Hariss' POV

After the police incident we finally arrived home. I don't blame Aliah for anything that happened, I practically forced her to drive, so it was only right if I paid for the ticket.

When we opened the door of my loft we realized that somebody was already waiting for us..

It was my mom.

Great..

"Mom?" I said suprised.

I think I know what she was doing here.

But she didn't make eye contact with me, she kept looking at Aliah.

"Mom?" I said again trying to get her eyes off of Aliah. Let's just say that my mom isn't the biggest fan of Aliah, probably because she's Muslim.

"What is she doing here?" My mom asked.

"She has a name." I responded.

Disrespectful.

"Great to see you again miss Cooper, I love your bright purple skirt." Aliah smirked. She then passed my mom and went to 'her room'.

"What the hell is she doing here?? Are you seeing her? I swear to God Ha.." My mom asked but I interrupted her.

"No I'm not seeing her and the question is why the hell are you here?"

"Just came by to check if you have already found yourself a mature human being." She said walking around the room.

"I'm surprised it's so clean in here, I guess you have a cleaning lady now." She said looking towards the guest room.

"Thank God you didn't give me your disrespectful attitude." I responded, annoyed. What the actual hell was wrong with her?

Aliah then came out of her room and walked towards the couch and sat down.

My mom followed her with her eyes until she sat down.

And it was at that moment I finally figured out what I could do so I could get my mom off my back and annoy her at the same time.

"Mom." I said. "You know Aliah, well may I introduce you to my fiancé."

You should've seen her face. Actually, their faces. Aliah gave me one look that screamed 'what the hell do you think you're doing?'.

It actually wasn't that bad of an idea.. She practically lived here, and I could have my mom off my back if I just fake married Aliah.

"Verry funny Harris."

"I'm serious mom." I responded with a serious expression.

I just hope that Aliah isn't going to freak out.

Mom turned to face Aliah and when I thought that she was going to deny our fake marriage, a giant smile appeared on her face.

"Well, I will be so happy to call you my mother in law, mom." Aliah said still with a smile that took over her face.

I was trying to not burst out in laughter for what Aliah said. My mom was shocked and didn't knew what to say or do.

She grabbed her purse and walked towards the front door.

"You're going to regret this!" She yelled and closed the door.

"Love you too mom!" I shouted even though she already had closed the door.

Her face made my day.

"What was that? If you think I will fake marry you and play all happy couple, than you're even dumber than I thought." She said and left to her room again.

She slammed the door so hard that the whole building moved.

I thought the idea was genius? And I thought that she was okay with it.. I guess she only played along to annoy my mother..

..

Aliah's POV

What was he thinking? I was only playing along to annoy his mother. Never have I ever met anyone as annoying as his mother.

He was so lucky with Flora, she was probably the one that got rid of his old mindset about Muslims and dark skin coloured people.

His mother never had that someone, maybe I was that person? Maybe I need to do this for Harris and for Flora.

Wait.. am I seriously considering this? Have I lost my mind.. I can't marry a non-Muslim guy, can I?

I mean..

Shit, what do I do?

Do I marry him and commit a huge sin or do I walk away, lose everything and have a miserable life?

Maybe this all was ElMektab, who knows? Maybe it was written or maybe it wasn't and I'm just looking for excuses to not be homeless.

I can't live on the streets.. I can refuse his offer, but he will not be CEO anymore and that means that someone else is going to be my boss and if he also has some hate against my religion, than I'll be back where I started. I can't risk that..

I need to marry him..

It's fake after all and we can take a divorce after a year..

After I've been hiding in 'my room' for 2 hours, I got out. It was time that Harris and I had a serious conversation.

He was not in the living room or the kitchen. So I checked his office.

I knocked on the door before entering, I don't want to interrupt him if he's doing something important.

I opened the door after he shouted 'come in'.

He kept on working whilst I walked in.

"Can we talk?" I asked. I was nervous for some reason.

He pointed to the chair in front of me, indicating that I could sit down.

He then looked up and waited for me to talk.

"I will marry you, sorry I mean fake marry you."

He removed his glasses and placed them on his desk. He only wore glasses when he was reading and he looked even cuter and smarter with them on.

"Aliah you're clearly not comfortable talking about it, let alone actually doing it." Harris responded.

He then put his glasses back on and continued writing.

"No I'm fine with it, I can't risk losing my job if you get fired." I said.

"Of course", he chuckled.

What did I say?

"Of course you're only doing this for yourself." He added.

Euhm yeah?

"Yes who would I else do it for?" I asked.

"Whatever, you can go. I have stuff to do."

Why was he being so rude? He was also doing it for himself so I don't get his attitude..

"So are we getting married or what?" I asked slightly annoyed.

"Yes we are getting fake married Aliah, but I only do it to save my job." He responded.

"Fine" I said. "But, I wanna do it properly, so we also having a Nikkah" I finished.

"A What?" He asked.

"We are also getting married between the lines of my religion, I'm not gonna hold hands to keep up the act while you're still being haram for me to touch." I said.

"Sure." He responded and broke eye contact again.

He didn't even care.

There are no romantic feelings mixed in this marriage, it's a part we need to do to save our jobs.
