Ch 16: warning
Natsu POV
It's been a month since I became a member of the guild officially. Since then I've had some of the best times of my life. Except when Wendy, Lucy, Erza, Happy and I took a job to catch some gang which ended up being some weird guys in black suits that called themselves the jiggly butt gang or something like that. I don't know, I didn't really pay attention, but we caught them after a.... weird encounter. I can't even think of it right now without it making my head hurt! I shook it clear.
I was sparring with Juvia like usual, along with several others who wanted to take a shot at it. Juvia has been telling everyone that I'm a great trainer and that I have helped her improve greatly. Not that I'm bragging, but its true. She has improved greatly from our first match and the guild has seen that and now more of them have wanted in on it. It was really annoying. I sighed, I'm still not used to all of this. I was never raised around humans or taught truly how fragile they are. Mentally and Physically. I kinda was too rough sometimes because I'm used to sparing with much stronger opponents such as other dragons or my father. Though I was never able to beat my father, not once.
"Oi Natsu!" I snapped my head up at the mention of my name. I forgot I was currently in a fight with Erza. She was pretty banged up. A result of one of my slightly magic enforced punches. She told me to do it to see how much she could handle. Since Wendy was here I wasn't too worried, but still. It's hard for fellow dragons to take that punch so im glad she's okay. "Yeah sorry!" I yelled at her. She was using her sword as support to stand. She was the second one to come to me for sparring, so we've been doing this longer then the others that came after. She has already improved drastically and today I'm going to give her something that will help her quite a lot. That is, if she can pass my test for today.
"Erza," I yelled. She looked up at me signaling she's listening. "Everyone move out of the way!" I yelled at them. They knew something big was coming so they moved. I kinda wanted to laugh, but I didn't. "Can you still fight 100% or close?" I asked. This wouldn't work if she couldn't. "Yeah I can. I just needed to rest for a bit." I nodded "you can rest a little more. I need to get something." I yelled back at her. I looked over at the guild doors and saw Luce. Right where I expected her to be. 'Get it ready in case she passes.' I thought to myself. Well not to myself. She nodded and ran inside. I can communicate telepathically with whoever I choose. I prefer not to use it though.
I turned back to Erza who seemed back to 100% so I was good. "This is going to be another training thing. I want you to take what you've learned and use it." I told her. She gave me a nod getting into a fighting stance. She had no idea what was coming. Till she saw the red smoke. I saw the fear light in her eyes as my muscles stretched and my bones shifted. My body was used to the pain by now. I barely felt it any of it. Before I knew it the mist cleared and there I was. Just no longer human. The form made me sick now. Remembering my past and all the wrong I've done to both sides. It hurt. No, now is not the time for a pity party.
I lowered my head to look down at Erza. She was frozen. If she can't break free from the shock then I'll end it. I watched her for a few seconds and let out a long sigh. She wasn't moving. I guess she's not ready. The sound of a slice broke me from my thoughts. Along with a slight pain in my cheek. Then blood sprayed out and Erza landed in front of me in her flight armor. The fastest armor she has. The cut was barely more then a scratch and it healed itself quickly like always. I looked down a her she had a smile on her face. Deception, that's admirable Erza Scarlet.
I charged my right paw with magic. She required to her fire empress armor. I get it. You think that because I use flames means that I'm a fire user. I wanted to laugh at how ridiculous that thought was. My chaos can take the form of flames, but that doesn't mean that they are flames. Chaos is the strongest magic there is. Why? I laughed and said quietly to myself "because it has no limit to what it can be or do."
"Chaos dragon iron fist!" Erza was smiling thinking she had the upper hand. Till the attack hit her. She screamed in pain flying through the air. She landed harshly on the ground across the field. I heard people ask if she was okay, but she didn't answer. She kept her focus on me. Smart. "So you're simulating what it's like to face a real dragon." She staggered up to her feet, using her sword as support. "What I don't get is how your flames got past my flame empresses armor." She was struggling to stand. I could tell. I know that if it comes down to a fight with a dragon. They won't want to talk. So I won't talk. She must figure it out.
"Requip!" The familiar light surrounded her. When it disappeared she was in a black armor "purgatory armor!" So she's getting serious now. She went at me. I blocked her easily with my tail. Then swung it around to hit her off guard. She saw it coming and blocked it. Good. She's improved. Her next attack was at my wings. Normally that would be a good shot, but my wings aren't webbed, their armored. I raised my right wing and flapped it so it would blow her away, but she was wearing a different armor. Her wind god armor. She countered my wind with her own and sent it back at me. It made me stumble slightly. She took that moment to go back to her flight armor to get close to my neck and Requip once again to her purgatory armor. She got a good few slashes in before I could react. I grabbed her in my claws. She squirmed like crazy and tried to get free, but she couldn't.
I had her good now. Then, pain, extreme pain in my neck. Blood sprayed out of the wound. Along with a boom sound with smoke. "An explosion lacrima!" I let her go to cover the wound and she took that moment to escape from my range. It wasn't healing! Erza must have seen the panic on my face. She is smiling. "I'm glad that worked. Explosives seem to dull your healing powers for a minute. I felt my scales stretching. Relief washed over my body as it healed shut. I turned back to Erza. So she was looking for an opening. "Chaos dragon" I felt the magic weal up in my throat. If she doesn't dodge, this could kill her. She requiped once again to an armor I havent seen yet, but the guild kept cheering about how strong it was on the defensive. I think I need to teach her a lesson.
She put the giant shield up ready to block it. "Roar!" I felt all the power a had charged up, leave my body with that. It was barely as strong as my actual normal roar, but I can't use that here. Sparks flew as it hit the shield. I didn't waste anytime. I quickly moved behind her. Fast enough that no one could see me. When it collided with the shield an explosion went off. You saw it before you heard it. The sound was delayed several seconds.
When the smoke cleared. Erza opened her eyes. Her shield was shattered and her body was bruised and bloody. I held her firmly in my claws. "You have done well, but that was only a small piece of my power." She looked back at me and sighed in defeat. "You were on to something though with the explosives idea." She seemed a little shocked that I was praising her. I couldn't blame her. In this form I sound exactly like my father.
"You look a lot like him. So much like him." I felt a little guilt in my heart. What for!? For being a dragon or for being the son of a mass murderer. "Yeah I know." I healed her the best I could without using too much power and set her down. I transformed back and looked over at Luce who was looking at me. 'Yes, I'll give her it. She earned it." Luce nodded at me to tell me she understood. I looked back at Erza who was back to her normal armor. She bowed down to me "Thank you Natsu for the training. I will work on what you have showed me so far." I waved my hands nervously "it's no big deal, but I would like to give you something. Something that will help you greatly." She perked up at that.
I reached out my hand "grab my hand." She was hesitant. She looked down at my hand then back up at me. I never broke eye contact to show her I was serious. She grabbed it. "Transfer, armor of the chaos queen." A blue light surrounded us. The magic circle for my transfer magic appeared on the ground beneath us. The breeze that accompanied it blew her hair around like crazy. Then it stopped. Everything just, stopped.
"I don't get it" Erza said. She seems confused. I sighed "Requip like you always do, but used the armor name Chaos queens armor." I gave about the best instructions i could for this. I don't know much about this other then it belonged to mother and it was the only one ever able to be made. "Requip! Chaos queen armor!" Her clothing flashed and then it changed. Her old armor was gone and her new one was now being used. It looked like normal assassin clothes, but that thing was anywhere from normal.
This armor came with one of the two dragon killer swords. There's the Heartfilia sword that Lucy left at mother's grave, and then this sword the Dragneel sword. The other dragon killer. Which is weird because it was created by a dragon, but whatever. It doesn't need the sword at all though. The armor allows the user to channel the raw power of chaos itself. Meaning it can also take on every element there is. I knew this would help greatly and wit more training, she might be able to take down a few dragons.
I wanted to laugh. Her eyes are sparkling with happiness and curiosity. I smirked to myself. "I guess you like it then?" I saw all the guild mates staring in awe. They're being so childish! I sweat dropped slightly as one started yelling about not getting anything. I walked up to Erza and patted her shoulder "it's yours for now, just one condition." She stopped looking at the sword and looked at me. This was serious though and after looking directly into my eyes she got the message. I got right up next to her ear. "If I ever go insane. I want you to kill me. Do not hesitate or it will be the death of you all." She tensed up, but nodded.
"Look out!" Someone screamed. My eyes shot to the sky. I grabbed Erza and jumped out of the way. A blue fireball exploded where we were standing. From the flames a voice. "Listen well all of you." A deep voice said. "Acnologia" Erza muttered in shock. I growled instinctively. What does he want?! "You have pushed my patience to its end. You will all pay for taking my only son away from me and turning him against me." He knows! Crap! "I will show you no mercy. I will come and take back what is rightfully mine." With that the flame disappeared and we were all left standing there like statues. "Natsu," I didn't need to turn around to know that it was Luce. She hugged my side and cried. "He's going to kill us." She sobbed I put my arm around her. "Not if I'm here" i said looking at the sky. "We'll have two weeks. He won't take any longer or shorter."
I looked back at Juvia. "I have been training her from the beginning. She is the most experienced in dealing with the strength that Chaos possesses. She can actually take on me at nearly half power. So she might be able to help train the others. Erza will be a close second once she figures out how to use the armor, but I can't help prepare everyone on my own." I felt the panic rise in my chest. Even with Juvia's help, she only knows so much. She doesn't know everything. "I can help though" a voice said. The crowd parted to reveal orange head, no, Guildarts looking at me.
"Ive faced your father myself. He is one of the strongest opponents Ive ever faced, but you know who was stronger?" I tilted my head, unsure of where this was going. "You," he said "you've been stronger then your father ever since I first came to find you. He knows that. That's why he keeps you so close and makes you believe your weaker." He looked down at his feet. "Even after the incident." It hurt just to hear that painful time be referred to. The incident. Only father, Guildarts, and Zeref knew about it besides me. I looked down at my hand. Feeling pain in my heart as I opened and close it, remembering that this body doesn't truly belong to me. I looked up at Guildarts.
"Before we prepare I must share something. You all deserve to know what I really am." It caught everyone's attention. I felt everyone's eyes on me. Even Luce's who was crying in my side till I said that. I felt uncomfortable under their gazes. "I'm Natsu Ethereal Dragneel. To you I look 18. In reality I'm 100 years old by now." I heard the whispers of the guild all around me, but I continued anyway. "The real me, or my body, died 82 years ago."
Heyo, this chapter is nearly 2500 words. It's longer then the special! Yikes. I decided to continue the story. Now its 2500.
