Ch 26: Let us all come together
Lucy POV
My feet skidded through the dirt as I landed high speed at a angel. I flipped over and put my arm down to slow myself and dug my right foot into the dirt. My hair whipped around and behind me as I made the sudden turn and stopped sliding and held a crouch position with one hand on the ground, the other gripping my crystal sword tightly.
The smell of of blood reeked in the air. Fresh, scarlet red blood dropped from the diamond blade of my sword, dragon blood. The dragon in front of me was still. Unmoving on the ground with a long slash across his chest. His blood pooled out onto the ground staining the grass a dark red. It just made the unbearable sent of blood and death worse.
I rose to my feet slowly, dusting off the dirt on my arms. Several long claw marks ran up the side of my arms and even though they did heal, the pain was almost twice that of which came with the cuts. Plus it left pale scars all over my arms and legs.
I turned my attention to the raging dragon Erza and Juvia were fighting. I tilted my blade and it caught the sunlight and shimmered a little. "Hang on guys im coming!" I pulled my blade behind me with one swift movement. "Heh so you are here?" A deep voice said with a chuckle. It felt oddly familiar, but it most certainly wasn't good. The voice sounded very distorted like Natsu's did moments earlier. That can only mean one thing....
My slowly looked over my shoulder and all my suspicions were confirmed. It's a dragon. Not just any, but a large fire dragon that stood 50 feet tall. It's orange and gold scales didn't give it the normal fire dragon look, but what gave it away was the onyx eyes and flames in the center of its head going down its neck and its back like a long mane of fire reaching all the way to the tip of its barbed tail.
I felt dread fill my heart at the sight of the fourth strongest type of dragon right in front of me. "Little Girl with blonde hair and a dragon killer blade. You must be Lucy Heartfilia." The Dragon said in its low, amused voice. I raised my sword having my other hand out behind me. "Why do you need to know!?" I yelled at it.
All it did was chuckle again "well you are the prince's treasure, so," the dragon brought down one of its paws really close to where I was standing, making the forest shake "I'm sure the king would gladly give me a promotion if I kill you." I jumped away just in time, landing on my feet and giving the dragon a glare. That's when I noticed it.
On its left eye was a nasty looking black scar that almost looked like a claw mark that stretched from its top horn down to the corner of his jaw. My heart broke in my chest, tears threatened to fall, but I didn't let them. "Solar, moms pet dragon." The dragon nodded with a sad smile.
"Your mother was the only one who cared for me. She took me in when I was injured and nursed me back to health. Then she had to ruin everything!" I gritted my teeth and screamed at the beast "you killed father! She had no choice!" "Your father tried to kill me!" I gritted my teeth even harder clenching the sword in my hand till my knuckles turned white as snow. "Father would never! He wasn't like that!" Solar let out a growl and his neck scales began to light up as a fire appeared in his throat. I got ready to dodge. The blast left his mouth. I got ready to move, but that's one thing it wasn't doing.
The bast went off but it wasn't moving. Nothing was moving besides me. Erza and Juvia's fight with the Shadow Dragon Nightshade was, on pause? "What in the name of Mavis is going on!?" I walked around the clearing away from Solar and the blast that could have killed me. Clouds now seemed to cover the sky causing it to be a bit darker and gloomy. The clearing was the exact same, but nothing moved. "Like time is on pause." I wondered aloud.
"That is exactly right!" My eyes widened and I turned around in a flash. Behind me was a large boulder, a piece of debris from the fights near the cliffs. On top of that boulder sat, Natsu? No, that's not him. He looked the exact same though, but something was different. Besides the obvious half dragon look he has. Then, the gears in my brain began to turn. "Your That guys from the field of gold!"
The guy chuckled and nodded. "Very good, keen observation skills my princess." He almost purred that last part out which made me blush a little. "You May call me whatever you wish, but nothing crazy please." I looked at him with a curious gaze "don't you have a name?" I asked, trying to hide the embarrassment still lingering in my voice.
The man shook his head. "I don't need one. I've always been a part of Natsu and I never thought that I would ever need a name since I've laid dormant for a hundred years." I was shocked, but then I remembered, Natsu isn't 19 he's 100 years old this year. I felt a sort of pity for the man. He had been alone that whole time. It must have been terrible.
"I feel like I'll call you Silver for now." I said looking at the scales on his body, under his eyes and above, and on his arms. The horns that protruded from his head didn't glow at the ends like they should. His wings just drooped behind him. He sat there looking at me. His silver scales on his body somewhat dull compared to when I last saw him. His golden eyes weren't as lively either. They didn't have that fire he had back when I first saw him. He looked depressed almost, but didn't show it. He was hiding it, or something for that matter.
He gave me a small smile before his face became a bit more serious looking. He raised his wings quickly making a noise and hopped off the stone. I watched his every move and had my body turned sideways in case I needed to run. "Lucy you are the one thing he loves most, the one thing he can't live without." He was only ten feet away now. I could feel his power coming off him much stronger, but it wasn't as strong as it once was.
"Lucy he won't survive this fight. Not against his father." My heart sank. I hoped that he would bring good news and encouragement, but I guess not. Tears threatened to fall once again. This time though they fell, they fell rapidly. Till I felt a warmth on my cheek, something soft. I leaned my head into it subconsciously and sniffled. "I know, but I can't except it! I refuse to!" I looked up at the dragon who had his hand gentle caressing my cheek. "I know," I sobbed, I couldn't hold it back anymore "he won't survive, without me."
My eyes widened. I looked up at Silver. I knew he was right. Silver has something about him that just by being within 50ft of him you can tell is off. His power comes off him on waves that can almost be overwhelming. Even in this sorrow state he still had that strength, just not as much. "Trust me Lucy Heartfilia." He said rubbing my cheek lightly. 'What if he, No he's right. Whatever it is about him, it will save Natsu's life.'
I nodded up at silver fighting my tears back. "I'm done being a crybaby. What do I need to do?" I say confidently. Silver seemed impressed from the sudden change in character I smiled. "I came to you because Natsu is overusing his one spirit which is his dragon. Now he's switching between his dark side and his demon as well while still using his dragon form. It's too risky and I can't talk to him because he hasn't decided to connect with me like he did the others." Silver let his gaze wander a little. It must have hurt him a little to be rejected.
"I can't do anything inside him with him so I broke out and came to another option, you." "Me!?" I yelled in surprise. Silver nodded "I can't communicate with him from inside unless he chooses to connect with me which means he'll have full access to my power and the price that comes with it. I really can't blame him for not wanting to pay the price, but he has to now. So I have to access him through you." I looked up at him not quite understand everything he was spitting out.
"So basically I will enter your mind and become part of you. All you have to do his think of moi and I will do the rest. Understood?" I nodded. Silver grinned that same grin Natsu always gave me. He held out his hand and looked me in the eyes. I took it, but the rest was a blur.
My mind was filled with so many bright lights in so many vibrant colors. Different noises, people talking, some times memories of my life and other times some that I didn't recognize that must have belonged to Natsu or Silver. Then a single voice rose above the rest. A sweet gentle voice "I will love you always, till death and even then, Natsu.' The voice was definitely a woman's but before I could do anything I was back, in real time. The fire blast came at me and I don't even know why, but I held out my hand and caught it! 'This is my power Lucy, now all you need to do is get to Natsu, and quick. I'll take care of the rest.' I mentally nodded and my arm moved on it's own I spun around three times quickly and tossed the fire ball back at Solar with a loud yell.
It hit Solar right in the chest and took him right out. He froze before staggering sideways, the flames on his back getting weaker and weaker till he fell to the ground on his side and the flames went out completely. He was dead now.
"I-I'm sorry Solar..."
I looked down at a small puddle in the ground showing my reflection. My armor had stayed intact thank Mavis. The only thing different was that I had silver scales framing the sides of my face and Silver's golden snake like eyes. This time it was different, now they glowed, they had the fire burning them. It wasn't his full power, but right now I felt like I could easily take down all the mages in the world.
I giggled taking a step back before bolting off at insane speeds into the forest. Gone, in a flash. I looked around at the world that seemed to go in slow motion. I saw my guild mates all over the battlefield, not a single one was dead or resting. They were all still fighting taking down the dragons one by one. Some dragons even decided to flee for their lives, a lot more then I would have thought. I watched as my family was starting to band together more and more. 'You lizards will regret this day. The day you decided to mess with my family.'
I rushed through the woods tearing up the ground and nocking over small trees with the rush of the wind. I smirked to myself.
"I'm all fired up now!"
