined to provide Shree with a semblance of the stability and affection she had always dreamed of giving.

As Shree’s breathing grew even and her little body relaxed into sleep, Saana’s tears dried, replaced by a steely resolve. She would be the protector, the nurturer, and the loving presence that Shree needed. Saana’s own pain and experiences had shaped her understanding of what it meant to offer unconditional support, and she was ready to channel that into creating a better environment for Shree.

Holding Shree close, Saana whispered softly, her voice barely more than a breath,

“I’m here, little one. I’ll always be here for you. You’ll never have to face the pain alone.”
