Chapter 1- The Champion Of The Mountain

Use the music I put in at a certain part of the story. You'll know when. Omg I waited months to publish this story and now I finally can! I have so much chapters now!

"It's good to see you again, Champion Of The Mountain." A voice said behind him, he then turned around to see The Sinnoh Champion standing before him.
"Didn't know I had a title." I responded, ignoring her question. "But the feeling is mutual. Are you here to challenge me to another battle?"

"Actually I have come to you for a different matter."

1 hour before, Third person POV
"Thank you for coming." Charles said with gratitude, She and the other champions have been called for a meeting regarding The Tournament Of Champions, a special tournament consisting of champions, elite four, and trainers. The tournament was to be hosted in Kalos but Charles had summoned them all for an emergency meeting in Sinnoh.
"Charles Goodshow you better have a damn good reason for this meeting!" Alder said, very pissed off.
"I was mourning my grandfathers death when you called."

"I do have good reason and I'm sorry for your loss." Charles responded then gestured for the 5 Champions (Cynthia, Diantha, Alder, Steven, and Lance.)
to sit down, which they did. "Alright now what was so urgent that you had to call us here." Steven asked, his voice calm and relaxed, Charles sighed

"Ash Ketchum."

The Room fell silent, they all knew how he was betrayed by his family and friends, even though he risked his life for them and saved the world countless times. Not to mention his undying generosity and determination. He disappeared 10 years ago, leaving no trail for them to follow. What about him?" Diantha spoke up, breaking the silence "We believe we found him." The entire room perked up and Charles response "Where is he." Steven asked, then Charles turned to Cynthia

"Do know of The Champion Of The Mountain?" Cynthia nodded "Yes he is a trainer that makes his home at the peak of Mt.Coronet. Many trainers have challenged him and been defeated. Even I challenged him once, only to receive a crushing defeat. I only got past one of his Pokémon, in fact I'm the only person so far to even get past his Pikachu. Nobody knows his full team." She explained and everyone was surprised, Nobody except Cynthia got past his first Pokémon, which was a Pikachu. Very suspicious. "We believe he might be Ash Ketchum in disguise. You see nobody knows how he was betrayed and he left no trail for us to follow, regarding his whereabouts. You see one of my employees went to challenge him once and he told me he had lighting bolt birthmarks on his cheeks, chocolate brown eyes, and a Pikachu perched on his shoulder. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I think not." Charles explained as the champions listened in awe "Then let's go to him and see if he really is our old friend Ash, eh?" Alder suggested with a smile on his face.  "Alright if he really is Ash I want you to bring him back here. I need to stay and do some paperwork." Charles said, then the Champions left.

Present time, Red/ Ash's POV

"Actually I have come to you for a different matter." Cynthia responded, I rose an eyebrow to her statement "Just you?" I asked and she flinched "I'm more observant than you think Cynthia. Care to tell me why you invited all the other champions?" She sighed as the others walked out. "Wow you are way more observant than I thought Champion Of The Mountain" Steven said as he was walking out. "Or should I say...Ash Ketchum?"
I was standing there unfazed. I was prepared for this. "Who is Ash?" I asked, showing no nervousness or fear in my tone "He is a boy who has lighting bolt birthmarks on his cheeks, chocolate brown eyes, and a Pikachu perched on his shoulder" Lance then pointed to me. "Just like you do." I then acted like I was remembering "Ahh yes Ash. That boy was no ordinary challenger, he managed to get past 5 of my Pokémon when he challenged me. I believe he is the only person who knows me full team." I responded calmly "Do you know of his whereabouts?" Diantha countered "Why yes I do, but I'm not going to tell you. When he challenged me I saw his aura. Broken, sad, suicidal even, but he still had the determination and confidence to challenge me. Even though he lost to me I took him under my wing and trained him to become a true Pokémon Master." Then I scowled at them "Yet here I am wondering. Why would you care? He told me of his past. His Family and Friends betrayed him. Left him for dead, even." When I finished my sentence they were surprised when I mentioned Ash, aka me was 'left for dead'  "I ask again, why do you care?"

"We want to find him. He left without a trace and nobody knows what happened to him. We never betrayed him." Lance responded then got an idea "How bout this. I, Lance, Dragon master and Champion of Johto and Kanto, challenge you, The Champion Of The Mountain, to a battle. If you win we will leave, but if I win, you tell me where Ash is." Then he pulled out a pokeball from his cape and aimed it at me "Deal?"

I thought for a moment

"Deal. What are the rules?" I asked "A 3 on 3 battle, once either side is out of Pokémon the opposing side wins. Simple as that." He explained

"If you don't mind I will be the referee." Steven said as he got to his position "This will be a 3 on 3 battle between Lance, Dragon Master, Champion Of Johto and Kanto and The Champion Of The Mountain. Once either side is out of Pokémon the battle is over. Do you agree to these terms?" Steven asked and Lance and I nodded

"Please send out your Pokémon !"

Third person/ Author POV

"Dragonite, Let's go!" Lance shouted as the Dragon Pokémon (yes that is the actual species name)
appeared on the mountain, it's feet sinking into the snow.

"Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash shouted as the mouse Pokémon jumped off his shoulder and on to the snow.

"Alright battle begin!" Cue battle music
(I only know 3 of lances Pokémon and I'm doing his team based off the anime and since google is a piece of you know what I'm just going to add 3 random dragon types to his team when he does a 6 on 6 ok)

"You may have the first move." Ash offered

"Why thank you, kind sir. Dragonite let's start this up with dragon pulse!" Lance commanded, Dragonite then fired a purpleish beam at Pikachu, who stood their, unfazed. "Counter with electro ball." Ash said calmly. Pikachu then a yellow ball with a white center started to appear on its tail. As soon as it was at a certain size Pikachu jumped up in the air and threw it at the dragon pulse, as soon as the electro ball made contact it immediately went through the dragon pulse and slammed into Dragonites face, knocking it back a few dozen yards. To say Lance was shocked was an understatement. When Dragonite finally stood up he instantly collapsed and had swirls in his eyes. All the Champions were shocked "D-Dragonite is unable to battle!" Steven announced "The round goes to Pikachu, Champion Lance please send out you next Pokémon.

"No way, my dragonite got defeated with one move" Lance thought "That Pikachu is Strong and not to be taken lightly."

"Now Hydregon Let's go!" Lance shouted. "I'll stick with Pikachu." Ash calmly stated, Lance nodded.
"Hydregon use earthquake!"

"Ah so he's hoping type advantage will save him." Ash thought, then said "Pikachu jump and use Thunderbolt on Hydregon before it can use Earthquake!" As soon as Ash said that Pikachu jumped in the air at almost unnatural speed and released a thunderbolt on Hydregon, which send him crashing to the ground, swirls in his eyes.
"Hydregon is unable to battle, the round goes to Pikachu." Steven then turned to Lance "Champion Lance please send out your next Pokémon.

Lance was in deep thought "I stand no chance against him, after all this isn't an official battle, so I won't let my pride get in the way." He thought then he turned to Steven "I know when I'm defeated. I forfeit." Everyone was surprised, Lance never forfeited, but they understood why. It was clear that even if all of his Pokémon were against him he would receive a crushing defeat. Then out of nowhere The Champion Of The Mountain (aka Ash)  burst into laughter, he even cried a bit
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! YOU! FORFEITING!" He shouted and Lance got a bit mad "I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one." He shot back "ACTUALLY YOU ARE!" He yelled, then calmed down a bit "I've had atleast 200 people come here to challenge me and you are the first one to forfeit!" Lance blushed in embarrassment. "But I respect you decision." Ash said, surprising everyone "You realized that you couldn't defeat me and by forfeiting you protected your Pokémon from harm and possibly getting mortified. That was very considerate." Lance nodded in gratitude. "Even though you lost I'll let you stay here for the night if you'd like, but I'm not telling you where Ash is."

Ash's POV
"Even though you lost I'll let you stay here for the night if you'd like, but I'm not telling you where Ash is." I said, they nodded in gratitude, and followed me. When I got home they all looked in awe and astonishment, before them was a small forest, overflowing with Pokémon. At the center of the forest was a hot spring. "My house is over there." I said as i pointed to a wood cabin. I then took them on a tour and showed them the training area, a couple more hot springs, and a few other cabins. "Why do you have more cabins?" Cynthia asked me "Don't you live here alone?" I rose an eyebrow at her "I built extra cabins incase people needed to stay somewhere for the night. After all I'm not going to just let them walk down a mountain in sub zero temperatures." Cynthia nodded in understanding "Ah I See."

"Make yourself at home. If you need me, I'll be relaxing in the hot springs." I said, then I turned around. "Oh one more thing. My house is off limits! If I see you in there I will personally make you pay." Then I walked out "Cya."

Steven's POV
"Could he maybe not be Ash?" Alder asked the other champions "Ash really isn't like that." I shook my head "A man can change in 10 years, I still believe that's Ash, even though he denies it." I responded "I'm going to follow him. You guys get settled in." Then I walked off, to find The Champion Of The Mountain.

Ash's POV
I was bathing in the hot spring, letting the warm water relax my muscles. I was enjoying myself until I heard some footsteps. "Who is it?" I asked, then Steven came out "Thought I would join you in the hot spring, it seems very relaxing." He said as he got in with me. "Where did you get the bathing suit?" I asked "Got it on the way here. After all I'm not coming in here naked." I nodded in agreement, thinking what would happen if I came out of the spring without my bathing suit on. "Look I want to talk about Ash." I then glared at him "I said I wouldn't say anything." I snapped

"That may be so, but *sigh* look I'm not asking for where he is, but I at least want to know what happened regarding the betrayal." Steven explained "You don't have to tell me the whole story, just give me a couple pieces to the puzzle alright?" I thought for a moment, Steven nor the other champions betrayed me, but my trust was surely broken. I sighed and decided to just satisfy his curiosity. "All right then." I said in defeat, he smiled a bit. "I won't say the whole story but Ash was betrayed by his friends and family, this you know. But during the process the traitors broke a couple of bones in his body, stabbed him a couple times then dragged him out to a forest. Then..." I paused and took a deep breath "They left him to die." Steven eyes were wide with shock, he was speechless "If it hadn't been for his Pokémon and Leaf he would've died."

"Whose Leaf?" Steven asked "His girlfriend." I answered "After Ash got better they started dating, when Leaf learned of the betrayal she decided to spy on the traitors by getting in a relationship with some guy named Trip. Since then she's been giving information to him." Steven listened in awe then asked a question "How do you know about this? You said Ash was betrayed so obviously he didn't trust you enough to just tell you his story and in that much detail. You have chocolate brown eyes, lightning bolt birthmarks and a Pikachu on your right shoulder. Just like Ash." He then paused "So I'll ask again, are you Ash Ketchum?" I chuckled a bit, my secret was out "I go by Red Satoshi now." I said and he let out a breath of relief "Well it is good to see you again." He said and I nodded "So how'd you find me?" I asked
"Charles." He said and I rolled my eyes "That guy loves to investigate, doesn't he?" I ask and he nodded "I don't want to know, do I?" He nodded again, faster than the last one. "Well I think it's time we head back." I said, noticing that it's nighttime "I have a computer in my house. You can use it to contact Charles." He nodded and followed me back

Charles POV

"To Arceus with this blasted paperwork!" I complained "There is so much I could be here for months!" Then I saw my computer light up and a unknown number appeared on the screen. "This better not be another solicitor." I said as I answered the call. "I've had at least 5 today."  When the caller appeared on my screen, my eyes widened. There was Ash, Steven, and the other champions "It's good to see you again Charles." Ash greeted "Likewise, Ash." I replied, then I saw Ash look around my room "I see not much has changed in the last 9 years?" He asked and I nodded "Enough about me, my boy. Where have you been? What happened?" I asked, hoping to get an explanation.

One long explanation later

To say I was mad was an understatement. Those traitors left him for dead "I should just kick them out of the tournament right now!" I shouted in frustration "Hold on Charles, keep them in." Ash said "I have some unfinished business with them."
I nodded "I will put you in the tournament." Then he said thanks and was about to end the call "Wait!" I said, and he stopped "Is there anything else I need to know?" He asked me "Well it's...Professor Oak." I said in a worried tone "Whats wrong with him." He  replied, in a calm yet slightly demanding tone. The man was like a father to him, so it's no surprise he was worried. "He misses you dearly. He still continues his research and benefits from his work but every time he visits he always asks me if I have heard from you. I don't know why I guess he just thought I would know, being the President of the Pokemon League and all." I explained

"I'll be sure to visit him when I come back for the tournament." He said "Thank you for filling me in. I'll be sure to pay him a visit." Then he ended the call. I wondered how he would visit Professor Oak, But I shrugged it off, knowing he would pull it off somehow. I then looked at my mountains of paper, facepalmed and even whined a bit. I'm not even halfway through.
