Judge's Review: Overall, this is a story with potential, though the paragraphs and sentences could be shortened a bit for a more enjoyable read. Also, you could review your "blurb" to make it less mechanical - it would pull in more readers! It would be a shame to miss out on your story, as your writing is excellent, witty, and enjoyable. Well done!

Judge's Review: I actually really like this! I do think your chapters should ALL be modeled like chapter 5; fast, quick paced, short sentences. The humor is great, I definitely chuckled a few times. Your characters are interesting, well rounded. A bit of work on the setting itself and area descriptions to better immerse the reader, and you'll have concocted something really hard to put down!

Judge's Review: This was a lovely start to what will likely be an intriguing romance/adventure/mystery set in the past. Just what I love! It's well written, simple, no over-complicated and frilly. It was a truly enjoyable read and I look forward to finding out more. My only comment would be to work a little on the setting, because it was a bit unclear despite your lovely descriptions.

Judge's Review: Seriously, lovely work. I had to force myself to stop at chapter five - I have other books to judge!! - but I will finish reading ASAP because you totally pulled me in. And that's knowing I'd choose soccer over baseball any day, and I prefer 18th century Historical Fiction over early 20th. Your writing is nearly flawless, and the topic is SO real - today still - that I hope your work gets out there and is seen by all. Well done!
