10. LIFE OF THE ARAN
I hadn't yet got over the incident that had happened a few days ago. I know it dumb to still stay put in the castle when I know my and Emily's life are on the line. It's now third week of our stay. Faerunduil does not come out of his chambers at all. We don't see Daemeon, Airen or Luthiann anywhere. As much as I would love to ask Daemeon about that little incident, but I didn't have a chance to. They might be securing the kingdom day and night.
'When do we go away from this God forsaken place' heaved Emily while plopping next to me on my bed. I shook my head and replied 'Its safer to stay here than to run away to the orcs hands'.
We sat there thinking in silence. 'That thing just turned red' said Emily looking at the dangling amethyst necklace on my neck. 'Yeah it does that quite often now' I replied looking at in awe. 'Throw that away. Maybe Faerunduil gave it to you as a tracking device' said Emily frowning at it. 'I've been thinking about it too but it's too pretty to just throw it away' I said playing at it.
She shook her head in disapproval. 'Im going to the library' she said and walked out.
I laid on my bed smoothing the bed folds absentmindedly. Daemeon did try to stop Faeranduil from giving us Duldruz. Why does this Orc Kingdom want me and Emily for? Eat us no doubt, it thought fear gripping me.
It would really be nice if I knew what was happening in this Kingdom, what was happening on Faeranduil's mind. I jumped from my bed and ran to the corridor in hope to meet anyone. Not long I saw an Elvish soldier walk to the main hall. I ran towards him. 'Do you have time to talk?' I asked innocently standing in front of him. His cold green eyes softened when he saw me. 'What is it nissë?' he asked while pressing his lips to my knuckles. I felt butterflies. Why do every Elves look so damn beautiful and glorious.
I pressed my lips and said 'Somewhere more private perhaps?'. He raised his eyebrows and I saw a slight smile on his lips. 'Certainly' he said and guided me to a secluded balcony.
I sat on the glass bench and he beside me. He smiled at me and asked me what I wanted. 'I would like to know more about the Aran' I said quickly. I had no time to waste. I had to know all the secrets before Em and my time was up.
He raised his eyebrows and said looking straight at me, 'The Aran is an ancient soul. Older than anyone of us. He is mortal but can live upto a century or two' he said and concluded.
I looked at him hopefully for getting more answers. But he was mute. 'Is that all?' I asked making my sound two times more dejected than I am. He sighed and smirked at my puppy eyes. 'Do you want to know something specific?' he asked. I nodded and said 'I want to know about his past. His way into the royalty, his relations with the realms, and all that'.
The elf laid back and said 'Well I don't know much about Aran. He is a mystery to all. He was king even before I was born. And I am 230 years mind you' he said winking and giving me a perfect bright toothy grin. I giggled. He smiled to himself and continued 'He was the sole heir of The majestic Eresole Kingdom. Well he had to fight his brethren for the throne.
'He was and is really powerful in everything he does. Later on years he acquainted with Lady Lavinia, second daughter of Aran of Elveruin . She was half elf that is. Her family was well know among the Elves as her mother herself died fighting for the Battle of Sevth corae'
'They had Prince Daemeon and that was when the huge battle of The seven realms had taken place. Lady Lavinia disappeared. We rekon she was killed. Faerunduil and Daemeon did not suffer much as we did. They barely acknowledged her death. I know your thinking the same thing as I am.
Why wouldn't they, the true personal people suffer as we did. Well I believe they know something we don't. And I don't think they'll open up anytime sooner. We all loved Lady Lavinia. She had the aura of power and magnificence but it was overpowered by her kindness. She was a mother to all of us. This place is dark without her presence. We all miss her everyday' he said.
Dark. I thought. This peaceful idyllic place is dark? I would very much like to know what would have been the condition when she was here.
He continued. 'After the battle the rightful kings were given to the wild kingdoms and the greedy Human world was banished from the magical realms. There were many troubles among the realms but the change in the council caused great extensive change among the people and realms. The orc kingdoms were banished too but they were kept well hidden and protected from the human world. The dwarfs and elves lived in harmony. The Hobbits took part in fighting, trade, inter realm marriages and communion. Everyone is in peace.
'The Elvish kingdom still holds an upper hand in elegancy and security of course but other realms also upholds it's own powers'
'Which all are the realms' I asked, 'The Dwarf, the Elvish, The Hobbits and what are the other four?'
'The Wizard and Witch, the Fairies, the Ogre and giant and the council realm' he finished.
I nodded. 'Thank you for telling me these things' i said pondering on each of words. I felt a warm breath on my cheeks. I quickly looked at him. I never thought I was this close with him. I felt quite uncomfortable.
'You always enchanted me. Every elvish men have been wanting you badly. Your special. Never have I felt this way towards any woman' he swooned at my ear.
I shivered slightly when I felt his lips at my ear. 'I am flattered but it is getting late' I said getting up. He caught my hand but gently.
'Dont leave.... I want you to stay. I want to know more about you' he said kindly.
His voice was smoother than butter. I looked at him admiring his gentle character. His lucious green eyes looking hopefully and longingly at mine. He looked handsome but I didn't feel anything towards him. I smiled warmly and said 'I'm sorry but I have to leave'.
He looked crestfallen but smiled and let go of my hand. 'I'm sorry for taking your time' he said and bowed. 'No thank you for giving me your time' I replied politely. He bowed and i curtsied slightly and walked to our ways.
