"Explain." Ibrahim can be very intimidating when he gets angry, he was beyond furious to see his brother roaming around with his sister-in-law, who he considers just like his very own sister.
Ameen trembled in fear, looking at his bhabhi for help, who was glaring at him and Mahira with a displeased look. How did he forget that Mahira was her sister first and they both have highly disappointed their siblings.
Mahira looked up at her sister, with fear and said, "He was my best friends brother's best friend."
"We both knew each other before you guys even got married." Ibrahim and Mawra passed each other a surprising look at this newfound information.
Mawra was still not satisfied, even if they knew each other before, it gave them zero rights to hang out like this in public. It was strictly prohibited in Islam and in their family and honestly, they should have some morals and respect for their religion.
"You were a minor until a few months ago. I can send Ameen to jail for this you know." Mahira and Ameen's eyes widened at her words, Ibrahim was shocked too.
"Mawra, please. Stop overreacting." Mahira snapped at her, making Ameen to facepalm himself, "we never cross our limits." she added.
"Don't use that tone with my wife," Ibrahim told her off whilst squeezing Mawra's hands. Taken aback by her sister's rudeness, she eyed her husband gratefully.
Mahira was left dumbfounded, "fine. But I'm an adult now, I can do whatever I want. You have no right to interfere in my life matters. Mind your own life, Mawra." Ameen didn't know what to do with this stupid girl, but he was in love with her and will fight till everyone accepts their relationship.
"Bhai." Ameen finally opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't form any words looking at his brother's furious glare.
"Let's go, Ibrahim, I'll tell abbu that his dear daughter has failed her twelfth board exams, I seriously didn't believe Ahil at first. But now I know exactly why did she fail."
"What?" Ibrahim couldn't believe his ears, "yes, she freaking failed her board exams. We can see why."
Giving a furious glare to her brother-in-law and then her sister, she held her husband's hands and dragged him out of that stupid park.
Just when she thought the day couldn't get any more awful the stupid universe proves her wrong. First the office staffs and now her sister. Mawra was done for the day. After such a relaxing honeymoon trip, this is not how she has imagined her first day at the office to be.
Ibrahim gave his brother one look, which said; I'll deal with you later and Ameen was terrified. As he should be.

Ibrahim drove the car to the bank first, to solve the problem once and for all. He did ask the manager to prepare the house documents and was adamant about paying the loan altogether today, but what he didn't expect was Mawra to be so uptight about it.
"No, Ibrahim. I can't accept that. It's so much money." she muttered exasperatedly.
He gave her a look, "why didn't you say that you were having trouble paying the loan, huh? I thought we had an agreement to share stuff." She could see the hurt in his voice and squeezed his hands lightly.
"Did you ever think, why I never took any holiday during the past two years, despite working like crazy?" When he had no reply to that, she continued, "every day's pay was important to me, Ibrahim. I worked hard to pay the loan."
"I took your job just to buy a house for my parents and their reactions as I gave them the key was priceless, Ibrahim. Best day of my life, but as I was getting married to you I had to take a months holiday and there was no salary during that time."
"The manager excused as it was my first time, and that month's due was carry forward to the next month. And again, I took three weeks holiday for our honeymoon. So, couldn't pay it properly for three months straight now."
"I'm so mad at you."
"I transfer some money to your account every month. What happened to those?" her silence has only increased his anger.
"Seriously Mawra. When you had money, you could simply pay. What was the need to listen to his stupid taunts? I can't tolerate anyone talking with you like that, not even your own sister. Why do you keep giving them chances? You could have just used the money I give you. Why only your salary?" Ibrahim asked in annoyance, she slightly flinched at that.
"Did you even touch the money I give you?" The silence from her side only provoked his anger further.
"I wanted to pay it through my money..." She mumbled whilst fidgeting with her hands, her gaze looked anywhere but him. He stopped the car at once and turned to face her with furious eyes and said, "you frustrate me like no other, Mawra Ibrahim..."
"Listen to me carefully, Mawra. You are mine and I am yours." he held her chin tightly and made her look at him, his grey eyes screamed possessiveness, "which technically means, everything which belongs to me is yours."
"There is no my money or your money. Whatever I earn. I earn it for my family, and you're a vital part of my family. Stop differentiating it."
"Its not like that, Ibrahim."
"Then what is it, explain? You had more than enough money with you. I am sure you haven't spent a single penny of it, why'd you do that?" he lost his cool and snapped at her.
"I wanted to pay it through my own earned money. You won't understand, its just. I can't explain."
"Shall we go home then?" his voice was cold and distant.
"People called me a gold digger today, Ibrahim." Mawra's voice was barely a whisper as she shut her eyes close, fighting off a tear.
"Their words shouldn't matter, Mawra. They always have something to say. Most of the time its just bullshit." his voice instantly became soft and caring. She smiled at him sadly.
"I know, but it does. If I accept your money and let you pay my loan, I'm just proving their point."
"What they say doesn't define us in any way."
"We are not answerable to anyone but Allah. Their opinions should never be our priority, Mawra. Whatever I earn, its yours. Their words should never matter to you." Ibrahim leaned in and kissed her forehead as she shut her eyes close and hugged him slowly, "you're too good, Ibrahim." she whispered against his chest and they remained silent for a while, before pulling apart.
"Should we go to the bank then?" She nodded her head a little hesitantly, but the beam on his face melted her heart and she smiled somehow.
The concern in his eyes as she fell in his arms today and cried, the anger he felt towards those staffs for putting her through so much, the way he scolded her sister for her sake. His thoughtfulness and kind words, his protectiveness, his anger...everything about Ibrahim Qureshi made her fall head over heels for him.
Her heart began to beat rapidly at this sudden realization. She knew she was falling in love before, but it was just the falling. She wasn't a hundred per cent sure back then.
But Mawra was now sure that, she's madly and crazily in love with the man beside her, who happens to be her husband/ boss. How did ever that happen? She has no idea, it just did. Her heart wouldn't stop beating rapidly while the insides of her stomach felt mushy as a wide smile etched on her face as she realized her true feelings.
He made her feel things. Things which she has always craved for. Like how they described in her cheesy romance novels. Those books have ruined her expectations but she has always secretly hoped for this one day to happen in her life, and it did. The thought has left her blushing furiously.
"Ibrahim..." she called out his name as he was driving the car, whilst stealing quiet glances at her every now and then.
He did notice her sudden goofy smile, but didn't comment anything because of the driving, but gave her his full attention just as she called, her smile only widened as he faces her. Confusing him a tiny bit.
"I think I'm in love with you." Mawra blurted out shyly yet confidently, her eyes staring right into his grey orbs full of love and warmth. Ibrahim stopped the car at once, almost crashing into the vehicle in front of him. Thankfully, he didn't. No harm was done.
Mawra gasped as she moved back with force and held onto his hands tightly, her eyes now filled with fear. Fear of what if something had happened.
"You can't just blurt things out casually like that while I'm driving the car you know..."Ibrahim sighed, glad at the fact that nothing has happened and she was safe. The guy from the car behind yelled at him whilst driving ahead. He couldn't care less. They were not even on the main road, which was a plus point. It was a deserted area. Otherwise, a serious accident might have taken place.
"I learnt my lesson." she clung onto his arms as her heart was beating at an uneven pace. "Are you fine?" he asked, she nodded her head and asked, "are you?"
Ibrahim took her hands in his and brought them near his heart as he placed them against his chest, "you feel that?" she nodded her head whilst glancing up at him from sideways, feeling the rapid thumping of his heart, "I'm fine too. More than just fine, because this heart of mine is feeling stupidly happy today."
Mawra couldn't get herself to even smile considering they were inches away from getting into an accident, all because of her.
"Even though you frustrate me at times, I love you too." She could feel both of their hearts beating at a rapid pace at his confession and the classic blush on her face made its appearance as she breathed unevenly.
It was hard to believe that he was in love with her too, considering how annoying she has been. For most of the times.
"Do you really?" Mawra wanted to ask, but couldn't get herself to as she was in shock. She was full of uncertainity but her heart wanted to believe him so badly. She should be jumping in the joy that he was in love with her, but couldn't get herself to believe his words in the first place. Her blush vanished as worry started to fill her eyes.
"Drive us home. Please," she mumbled, and he nodded his head thinking she was just scared of the almost accident and there was only silence for the rest of the ride. Comfortable silence for Ibrahim, as his heart was filled with joy and happiness, he was ecstatic but it was not the case with her.
***
Ibrahim came out of the bathroom with a towel in his hands, dressed in his night suit ready to crash the bed as he was extremely tired from all the travelling and other actives. But his breath hitched at the sight in front of him.
Standing in front of him was his wife, dressed in his cotton shirt which ended up on her mid-thighs. Nothing else. She was applying moisturizer on her long legs, testing his self-control. Was she planning on killing him or what?
"Mawra..." he caught her off guard, by his sudden appearance, Mawra smiled sheepishly as she observed his intense gaze.
There was no use feeling shy around him after all the things they've done. Plus, his clothes are super comfortable to sleep with.
"Ready to sleep?"
"Hmm." she hummed, feeling suddenly shy under his gaze, but frowned looking at his wet hair and said, "you'll catch cold, come here." Dragging him to sit on the bed, she took the towel in her hands, bossily.
Ibrahim had this ridiculous smile plastered on his face as she dried his hair. He just watched her take care of him, silently. He loved being pampered by her. She made him feel special.
"Thank you, Ibrahim," Mawra mumbled as she was done with his hair, he furrowed his brows.
"For paying the whole loan, even though you didn't have to." He just rolled his eyes, she was saying thanks for the third time now, "I know you don't want my thanks, but I'm grateful. It would have taken me my whole life to pay that amount." she sighed, "you don't have to worry about that anymore."
They paid the loan in the evening and the house was officially theirs now, which Mawra wrote in her mother's name. She fell in love with him all over again as he did that for her. How did she get so lucky was the only question running in her mind throughout the day.
"Let's sleep. I'm very tired." walking to her side, she laid on the bed and Ibrahim joined her after switching off the lights. Right after he laid, she moves closer and snuggled into him tightly. He wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close to him. Their hearts were thumping rapidly as usual.
It has been a very dramatic day and Mawra felt at peace as she laid closer to her husband, holding him tightly. This is her safe haven, her most favourite place on this earth.
"Ibrahim..."
"Mawra..."
"Why do you love me?" More like, what was there in me to love, she wanted to ask.
"Are you doubting my love?" Ibrahim slightly frowned at her question.
"Please answer me." the desperation in her voice scared him somehow, as he caressed her cheeks lovingly.
"I fell in love with this girl, who always puts her family first than her own self, the girl who worked selflessly to fulfil her mother's dream of owning a house, the girl who loves my family like her own and the way she takes care of their needs despite working every day. I fell in love with this girl, who knows how to stand up for herself, who is so strong-willed yet crazy. I fell in love with this girl, who has been patient with my odd working hours and never once complained. I fell in love with this girl, who takes care of my needs like her own. I fell in love with this girl, who's so confident yet so shy. I fell in love with this girl, who is so frustrating and immature but she's mine and I love her anyway. Her flaws are included too."
"You know who that girl is, right?"
Mawra was in tears as she sniffled against his chest, he just lets her be knowing how overwhelming it could be.
"I fell in love with you, Mawra. Your heart, soul, everything."
"I love you too, Ibrahim."
"I love you so much. You're so good. Too good to be true." She looked up at him with moist filled eyes and kissed on his chest, he just held her tightly and relished this happy memory as they snuggled together more comfortably. Sleep overtook them as soon as they closed their eyes.
It was one truly dramatic day but ended on a great note at last. No one was happier than them, the smile on their faces even while sleeping said it all.
